Scum of the earth strike

The car of Line Burns, the widow of the late coach Pat Burns, was broken into overnight last night, priceless items stolen in the burglary.

  2. Johnny_D says:

    I can’t help but repeat myself …

Only a tool rationalizes a disgusting act by pointing out that there are worst acts in the world.  You sir, are an idiot. By your infallible logic, a murderer is a good person because Hitler was worst.

Just stop, you’re only exposing your weakness.

  3. Johnny_D says:

Wow. Rationalizing a disgusting act by pointing out that there are worst acts in the world.  You sir, are an idiot. By your infallible logic, a murderer is a good person because Hitler was worst.

Give your head a shake, man.

  4. Propwash says:

Mat, it’s the principal behind the whole thing.

  5. Propwash says:

If one comes forward, the cops will arrange a meeting place, no questions asked. give it back, and nothing wil happen.

  6. yathehabsrule says:

Uhhh most of what was stolen was destined to be auctioned for charity so I sould not define them, or the last sheets Pat Burns slept in, as “material goods.”

You are right, it’s not the most heinous act on the planet, but the act deems no excuses, especially putting the blame on the victim!!

Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!

  7. RJB says:

Who the hell are you to judge Ian? Back off, you have no business criticizing someone for trying to right a wrong in the world.

“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
    – Bilbo Baggins

  8. RJB says:

Rational to say that this lady deserved to have tokens of her husbands legacy stolen out of her car hours after he was laid to rest? Just because there are many reasons as to why people steal, does not mean that it makes it right. Everyone here who has an ounce of moral fiber recognizes that what these thieves did was wrong. And offering condolences even if the Burns family won’t read them is not a bad thing, showing support in any form is never a bad thing.

  9. matmacat says:

Maybe give that money to a kid that can’t afford an education. Big heart, Ian, big heart…

  10. matmacat says:

Really, Ian? Why don’t you give that money to save people that suffer from hunger, poverty, and other serious problems in the world? Ridiculous.

  11. matmacat says:

Sick place? Someone getting material goods stolen? No. This is the least of the sick things that are happening in the world.

  12. matmacat says:

I totally meant what I wrote below. Was there no one in her surroundings that thought of taking all those things off her hands? Theft is a reccurring action in our societies. No point cursing the thieves. Many things lead to it. Poverty for example… Why do you members even bother writing things as if the missus was actualy reading your comments. If anyone’s a tool, it’s you fellows. Out to prove you’re a good person by denouncing injustice? My comment was very rational.

  13. yathehabsrule says:

What should they have done, strapped it to the roof??? Go sit in a corner.

Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!

  14. yathehabsrule says:

I thought whoever broke into the car was my tool(s) of the day….Guess I was wrong there….Idiot.

Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!

  15. Caper says:

The person(s) will be caught. No way will they get away this. The world is a sick place sometimes.

  17. crabvader says:

This is incredibly as sad as it is sickening…

  18. 4loorplay says:

why was this stuff placed in the car in the 1st place….little odd no

  19. Da Hema says:

    Are you really this stupid?

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:

Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.

  20. Ian Cobb says:

Mat, you might be from another planet. But you don’t cross a certain line in life with me my friend. You have never loved is obvious. You never think of anything else, when you lose a love.

  21. shaver18habs says:

Believe in it or not, Karma will DEAL with these pricks for sure

  22. Keith says:

    I second that.

  23. Keith says:

Stuff like this happening to a totally innocent, grieving widow and family really shakes my faith in the human race. Very dispicable person(s) who did this.

  24. habsfan_61 says:

absolutely classless move by a bunch of gutless swine. hopefully they find the crooks and give them a nice public floggin’

  25. Nahlsy says:

I guess they forgot that along with being a hockey hero, he’s also an ex-cop. I am sure the police force won’t put any extra effort into finding the scumbag and will take it really easy on him or her when they find ’em.

  26. kempie says:

OMG. You should try thinking. What a massively insensitive jerk.

  27. Clay4bc says:

Very generous of you, Ian. If I was anywhere near Montreal, I would help hunt them down for free.

  28. showey47 says:

Absolutely F’in disgusting. The person or person’s who did this deserve a serious beat down.

  29. Danno says:

You didn’t really mean to say that, did you?

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  30. Lazarus_taxa says:

Wow.  What a classless, insensitive comment.  I guess you have never lost someone close.  I would say what I really think about you but I would probably get banned.

  31. RGM says:

Somebody that just had to attend her husband’s funeral and is obviously thinking about the massive void in her life. You know, things slightly higher up on the priority list than getting everything out of the trunk.

But if people want to be apologists for callous robbery, that’s their prerogative.

    Go Habs Go!

  32. Chuck says:

She had just buried her husband. I’m sure that theft-proofing her car wasn’t at the top of her list of things to be worrying about.

Centre Hice: Price in a charitable mood

  33. Chuck says:

Dave, would there be a way to get a full list of what was stolen, especially the hockey jerseys? Someone might be looking to sell them, and those of us that collect would definitely be able to keep an eye out for them.

Centre Hice: Price in a charitable mood

  34. matmacat says:

Who leaves all that stuff in a car parked overnight? New to the planet?

  35. Ian Cobb says:

I cannot believe that there are scumbags out there that rob the dead.

hereby announce, that if anyone out there knows who the perpetrator is,
and comes forward with the information that returns all the stolen
property and convicts the person or persons responsible.

I will pay them $10,000.00 reward.

  36. Skotbot says:

Oh and I just checked…. they have a question up asking who will likely be the goalie chosen for the allstar game. and out of the 6 choices given Price isnt even named..

Isnt he leading the goalie ballot by something like 30,000 votes?

Do I listen to pop music because I am miserable? Or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

  37. Corio says:

I just submitted feedback on that on the website..

  38. SLONCOLD says:

ya but montreal fans aren’t probably voting 30 times a days lol… that never happened before. althought this time price deserves to be on the ballot

  39. Nilan4Pres says:

What’s even worse is that Bobrovsky is named and he is a write in as well.

  40. kempie says:

Too bad we’re not allowed to vote against him.

  41. Bill J says:

    RE: the Goalie poll..

Perhaps it’s because it is a new system in place.  But I suspect they are not discussing who will be voted the starting goaltender (as done by the fans) but rather who in the SchoolYard Draft thing they will be doing will be picked first.

It does after all say “Who will be picked first”

Thus why Brobovski is listed, and not the current leader…. Price.

Just my two cents on the subject.

  42. Corio says:

The NHL probably just figures it is a popularity contest as opposed to people calling out the best talent..

    Stats don’t lie!

  43. nick says:

Just saw this news on Yahoo… disgusting.

Way to keep it classy hockey fans.

  44. JohnBellyful says:

That was no hockey fan. It was an idiot without shame. And if the person did it for profit, what jerk is going to be the one to buy these stolen goods. Best the thief come to his/her senses and notify the police where the prized possessions can be picked up.

  45. rwparent says:

Makes me want to make a a donation to a mental health institute somewhere. Clearly the thieves have some serious problems…and of course, should be castrated so that they can never reproduce. We can only hope that a good soul spills the beans when they try to sell those items eventually…

  46. madcap_habsfan says:

People make me sick sometimes,i hope they resolve this issue  sooner rather then later

  47. habs365 says:

To Mrs.Burns and family, those people that robbed you, the lowest class of people in the world, maybe you can thank the justice system canada has in place. they’re probably looking at 6 months when caught, they’ll appreciate a warm place for the winter and three good meals a day. the government will take care of them with your taxes and everyone elses. wishing you and your family a merry christmas and may God Bless.

  48. volcano62 says:

Sad but true…..This truth makes me ashamed to live in north america sometimes.

  49. Clay4bc says:

Ummm…the justice system is not to blame for this or any other crime. As someone who has studied criminology, I can assure you of this.

Don’t misunderstand me – this was a despicable and cowardly act (especially if they know who it was that they robbed) – but let’s not get silly about thinking a crime of petty theft should be punishable by more than 6 months in jail.

Maybe you’d like to bring in Sharia law, and cut off his hand?

  50. Julie H says:

No questions will be asked if the jerks drop the stuff off. Police should make up some kind of law to cover this sort of garbage. I hope Mrs. Burns knows we are all thinking of her and want the items returned quickly.

  51. Propwash says:

I think it’s fair to say that whoever did this is a piece of *expletitive-deleted*

  52. HugeHabsFan says:

So very sorry to hear this.  It just makes me sick thinking about it. How can people be so callous and cruel??  :o(

“Thank you Cammy for making my day even more amazing!”

Cammalleri: “I almost feel bad for a guy who plays an NHL career without experiencing what it’s like to be a Montreal Canadien”.

  53. Bill J says:

It’s too bad the Habs have fans who would want to vote AGAINST their favorite team’s players.

  54. Sami says:

Well, not voting for Sharia Law here, but I’d cut off more than his hand, if it is a “he”. Just a dispicable crime.
