Sabres looking to build on winning streak

The Buffalo Sabres have won back-to-back games for the first time in a month and will look to double that streak as they take on the Canadiens in a home and away series starting tonight in Buffalo, writes John Vogl of the Buffalo News.

Like the Canadiens, the Sabres are in a long stretch of games against division rivals. After Saturday’s game, the Sabres will have played nine straight games against teams in the Northeast Division.

“We’ve got five teams that are playing excellent hockey in our division,” Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said Thursday. “If you can go over that .500 mark and move on, it’s been a pretty good run for us.”

    So the Sabres look to double their two-game win streak? Well, I can see them getting one of the two games vs. the Habs this weekend….but both? Sorry, this year’s Habs are too good for that to happen.
