• At a Glance: Pack your bags for Pittsburgh. The Canadiens have once again avoided elimination in the 2010 NHL playoffs and have forced a Game 7 in their Eastern Conference semifinal against the Penguins with a 4-3 win on Monday night. Michael Cammalleri scored a pair of goals, one only 1:13 into the game and another to tie the game 2-2 midway through the second period. Cammalleri now has 11 goals in the playoffs to lead all scorers. Jaroslav Spacek, playing his first game in several weeks, gave Montreal a 3-2 lead with a shot from the point that got past Marc-André Fleury. Maxim Lapierre scored the eventual winning goal 11 minutes into the third on a great invididual play where he carried the puck into the zone, fought off a defender along the boards and took it to the net, slipping it past Fleury. The Penguins got goals from Sidney Crosby, his first of the series, and by Kris Letang on the power play. Bill Guerin made things interesting by scoring with 1:24 to play, but the Canadiens withstood the final Pittsburgh push to hold on for the win. Jaroslav Halak would probably like a second chance on the Letang goal, but he was spectacular the rest of the game, making 34 saves.

• Key Moments: During a TV timeout after Cammalleri’s second goal, the fans at the Bell Centre gave the Canadiens a two-minute standing ovation that had the players standing in awe, surely an inspiration for the remainder of the game.

• What It Means: The Canadiens have avoided eliminiation once again in the 2010 NHL playoffs and levelled their best-of-seven series with the Penguins at 3-3.

• What’s Next: The series deciding Game 7 will be played Wednesday night in Pittsburgh, with the winner going to the Eastern Conference final and the other side heading home for the summer.

  1. Mad Habber says:

LOL as if that was a hard…it annoying when Crosby does it, 100x worse when Cookie is doing it… what a joke…

  2. Muckbringer says:

absolutly!!!send a message for game 7, good call!

  3. volcano62 says:

Yes he has. Now a couple of nice checks in the third and I would call it a perfect game.

    Go Habs Go!

  4. Muckbringer says:

“we wouldve gotten away with it too if it wasnt for those meddaling refs”

  5. volcano62 says:

    god i love the habs!!!!!!

    Go Habs Go!

  6. HFX-HabFan says:

I think they “turned it on” after the Pens’ second goal.  Desperation can do that.

Now in the third- play to WIN, don’t play not to lose.  Don’t sit back.  Let’s get the next one, on the PP right off the bat, or soon after.  We can do this!

  7. Muckbringer says:

shots lads…man up like BG please…bacardi gold

  8. Muckbringer says:

they were on fire and i think theyll finish that way too

  9. slapshot777 says:

I’ll second it. Thank-you Bob for these great players.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.

  10. Newf_Habster says:

AK46 is playing well tonight. He has assisted on both Cammy’s goals tonight.

  11. lavie says:

    Molson Export in my glass.

  12. Muckbringer says:

lets be positive….took a long time to get up that hill..

  13. Muckbringer says:

anyone else wanna take this intermission and raise a glass to BG with me?  “23 retired forever!!!”

  14. dudurules says:

refs better not kcuf this up…

  15. terrygain says:

You insult AK like a broken effing record, even when he’s playing a great game. Yes, you make it necessary. Go screw yourself crybaby.

  16. Craig_Mc says:

Habs 3, Refs 2. Nuff said.

  17. Habs_Fan_1 says:

Cammi doesn’t even look where he’s shooting. He has an amazing sense for the net and even better hands.

  18. Muckbringer says:

“get up man and clean your shorts…”

  19. habbyone says:

Wow!!! If this was a gear the habs were looking for i think they found it!!

  20. tricolore says:

Pens got out of jail during the last 90 seconds. Well done bleu, blanc, et rouge!

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  21. Muckbringer says:

    just poetic

  22. terrygain says:

Wow what a period. GO HABS GO.

  23. Habs_Fan_1 says:

    Arrgh matey! hehe =)

  24. Muckbringer says:

  25. shaw says:

    YES WE CANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  26. Muckbringer says:

does anyone like my in depth analysis?????OH LAY!!!!!!!

  27. tricolore says:

Is it really necessary to insult eachother?

He still sucks and has no heart. One good game does not make a player. Sod off.

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  28. Muckbringer says:

    friggn spach!!!!r u kidding?!!!!!

  29. terrygain says:

AK has set up both goals and is playing a great game you idiot.

  30. terrygain says:

AK made a bad pass at his own blue line but  redeems himself with some furious back checking.  After the ensuing face off he races up the ice on a 3 on 2 and makes a beautiful pass to Cammy for our second goal.

  31. Muckbringer says:

  32. volcano62 says:

    Go Habs Go!

  33. tricolore says:

Excellent points. We have no one but the officials to blame who allow this crap and don’t call unsportsmanlike conduct more often. That whining and complaining rings constantly in the minds of the refs and they are ‘seduced’ to make questionable calls as we have seen especially throughout this series.

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  34. tricolore says:

    Here, here.

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  35. tricolore says:

To hell with the refs. Some of these calls are highly suspect. Guess we need Sidney in the playoffs.

By the way, Kostitsyn is a useless pig. Mind you that pass To Camm for the 2nd goal was solid.

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  36. Muckbringer says:

im sorry i love cole but how senile is he?

  37. Muckbringer says:

the squeeky wheel has no rod spared

  38. Habs_Fan_1 says:

    Go to hell a$$hole officials!

  39. Muckbringer says:

its a mirror of society dude,

  40. slapshot777 says:

No way, The Habs are winning this tonight. There will be a game 7. Come on guys let’s go score a couple and put them on their heels. Let’s go Jaro, put up that wall. Stone them.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.

  41. slapshot777 says:

The hockey players of today especially stars like Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin and others always whine. I mean it’s hockey, don’t they realize contact is allowed. Back when Lafleur, Shutt, Perrault, Dionne was playing you never saw any of that crap.

They went out played the game took the hit, sucked it up and continued on. Now it seems like after every whistle, especially in this series, I have never seen so much whinning in one series as I have seen the Penguins do. Everything from a hit to a face-off, to someone yapping back and forth, they turn to the ref for everything.

They may be defending champs, but they don’t act like ones. They act as though everything should go their way and that they are untouchables. I thought that Crosby might be a bit different than the others, but he is just as bad or worse. I have lost a little respect for Crosby.

  42. 11habs11 says:

Best Coaches Corner of the playoffs?

If we’ve only got 40 minutes left in our season, it’s been a great run guys, glad to have shared it with all of you!

That being said, we’ve got wayyyyyy more than 40 minutes left in our season!

Everybody raise their beer bottles/glasses and have a sip

  43. terrygain says:

Great takeaway by AK followed by a quick, nifty pass before Pitt could adjust.

  44. Muckbringer says:

just so everyone know, i checked the rulebook.  apparently what you wanna do when you loose your stick is attack the first man off to the bench from behind.  they call 2 on them everytime…honest

  45. Slovak says:

Halak needed one to became the wall… Mario is not happy… not happy… why? :)))

  46. KC64 says:

A good start but they’re sagging a bit and they have to come back in the second with more juice. I wish someone would stick a cork in that whining POS Crosby…..he’s even got Cooke whining to the refs too…wow!!

    GO HABS GO!!!!! Gotta Believe!!!

  47. slapshot777 says:

Awesome goal by Cammy, I was hoping Gomez was going to score there late in the period.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.

  48. tricolore says:

Ok, why is it that every time the camera goes to Lemieux and his wife they look like they’re at a funeral?

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.

  49. tricolore says:

Habs are in for a fight tonight. The big man’s (Gill) presence blocking shots and moving bodies in the front of the net will be missed. Best defence is offence. They have to keep counterattacking. Discipline!!!!

Camm’s goal was awesome. More please. Every time MAB is on the ice, I feel sick. Go Habs Go!

Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.
