Revisiting Price’s sick stick save vs. Detroit

Remember Carey Price’s save against the Detroit Red Wings on Sept. 30? Don’t tell us you’ve forgotten already… TSN’s Pierre McGuire might still be dreaming about it.

Check it out one more time. Amazing.

Just so you can make the comparison…

    José’s save is Here

  2. Woah_Dana says:

I find myself watching that comeback quite often, too! God bless

    As well as this clip:
from our game on the 18th against Phoenix. I was at that game, & will never forget the feeling of reassurance that game gave me – that we have true, dedicated, passionate team mates.

    GO HABS!

  3. Chorske says:

    Love it.

Every now and then I go back to replays from the February 19 (I think) comeback against New York. Don’t think I’ll ever forget that.

  4. GHG33 says:

Same here, that was an amazing game!

  5. Sakus Evil Twin says:

It’s up there with José’s save on Bill Guerin, Playoffs Round 1, 2002?

Only that was more important… and had me bouncing around Champs bar like a lunatic. Again.

A Hab is a Hab is a Hab, you see…

  6. Drive_For_25 says:

Not quite on the level of that save, but still a great one.

  7. yathehabsrule says:

Amazing what 20 lbs of weight loss can do for a guy!

  8. B says:

He made a similar save last season (with all of that baby fat).

  9. RetroMikey says:

    Awesome, totally awesome!

“We will win the Cup only with Carey Price in the nets”

  10. cdnmarty says:

It’s a nice save but how great can a save be if the shot wasn’t even going in? I suppose you can say Price got to it before Holmstrom did but meh…

  11. GHG33 says:

It was just amazing that he even hit the puck at all with his stick.

  12. Corio says:

It’s the acrobatics of it sizzle cheeks..

  13. Shan says:

Have to agree with you. It definitely was an impressive, athletic move. But it wasn’t a “save” and that makes a big difference.

Their defenses are broken! Let the slaughter begin!

  14. Greg says:

Meh? MEH? wow. What does it take to impress you? You’ve got the talent and ability to watch it on your couch then blog about it, there’s no doubt about that. Carey Price can’t even make a “save”.

  15. Drive_For_25 says:

Is this clip an effort to make us all forget about the TERRIBLE goal he let in to tie the game last night? Because if it is, it worked for me!!

  16. Chorske says:

Never saw that clip, thanks for posting it! Hard to watch how upset Sergei was about his big brother getting rung up, and nice to see Koivu step in and keep the kid under control. Nice to see Lang get in the refs face about Kovy. And Tanguay, booting around the net to mix it up during a scrum around the Phoenix net- didn’t take him too long to bond with his teammates. A solid win and awesome team-building exercise.

  17. Woah_Dana says:

Glad you enjoyed! A lot of goosebump moments in there for me.

    GO HABS!

  18. GHG33 says:

    Epic Quote…

McGuire: “Thats the save of the year, and its not even the year yet!”

  19. Corio says:

Awesome save, I almost cried out of joy reviewing that. Sad, I know.

“He knows, like, unnecessary facts about putting Sears catalogs on your shin pads.” Sean Avery on Don Cherry

  20. Drakan says:

Pierre’s call on that play was the call of the year…and it wasn’t even the year yet.

  21. Woah_Dana says:

I remember that, against Boston wasn’t it?

    GO HABS!
