Plenty to like about Saturday’s rout of Bruins

Canadiens head coach Guy Carbonneau saw his team mail in a dismal performance Friday night in Buffalo. So it was with some relief, and plenty of happiness, that Carbonneau witnessed the Canadiens effort Saturday against the Boston Bruins in the most entertaining game of this season, a 7-4 Montreal victory.

Here’s the game from a Boston point of view.

The Habs rallied to each other’s defence, fought the battles, took 52 shots, scored a bushel and emerged with the sixth consecutive victory over their Original Six rival. And they only heated up the bad blood that’s bound to be boiling again on Dec. 6 when the two clubs meet next in Boston.

The only cloud: an apparent left ankle injury suffered by Christopher Higgins, who limped through most of the final two periods. More this morning on his condition, as the Canadiens prepare to face the Ottawa Senators tonight. And just the Canadiens’ luck: Senators sniper Dany Heatley has just one goal in his last 10 games and is looking to break out – soon.

THIS GOON SHOULD BE SUSPENDED AND FINED.

WITH MALICIOUS INTENT HE FOCUSED IN ON OUR STAR KOVALEV, AND TOOK SEVERAL STRONG STRIDES AT FULL SPEED BEFORE DELIVERING A VICIOUS BLOW TO KOVY’S HEAD
WITH HIS RAISED FOREARM/ELBOW SMASHING IT AGAINST KOVALEVS HELMUT AND THE GLASS.

IF THIS WAS SUNDIN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SEASON ENDING FOR CHARA, SUSPENSION AND FINES AND JAIL TIME.

WHY THE INJUSTICE? AND WHERE IS THE VENDETTA REVENGE FROM THE HABS?

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RIOT…BENCH BRAWL…EVEN THE FANS SHOULD HAVE JUMPED ONTO THE ICE AND RAN THAT GOON OUT OF TOWN.

ITS THE ONE SOUR NOTE IN THE HABS GREATEST GAME THIS SEASON…JUST THINK AT WHAT LEVEL THIS GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN ELEVATED TO HAD A ‘KORDIC’ OR ‘NILAN’ TAKEN JUSTICE…JUST THINK OF THE MESSAGE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT AROUND THE LEAGUE.

THERE WAS A TIME, NOT LONG AGO… WHEN ACTION WAS TAKEN IN THESE INCIDENTS…

WE WERE WINNING CUPS IN THOSE DAYS…I WONDER WHY…

I posted the following in another post:

Montreal has to get a policeman for the team. Is J.D. King available (St-Louis I think?) doesn’t back down from anyone .. and tough as nails. put up a good show with Booguard (6’7″ on more than one occasion. or, I wouldn’t be against getting Ivanans back. I know that Chara broke his face, but I think that was somewhat of a sucker punch. The thing that gets my attention in watching the beginning of that Chara/Ivanans fight, is the look of uncertainty and almost a ,not scared but, nervous look in Chara’s face.

BG…Carbo, lets not wait for a players to get injured. Either ban fighting and dangerous hits, or obtain someone that can dish it out as well. Fight fire with fire.
