LMAO.  Maybe he’s hurt.  If not, the Laps deal really looks bad right now.

I know, I know, he has an attitude problem.  We seem to lead the league in that department.

  2. VancouverHab says:

Gomez looked like a chemistry lab with DD last game, bud. And with PK on his goal before that.

My guess is that Pleks would curse his coach under his breath if he were playing with Moen & AK.

Of all the Habs top 6, I don’t see Gomez being anywhere near a problem. Pleks, Gio and Gomez rigfht now are doing their jobs — & Gomer has been doing it with AK & Eller.

  3. SeriousFan09 says:

Why would he be? Bulldogs aren’t playing tonight.

thanks oshawa, will check back later.

  5. Gormdog says:

I’ve spent some time over at pensionplanpuppets (leafs blog), and while the media is predictably trumpeting Burke, the fans are, to say the least, absolutely frustrated.

Leafs don’t need the cap room. Versteeg is 97% likely to be better than the 25th-30th overall pick. Burke says he’ll use the third round pick and turn it into a player.

That player wont be a rock solid top 6 (or, if it is, i hardly believe a 90th overall pick would really be the “over-the-top” factor). And Who cares if the leafs pick up a bottom 6-er. I’m confused… Is this a rebuild-on-the-fly-while-trying-to-make-the-playoffs-while-rebuilding-from-scratch ?

As someone pointed out earlier, any other GM doing this much backpedaling, should, at the least, be lambasted by their local media. Good for you Damien Cox…

  6. Max_a_million says:

Why didn’t they call up Carle?

It surprised me he wasn’t the first one.

  7. forskis says:

Just some Leafs stuff as a temporary diversion…

Do you think the B’s are going to goon it up against Kessel tonight?

The Toronto media here are doing a bit of a hatchet job on Versteeg post-trade saying that he did not fulfill expectation and that he never really fit in on the Leafs…and that bothers for 2 reasons:

    1)  35 pts. in 52 games is nothing to sneeze at for a 2nd or 3rd line guy;
    2)  If Versteeg really never did fit in with the Leafs or did nothing to help change the lockeroom for the better, the media in Toronto would have been all over this since Day 1…the fact they are all trumpeting this only now is just cheap…

“I am guilty of using elipses…”

  8. Mark C says:

Great news, Kaleta is still out with an injury and won’t be able to go tonight.

  9. dean roberts says:

hi gang. anyone know of a site where i can find the game? much appreciated, thanks.

  10. SeriousFan09 says:

Tech guys assure you of improvement Boone? Did they sell you any magic beans first?

  11. StevieRay says:

Moen on the Gomez/AK line tonite ???
    Darche replaces Moen ???
The ” nifty fifty ” line of White/DD/Benny stays intact ??
    Whatz you’all thinkin’

  12. Nicolas St-Henri says:

I’d rather see Darche there than Moen. Darche has a better chance to contribute offensively (9 goals to Moen’s 3). Eller also only has 3 goals…Ultimately we need Cammy back to fill that spot and a trade to dump and replace AK.

  13. oshawahabsfan says:

Darche can bury chances, Moen… not so much lately

  14. oshawahabsfan says:

Great day of sports on my day off. Champions League is back, AC Milan vs. Tottenham at 2:30, TSN2 is replaying the Canada-Russia game from the Olympics at 6:00, Buffalo-Montreal completes the hat trick. My couch is going to have a fine butt groove in by the end of today

  15. Rugger says:

That was like my Saturday, played touch Rugby on the beach in the morning (only place with no snow), then 6 Nations Rugby on TV (Scotland vs Wales), then USA Rugby 7’s Tourney (Rugby on tv twice on the same day!) then the Habs spanking the Leafs.

  16. Fansincebirth says:

One less moron/head hunter on the ice is a bonus for the good guys!

  17. oshawahabsfan says:

Very nice. The only thing left for me today is to play some hockey tonight, could happen still, we’ll see. You must really be looking forward to the World Cup

  18. oshawahabsfan says:

That is great news, we don’t need any more cheap shot artists out there

  19. oshawahabsfan says:

    http://habsonlinetv.blogspot.com/

This site lists the various links for the game. There will be more later, check back closer to game time. Usually links for all broadcasts, French and English. Some are better quality than others so it’s good to flip through all of them

  20. Rugger says:

Absolutely, the one we are all really looking forward to though is 2015 World Cup in England, much easier/cheaper to get to.  Our team is starting to talk about putting together a trip to play a couple of games over there and catch a couple of world cup games.  Once I have played in a game in the country of origin I can retire in peace.

  21. RJB says:

Gonna be a good tilt tonight ladies and gents!!

  22. ESundy36 says:

One of my favorite sports experiences was taking in an ARL game while Australia. To see the game played at that level compared to college club rugby was just awesome. It was also awesome to be in Brisbane during an Australia/New Zealand test match seeing how passionate the people were about the Wallabies.

  23. Rugger says:

We have an Aussie transplant at Flyhalf.  Really incredible skills, can hit you in the hands with the pass while you are sprinting 40 metres away.

  24. habinypsi says:

My guess is that darche and halpern have chem, and gomez has no chem with anyone so why waste darche on that line.

  25. oshawahabsfan says:

Wow that would be great to play some games over there. Whenever I get a chance to travel to Europe, seeing some football and rugby matches will be a huge part of the trip for me, the trip wouldn’t feel complete without taking in some live sports

  26. oshawahabsfan says:

No problem, glad to help, I know how frustrating it is to not have cable access to many games. The internet is my hockey saviour

  27. RJB says:

  30. Wayne says:

This thing looks cooool. Good luck with that! It’s missing the MS Paint feature so Boone can telestrate all of Eller’s Ozone infractions.

  31. twilighthours says:

Do we need an existing username?  Probably not.

I also wonder about the troll-banning possiblities with this new system.  It looks like cover-it-live.

  32. 21BIGGionta says:

it’s not loading properly for me on safari :( :(

  33. jew4jah says:

is henry in the lineup tonight?

  34. J.J. of Turku says:

Does this new format work with iPhone? (Propably not…) Anyways, nicer to watch game with laptop connected to TV, when I don’t have to boil my familyjewels because of holding laptop in my lap for clicking cmd+r all the time…

  35. J.J. of Turku says:

    Hmmmm…

So, I have to watch game with safari and open firefox for Hi/O… Wish I were a nerd…

  36. twilighthours says:

It looks promising for iPhone.  I have mine fired up and it loaded the app window.

  37. J.J. of Turku says:

Do we have an app for that? If we do… Hello iTunes/Appstore… :)

  38. jew4jah says:

i didn’t know he got sent back down?  wasn’t he a healthy scratch last game?

    (yes i am on drugs)

  39. kempie says:

Looks good on Safari over here.

  40. VJ says:

You’re just on drugs. Nash is the one who got called up, and apparently is a game time decision (depending on Spatch)

    edit

    oops, wrong spot

  41. VJ says:

  42. C_Hand says:

So we can’t create an account for the live chat session until the game starts?

  43. The M says:

These are players the Habs (in my so very humble opinion) should be targeting before the trade deadline.  These are not the talented/star players, such as Vermette/Richards but players who would upgrade the toughness and size on this team.   These are also players who can also play the game.

All of these players would be available at the right price, and although they may be expensive would be needed against a bigger tougher opponent in the playoffs.  Most of the players are on bottom dwelling teams but some such as Eager or Jackman are there because they are tough guys who play a great physical game while combining some offense.

Currently the only forward on the Habs who is the least bit intimidating is Travis Moen and if Andrei Kostitsyn is leading your team in hits you have serious physicality  issues.

Kaberle to Boston.  Just F’ing wonderful.  And Burkie continues his excellent job of building the Bruins into a contender.

  45. darcy1 says:

can anyone see the live chat? I can’t in IE8 or Firefox

  46. Mark C says:

To make matters worse Boston will be bidding against themselves. Burke has little leverage, he can deal Kabs for X or hold onto him and watch him walk July 1st.

  47. scrowe21 says:

    Where’d you see that?

  48. HabsFanMTL says:

testing, can someone direct me towards live chat please?

  49. _Habsoloutly_ says:

I saw it before, but it’s not there now for some reason.  Maybe Boone broke it already?

  50. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Directly above in Boone’s blog.  Not official just a rumour so far.

  51. Ayan_SB says:

Mike Keane’s on Team 990 right now with Melnick and McGuire.

He just mentioned how he still hates Boston to this day. Haha love that guy.

  52. scrowe21 says:

Lol Nice..I just skip to the comments. Didn’t even check.

  53. HabsFanMTL says:

i seem to remember Alex Henry having a pretty good pre-season game and he dropped the gloves a couple of times. Why aren’t we bringing him up? cause he is in his early 30’s? so what???

  54. JasonM says:

Where exactly is this new chat tool?

  55. scrowe21 says:

Apparently he’s too slow and doesn’t have the hockey sense to play in the NHL.

  56. avatar_58 says:

Really starting to hate this man

  57. Propwash says:

Torrana Sports Network is trying to squelch the Kaberle rumor.

  58. SeriousFan09 says:

From @renhockey (RDS) they say Spacek is out, Nash is in. That’s 3 Rookies, a journeyman, Hamrlik and the Wiz. I always believe but damn our defensive depth has taken a depressing hit this season.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  59. king ddd says:

kaberle to boston, who cares! they always choke come playoff time

    ** Buck Fruins **

  60. king ddd says:

wheres is bret festerling when you need him.

    ** Buck Fruins **

  61. scrowe21 says:

Meh..Spacek is usually terrible anyways. Im looking forward to seeing Nash to be honest. I’d obviously rather have Markov or Gorges..but..whatever.

  62. SeriousFan09 says:

I honestly suspect Trevor Timmins will pull his usual late-round magic and get a better player with the 5th-round pick.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  63. C_Hand says:

Spacek is really good when he’s playing on his normal side… which he mostly has not the whole time he has been on the Habs

  64. GrimJim says:

I think Festerling has to clear re-entry waivers if he is recalled, but I’m not 100% sure
