Paul Devorski and Eric Furlatt make a video

That is the Timo that makes my day !

  2. Bob Barker says:

    lol, how is that subtle?

  3. Tis Himself says:

I couldn’t agree with you more. I think those who love the sport and know its history, regardless of their “home” team, are embracing the Habs.  It is “the” story in this year’s tournament and proves that Emile Francis was right. “Hockey is a slippery game. It’s played on ice!”

  4. phillyhab says:

Gionta’s “I have no comment” spoke volumes.

And yeah — Game 7 was very well officiated, and what they missed was pretty even and made was consistent.

The Habs are probably pulling in more fans who’s teams have been knocked out than any I can remember in recent history, maybe since Edmonton and Anaheim’s Cinderella runs, or the Rangers in ’94.  It’s been something incredible every night with these guys; MOMENTS.  It’s an “anti-star” team and becoming an “anti-establishment” team,  and it’s resonating with fans of the sport that feel disenfranchised by the league.

  5. rogus says:

That is the funniest thing I’ve ever read on here!!! Subtle, yet to the point…

  6. Tis Himself says:

Just think how good this team has had to play to overcome the officiating. And, none of them have bitched about it publically. Who were the two guys who called Game 7 against the Caps?  Those fellows called perhaps the best playoff game to date and should be rewarded with more key assignments. Unless of course, they were last nights pair.  I think our game has run off the tracks.  Friends of mine down in NYC who are Ranger fans are cheering for the Habs.  Most of these people are long-time fans of the sport and are hoping for an ’86/’93 type run. Why can’t the guy running the League embrace it as well? MLB has no problem with the Yankees winning. I understand that NY is a bigger market, but a 100-year old team with an underdog squad pulling of the damned-near impossible, how is that not good for the game?

  7. punkster says:

I don’t believe it’s a league-wide conspiracy. But side bets betwen refs? Bloody likely I say. These clowns probably have chicken feed (a few grand) riding on these games between themselves. No different than the NBA. It would explain the image of complete and utter incompetency these DiCkweeds exude. Pete Rose, the Black Sox, greed knows no bounds.

  8. Tis Himself says:

I hate conspiracy theories but after watching last night’s officiating, the NHL should be just flat-out embarrassed.  I mean crap, even in boxing, when the match is fixed they know to at least try to make it look legit!

  9. Big Bird says:

I think the Forum ghosts last made an appearance at the Bell Centre when Saku Koivu was out with cancer that season.

I think they (like everyone else) were so pissed off by the officiating they got involved in the 3rd period.

  10. Tis Himself says:

Bettman is wedded to the NBA model where the marketing of the sport is driven by just a few star players.  Not giving a crap about the history of the game — he was seen checking his freaking watch on national TV during the Centennnial Game celebrations — he can’t get his tiny mind around the fact that the run by the Habs is THE story of this year’s playoffs.  The New York Times understands it and has a reporter covering the series.  He would rather see some lame-ass sunbelt team win it again.  Indeed, I think he is still pissed that the ‘yotes got eliminated and his name won’t get on the Cup!

  11. RJ says:

This does not mention the bogus call on Gill in game 3 that led to the winning goal. There should be not doubt in anyone’s mind that Bettman and the NHL want Sid the Whiner in the finals. With Sid and Ovie gone, what does the league have as a showcase? Better yet, let’s really piss Bettman off by getting two Canadian teams in the finals. We know how he feels about Canada.

  12. Danno says:

You have a wonderful, wonderful wife! Give her a big hug!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  13. Will Longlade says:

Habs fans have to hope that what goes around comes around, the same way it did for the Caps and Knuble in the first series. But, based on what I’ve seen so far in this series, the Habs will just have to find a way to overcome the added adversity. The sad fact of life is that Crosby would have to literally murder someone on the ice to get a penalty! Let’s hope that changes. Monumental game of epic proportions on Saturday night (they all are in the playoffs) . I say that the Habs withstand the early pressure and build on their monentum with a W.

  15. Fargo Habs Fan says:

    18.  I have tickets lined up, but I got the hard news that I will NOT be going.  Oh well, saves me money!  At least my DirecTV is working again.  It quit on me… yesterday.  Thankfully, we had Boone to keep detailed notes (and a TV in the break room for the last half of the 3rd!)

  16. light_n_tasty says:

I’m hoping you have tickets…isn’t that like a 20-hour drive?

  17. Fargo Habs Fan says:

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!  As long as I can talk my boss into giving me one day off, my wife is 100Q% behind us driving to Pitt tonight and going tomorrow for her mother’s day gift!

  18. KC64 says:

I’ve been watching hockey since 1971 and last night’s game was by far, the worst officiating I have ever witnessed.

I’m glad the Habs rallied to win despite the incredible bias….A nice f*@!k you goal by Mad Max and a lucky but good goal by my man Brian Gionta(next captain of the Habs).

Hopefully Game 5 will be better. We’ve really gotten inside Sidney’s head……pretty lonely palce too.

    Gotta Believe!  GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Natrous says:

    Awesome! Thanks for posting!

  20. yathehabsrule says:

Awesome Crosby tribute and a couple vids using the “Habs Romance” song.

Ya! The Habs Rule! now on Twitter!

  21. Roneagle says:

    Bettman – Devorak & Ferlotte

Sounds like a crooked law firm

  22. Cee_8ch says:

Maybe just maybe, divine justice was served last night. The referrees were so blatantly atrocious last night that perhaps our Heavenly Father looked down and shook His head at the injustice, and decided to favour our Habs with “questionable” third period goals and the victory.

Ferlatt and Devorski should be banished from further playoff jobs.

And whether Buttman gave any explicit instructions to them or not, he should be made to run naked through Times Square just for being Gary Bettman. He’s unfit to be commissioner of a crokinole league.

  23. VancouverHab says:

Holy crap! If the idiot zebras sung like that I’d forgive them. Thanks, Mr. Boone ….

  24. BienvenueSurLaPasserelle says:

    Love this quote from JG:

the way this group has come together the last couple of weeks,” Gorges

“Everyone’s playing for one another. No one wants to go
home. We’re playing for each other and, as long as we do that, we have a
    lot left to give.”

  30. habsoul says:

I don’t think I’ve ever complained about officiating on this or any other forum, but last night was simply atrocious. I think even die-hard Pens fans would agree that the officiating was imbalanced, if not biased.

There is no longer any doubt in my mind that Sidney Crosby gets special treatment—perhaps because the refs don’t want to listen to his pitiful whining for an entire game?

But Montreal won despite the massively tilted playing field. This can turn into a positive if the NHL becomes concerned about fan backlash and decides to let the game be won on the ice, by the players.

Whatever happens, last night’s win can’t help but be a confidence-builder for Montreal’s players and coaching staff—they beat the Stanley Cup Champions on a night when the officials were clearly in the other team’s camp.

  31. Tis Himself says:

You know that the officiating had to be abysmal when Jeff Klein of the New York Times spent half of his game review discussing it.  Unlike Bettman, Klein knows what a good story the Habs’ run is.
