Pat Burns tribute update

The Canadiens will offer a pregame tribute to late coach Pat Burns just after 7 pm ET. It will be telecast live by Hockey Night in Canada and RDS.

Hockey Night will have memories of Burns to share throughout their telecast, including a special salute by Don Cherry in Coach’s Corner with Ron MacLean during the first intermission. HNIC play-by-play voice Bob Cole, who called most of Burns’s games behind the benches of the Canadiens and Maple Leafs, will have his own memories to share.

In French, RDS will do its usual excellent job with interviews and video remembrances.

    Words well spoken Ian.

Rest in peace, Pat Burns, you were and always will be a class act. We will all remember your passion and knowledge of the game, the HHOF should be embarassed for not giving you the honor while you were still with us.

People that build their own lives from scratch, always know where up is.

When Pat was on top, he never forgot were the bottom was.!!

Just a man, but the world needs more, Pat Burns in it.

  4. C-Dawg says:

I agree Ian, and I’m so sad and angry that he wasn’t elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame before he passed. I just hope that Pat read about all the fans and journalists calling for his election, and knew it was merely a matter of time before it happened.

We should be thankful for Pat Burns’ sake that the game is in Montreal tonight so that Pat can receive the proper ceremony he deserves, instead of a tacky, amateur ceremony that Toronto produces.

  6. Irishhabsfan says:

This Irishman has only one thing to say,

“God bless you Pat, Rest in Peace”

Right, the HHOF dropped the ball on this one. Precedent setting, I don’t think so. Coach of the year three times! I bet hockey fans in Montreal, Toronto or Boston would agree. Dropped the ball.
