The Canadiens began 2011 well, and so did Habs Inside/Out.
David Klimek, the Tom Brady (and yes, ladies, he’s single) of Gazette market research, reports the site had 2,399,993 page views in January – up from 2,212,772 in the first month of 2010.
That’s an eight per cent increase, which means, per the complex HIO bonus system:
• Patrick V. Hickey gets eight complimentary cocktails in the eight Irish bars in North America he hasn’t visited yet.
• David Stubbs gets eight Glenn Hall toenail clippings, with certificates of authenticity.
• Mike Boone gets his choice of eight virgins in heaven or eight divorçées in Côte-St-Luc.
• Kevin Mio gets a Ferrari Testarossa for eight weekends.
More stats from Google Analytics: The mobile version of Habs Inside/Out had 25,043 unique visitors and 201,440 page views in January.

What’s with some of the people saying were battling for 8th. Were currently in 7th and TSN is even giving us benefit of the doubt and has not even mentioned us in the talks of who wont make the playoffs. According to the “experts” on TSN last spot will be between Atlanta and Carolina.
hey guys anybody know whatup with Kristo…

88 is the new 23
I was just looking at the schedule for the rest of the month. If Auld starts against New Jersey (Feb 6th and the Islanders (Feb 10th), then Price should be able to handle the rest of the games.
ALEX AULD IS IN NET TONIGHT!
At least it wasn’t a David Frost bite yuk yuk yuk.
So I’m at work last night in Toronto and the radio’s got Gord “Courtnall 4 Kordic” Stellick’s post game Leaf show and his first caller asks him, while basking in the Leafs wallopping of Florida (4-3 SO), “Gord, do you think the Leafs have a chance at winning a round in the playoffs?”
That made me laugh out loud.
Anyway a few callers later, some guy calls in, says he’s a Habs fan, says he’s a buddy of David Desharnais and he’s been told that Tomas Kaberle will be a Canadien at the deadline, that Plekanec is pushing for it and has been talking to his buddy Kabby about it…
I give it an e2.
The e2 joke made me check his site, and sure enough: “there is a TON of buzz surrounding Toronto today.”
I can’t see Kaberle being moved to Montreal, maybe if somehow Spacek is found a new home. Between Subban, Spacek, the Wiz and Weber, Montreal has enough Kaberle type defensemen. That is not to say all of those players are as good, but that Kaberle’s skill set is found in many members of Montreal’s D corps.
Stellick: “In what year?”
Yea,and how would we have to give up,not liking this….
Eric Engels posted something about a habs and panthers deal brewing.
from the florida roster i would love the habs to get
Steve Bernier- Hes a Francophone great for media and i think hes a great player
Stephen Weiss
Frolik
David Booth
who would you trade for these players?
For some reason I was not able to put up a picture, or link to a picture that was signed by big Jean, and was sent to me last week. So I sent it to people on the site via e-mail.
Can anyone figure out in which year it was taken,?? I think it was in 1958 or 59 when I was around the old Forum.
Let me know on here if you got it. And what year according to the players in the picture.
For all the people on here who are in the ESPN fantasy hockey leagues HIO Unlimited and HIO 2010 Habs fans only. The trade deadline is February 9,2011, all trades proposed and accepted by 12pm EST. Good luck for the rest of the season.
” Not everyone can afford a brilliant stock advisor like storm”. TripleX 01/25/2011.20:16
From what Ive seen of bernier, I find him good, but for some reason, he does get moved around. Hes got size, youd think someone wouldve thought him a keeper.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Kaberle type defensemen.
You mean past it d-man who makes more turnovers than Pillsbury?
Top ten moveable defencemen:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/594203-nhl-trade-rumors-tomas-kaberle-and-10-defensemen-on-the-move
Kaberle is in there but I would be more interested in Alex Goligosky, Erik Johnson and Brent Seabrook.
I really dont see the use of acquiring him. I think hes overrated. But it depends what the habs can unload for him too.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Does anyone know if Auld is confirmed for tonight or if it is just speculation?
Not to mention they have the Wiz now.
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
Hey Ian,
Could you email it to me?
p29g@hotmail.com
Thanks!
1. Pleks
2. Hamilton
3. No. Gomez does suck, but he’s better than DD at this point.
4. Yes.
5. 6th so we can face the Bruins again in the opening round.
1) Me. The palpitations have started.
2) Beside Picard.
3) Doesn’t make a dif; neither are checking lines.
4) Now do Cammalleri.
5) Ultimately? Horizontal.
Hey Ian, the first thing that struck me was the numbers on the arms, which date it as no earlier than the 58-59 season.
Also, the crest on Plante’s sweater is VERY worn, so it’s probably not from the first season that they had numbers on their arms.
A few questions to drop on all of you, wondering how the fanbase feels
1. Who will need more rest going forward, Price or Plekanec?
2. Once Cammy is back, where do you fit in Eller?
3.Would you try David Desharnais on the second line, meaning Gomez on the third?
4. AK 46 is on a pace for a21 goals and 26 assists season, is that worth 3.25 million a year?
5.Big one, big guess, at what position will we end.
ya auld is in
RDS reporting Auld is in.
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
I am not too sure how to take answer #5, so I just wont!
Cammy, would end with 21 goals and 30 assists, 51 points, 6 million, so slightly better points, but 500k shy of double the salary.
So I guess a question I should have asked, is who among the top 6 forwards earns their salary? But thats just opening a can of worms…
1. Price
2. Hamilton (thought that is where he should have been since November)
3. No, but seeing the stats on Grabavoski and Ribeiro makes the blood boil!
4. No, cmon, get it going Andrei. Your brother is only two points away from you!
5. 6-8
I don’t want to see Maurice tonight, I want to see The Rocket!
1. Both could use a little rest at some point if they want them to carry their play down the stretch and into the playoffs. They are rellying on both players heavily right now.
2. 3rd line with Gomez
3. Why not?! relieve Gomez of some “heat” or maybe send a message to him.
4. Gomez is on pace for 10 goals and 26 assists and making $8 mill. At $3.25 mill, seems like AK46 is a “bargain” !
7. 7th
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
Seabrook and Penner would be my choice for trade deadline..don’t know how we would do it because I wouldn’t want to trade any of our top-6 forwards.
Little something that occurred to me a few moments ago:
If Greg Pateryn doesn’t play a game for us, the Ninimaa (or whatever) for Ribeiro thing will have been the better deal.
Just sayin.
Maybe they should track how often the server crapped out this month.
Mike Smith on waivers? wow how things have changed, once upon a time the key piece in the Richards deal. Depending on what it costs us could be a good tandem w/#31
1. questionable, since plek plays in all situations. im gnna say price though
2. 3rd line
3. nah
4. i dont think so
5. anywhere from 7th-10th. i can see us making the playoffs but we need carolina and atlanta to F off
Sort of, offensive D-men who aren’t great in their own zone, and who aren’t very physical.
Absolutely, Ian. He’s really one of the greats.
Ian, just got your email with that picture. WoW, what a great photo!! and signed by the great Beliveau. amazing stuff.
Too bad he’s a sieve.
Thanks Chuck, he is a sharp old guy to remember the years that I worked around the Forum. Very Neat of him to send it to me signed.
Seriously Mike, as a marketing and sales geek, you guys deserve % bonuses for extra revenue dollars from advertisers. If you don’t have a deal, get one, and hire Gomers agent!

Stranger things have happened, surely,Prada Handbags, but when I first read the article on Examiner.com about two new trends for Spring/Summer 2010, I was kind of incredulous. The article was an interview with Meaghan Mahoney, creator of the amazing PurseBlog, who’s trend tips were a little surprisingtie dye and perforated leather.
Perforated leatherthat makes sense. But tie dye?? Once I read on a little I began to understand. Tie dye,Cheap Mbt Shoes, yes. But not that kind.

I hope what this means is some else besides Habs fans are watching and reading what is said here.
Tony/observer is a Leaf fan, LA Loyalist supports the Ducks, and Timo hates all the teams.
The rest of us are Bleu Blanc Rouge.
Well I hope what this means is some else besides Habs fans are watching and reading what is said here. Hint hint the NHL because last night for the first time in years I can say the refs tilted the scale towards the Habs. I was totally amazed at some calls they did not make and the one they made in the Habs favor. I thought they called the game pretty even now one can only hope this will continue. I still hold out hope the Molsons has called Bettman and said enough is enough. I do believe the Molsons read this site they be pretty dumb business men not knowing you got a 3 million hits in one month for your core target market.
When the server goes down for 6 hours and everyone clicks refresh every 3 seconds, does each time count as a hit????
Or my failed attempts at trying to change my avatar which for some reason seems to be the easiest of things on the internet… except here.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Fair enough Dave. If we win the cup with him in the line-up, I’ll buy the beer. But if he gets shipped out or bought out, well, hell I’ll buy the beer then too!

The server is able to recognize non-Habs fans and therefore does not grant the same avatar privileges.
I would never have a disrespectful avatar or anything like that. Its just another cat lol

And TripleX is a fan of anyone who doesn’t employ Jacques Martin…
You forgot Everlasting/Demigod, the Blues fan.
Enough of the Gomez rants! There, that’s my part of the 1%.
Hi SmartDog,
I usually don’t talk to much on here because of my spelling.I been here for over 3 years and you were 1 of the people that always read your post and enjoyed them.
I have learned alot on this site about the team, line ups and hockey rules.
You have every right to complain about any player you wish, sometimes some people don’t like it than they can stay out of it or argue with you.Keep up the good reading,if i don’t like what I see than i just move on.GO HABS GO!!!
I don’t anybody here thinks he’s worth his contract. But it is what it is, and I think we should take the pledge. We can go on all we want, but he’s still here as is his cap hit.
Boone you have it made.
I figure my lengthy stirring-of-the-Gomez pot must make up at least 1% in people bitching at me…how they believe in this guy (6 goals, 26 points, -9)… I just don’t know. So anyway, can I have one of your virgins? Okay, okay, I”ll settle for the divorcee… done then?

Now that’s a good one Rob
By the way, I’m going back to my December mode of not discussing Gomez with anyone. Not worth the hassle. So let’s not make it an issue between us, OK?
***Subbang!!!***
Also of note, RDS isn’t as concerned about foul language spoken in English as all other hockey broadcasters are, which is likely the main reason you don’t hear ice-level sounds on CBC or TSN like we do on RDS.
If you sit up in the deck in the Bell Centre, you’ll notice that they pump the sound of the play through the PA so that it seems more intimate.
All TV broadcasts of games (that I’m aware of) have access to the audio of the play; how much of it they choose to mix it in with the audio of the play-by-play guys is another matter, however. I often find that TSN adds too much of the rink sounds to their telecasts.
a few years back I bumped into Ted Saskin when he was head of the NHLPA.
I suggested that he watch a Habs game broadcast on RDS so he could “HEAR” the real sounds of the game.
It seemed (and still does seem) that RDS has microphones very close to the ice surface, which allows its viewers to
ENJOY THE SOUNDS OF THE GAME – like the skates when they drive through the ice, stop and start – the “buzz” from
the fans
The league knows how critical TV viewers are to its success.
But yet, when I watch games on my NHL Center Ice package, there are no microphones near the ice, and the games
“seem” much less exciting.
ALL NHL ARENAS SHOULD BE HOOKED UP WITH THE SAME TECHNOLOGY RDS USES!!
(it was not long after my conversation with Saskin that he was unceremoniously dismissed for reading the players’
e-mails. I have that kind of effect on people!)
