Oct. 20 Inside/Out Fan Summit FAQ

The first Habs Inside/Out Fans Summit is fast approaching. One of the event’s organizers, Jay Weiss, sends along this update. It’s not too late to join the fun at or around the Bell Centre on Oct. 20:

From Jay Weiss:

We’re only a few short weeks away from the first annual Habs Fan Summit, and it’s time to update those of you who have already signed up, and extend an invitation to those of you who are curious about all the talk of October 20.

What it’s all about…

Back in the summer, Yeats put into words what a number of us were thinking: the Habs Inside/Out community has been pretty tight since the site opened for business, yet we only know each other online. Wouldn’t it be great if we went to a game together? There was an enthusiastic reaction, and in short order we picked a date (October 20 against the Sabres) and got moving on plans.

The October 20 Habs Fan Summit is now an all-day affair, including a tour of the Bell Centre, dinner before the game at the Baton Rouge, the game, and a get-together afterward at Hurley’s Pub.

The Fan Summit our chance to get to know the other knowledgeable and enthusiastic Habs fans who populate this site, and to meet Dave Stubbs, Mike Boone, and Kevin Mio, the Gazette staff who run it so well.

Is it still possible to join in?

Absolutely! Start by visiting the Fan Summit website: habsfansummit.com. Go to the registration page to sign up for the tour, dinner, and the after-party. You can sign up for any or all of these events.

If you need tickets to the game, check out the forums, where you can make contact with people who have extra tickets, or visit the links to eBay and StubHub on the left side of the page. Even if you’re not going to the game, you’re still welcome to join us!

What if I already signed up a while ago?

First, thank you for doing that! It was a huge help for us to get planning numbers together. As we get closer to the date, we recognize that some people who originally signed up back in the summer have changed plans, and we want to get a more accurate count to provide to the Baton Rouge and Hurley’s.

Plus, now that we have times available for the tours, we want to know your preference so we can size the tour groups as evenly as possible. So please visit the registration page and confirm your attendance.ce.

Is there a cost to participate?

Everything is pay-as-you-go at each venue (e.g., you pay for your own dinner and drinks at the Baton Rouge, etc.). There is no extra admission charge for the Fan Summit.

Is there a deadline to register?

Ideally, we’d like everyone to sign up by Sunday, October 7, but if you sign up afterward, that’s okay, too. Again, we want to give our hosts as much advance notice as possible.

What if I have other questions?

Send an e-mail to Jason Weiss (aka Jay_in_PA) at rjweiss@gmail.com. I’ll be glad to fill you in!
