New strength and conditioning coordinator

Props to eagle-eyed Harani for spotting an item about this on the Canadiens web site.

Lorne Goldenberg, who worked with Jacques Martin in Ottawa and Florida, has succeeded Scott Livingston as the Canadiens’ strength and conditioning coordinator.

If you don’t think this is an important job, ask any player rehabbing an injury.

Here’s Harani’s sum-up:

Lorne Goldenberg will be the strength and conditioning coach for the
Habs next season. He is the owner and president of The Athletic
Conditioning Center, Strength Tek Fitness & Wellness Consultants
which he founded in 1987 and Station Seven Reebok in Toronto. The guy’s
been a strength and conditioner coach in NHL since 1986 when he started
with the St.Louis Blues. His other NHL stops include:

Windsor Spitfires (1988-1989)

Chicago Blackhawks (May ‘88-Aug. ‘91

Team Canada (August 1991)

Quebec Nordiques (Sep. ‘91-Oct. ’95)

Ottawa Senators (April ‘96-June ’97)

Florida Panthers (July 2004)

Here’s the very impressive bio.
