I’m not Price bashing…the guy has been pretty fantastic all year long..but in game 3 he made a mistake clearing the puck which cost a goal and in gane 4 he flubbed the Ference goal. I’m not saying other Habs didn’t make mistakes because they did but if you remove those 2 Price errors we win both games. He’s going to have to be magic to pull this series out of the fire.
Ok so he lets in 1 questionable goal, you do realize there are 6 players on the ice, and gomez was there 4 of the 5 times boston scored, i think you’re missing the big picture, price played well, he made 3 miraculous saved in game 4, vs 1 crappy goal…
can’t say the same about anyone else on the team, well superplexxx is the exception.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Gomez’ line has really been atrocious these past 2 games. Could it really hurt to throw Pouliot on their wing and pray they get back to that old rhythm?
That would be an idea, or add halpern, make them 4th line shutdown specialist…
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
No way does Halpern turn Gionta and Gomez(Both -4 last night) into a shutdown line.
It’s probably better to just give Pouliot a whirl again and pray that they become a good offensive line.
Boston has not looked like a Cup contender and has not put together a complete game in four opportunities. Montreal has every chance to take this series. The bad news is that as Lucic continues to be a complete non factor , players like Bergeron , Ryder and Kelly seem to be taking things upon their shoulders
and getting it done. If Boston get cocky and take penalties
in Game 5, Habs will prevail and come home to win it in six.
If Habs pull it off, fans will marvel at their magnificent team of warriors. Should they lose, it will all be Jacqes Martins fault.
Neither of these teams look like Cup contenders, enjoy the moment.

If it had been a tough back and forth game, 1-0, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3,4-4 you know, I think we would be in a slightly better mood, but blowing a 3-1 lead in the playoffs?
Bad bench management, bad time management, bad tactics against a team we know has 4 lines…
… this one is on JM.
Who’s schooling who?
We would have 4 lines too if JM knew what he was doing, this is the same kind of dinosaur that makes up middle management in failing businesses.
If you ever worked in a big corporation you should know what im talking about, those that are proud they slowly climbed the lather by drinking the company’s juice day in day out …

Paging HIO CHanellers: Change in plans for Game Five. Although we’ve had some suckcess – Chara, Thomas and Lucic suck – it appears the Bruins are developing a resistance to our psychic interventions. (And let’s face it, piercing those thick skulls and searching around for the targets of our mental machinations takes a lot out of ya. Sector 63 Group Leader tells me they still haven’t located Marchand’s brain.).
So for Game Five, we’re going after the officials. Get inside their minds, root out the Bettman influence, and make them more sensitive to the infractions, subtle and not-so-subtle, committed against our beloved Habs. Before the game we will re-acquaint them with the contents of the rule book, or introduce them, if the situation requires. During the game we will intensify their powers of observation, and bolster their courage to make the correct call. After the game, we will induce a state of bliss such as that follows coitus. The Habs have been screwed often enough, it’s time to return the favour.
Not in a mood to post after the game last night, but in a better mood now.
Firstly if the next game is on Versus watch it there. Excellent announcers, gave an unbiased play by play and best of all no Cherry and not once were the Leafs mentioned. It must have been crazy loud at the Bell last night as when Pang was trying to do the ice level broadcasts you could not hear him over the crowd. If you turned up the volume the crowd just got louder. Woulda been great to be there except for the final score.
I’m not jumping off the Bandwagon however the mountain just go a hell of lot higher to climb.
Regardless a hella of a game. Such highs and then the final low. Also can’t blame the refs. Did a great job and gave us the chance to win but we cound not score on the late PP.
Biggest concern and JM must adjust or we will be done. First 2 games more Habs than Bruins in front of Price. last night the exact opposite. 3 goals with no coverage brutal. Also I have not slagged Gomer all season however was that him on all 3 or only 2 of the Bruin goals trying to get to the open man who eventually scored. Terrible Terrible defensive zone coverage last night and it cost us. Also who was the d-man out of position on the 3 on1 that cost us the game.
Mr. Biter
With all the goal mouth scrambles the past few games, how many would Pacioretty have knocked in? Pains me to think of it.
“My face is my mask,” Gump Worsley
Tons likely, based on how he played vs. Boston this year (4 goals and 6 points in less than 4 games) and how the series has been played. He could have single handily turned the Gomez-Gio line into a big time match-up concern for Boston, which it isn’t right now.
I’ve been thinking about him this whole series – disregarding the whole Chara thing. He would have come in really handy in this series.
At the very least put Darche back with Gomez and Gionta.
I can’t get over how a line gets a little chemistry going and then it’s taken apart.
I hope next season they allow the lines to develop.
BUT BUT BUT, THE SYSTEM!!!!
chemistry? bullocks
common sense? double bullocks
emotions? you got to be drinking the toronto cool aid…
no seriously, JM sees chemistry and skillfull players, he pukes, you give him plumbers that compliment his “system” he wets his pants.
gomer sings him a guitar serenade, he gives him ice time…

Some of the things making this a lousy Good Friday!
ON PAPER, the BRUINS are a ‘better’ team and so I would have calmed down regardless of the series outcome. But now I hope we dont blow the chance to put them OUT of the playoffs. Not because I think the HABS will win the cup but it just galls me the crap that has come the HABS way from the BRUINS camp. There was a time when the BRUINS wouldnt have dared speak about the HABS that way.
Worried that team will: do one or all of the following..
Leave PG AND JM at the helm and the same type of team and type of coaching? YUK! Maybe even worse.. Muller will be GONE!
Resign WIZ for HUGE HUGE dollars rather than go out and GET a BIG DEPENDABLE MEAN STAY AT HOME D and give offensive-d duties to P.K/Georges/Webber/Markov/Picard.
Try and find a linemate to supposedly up Gomez’s scoring instead of making a bold decision here.
Trade ELLER!
Consider Gill as top 2 D going into next year!
gomez has played with ak46, cammy, gionta, moen, darche, pouliot, max-pac
unless we are getting him zach parise or ovechkin don’t hold your breath for this guy to wake up
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
That’s my point. I am hoping that AFTER this season the powers that be STOP considering Gomez so important that they need to ‘build arond’ him. They need to Move ON!
just re-read your post… k totally agree with your comment
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
They already have that player in Max Pacioretty, unfortunately a “hockey play” was made against him.
I agree on all points.
Well all the halak fanboys will want Eller’s head, if they got Koivu’s head, im sure Eller stands no chance.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Watching the series, I’m at the conclusion we need another Patches in the system. So many big tempting rebounds off of Tim Thomas we can’t cash in on because we don’t have a guy with the instinct to power to the net and finish the chances or just sit there waiting for the puck.
Hoping the Habs can make a big move and get someone like Zibanejad or McNeill on draft day.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
best thing the habs can do is ditch gomez and get some good supporting cast with the 7.3 million
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Who are they going to ditch him to?
hamilton.. a la souray, redden…
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
doesn,t his salary still count against the cap
no it won’t… he will still get paid but it won’t count against the cap
that’s why new york sent down redden and the oilers souray
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Absolutely right SF, the system needs another player from the Max-Pac mold (every team does). I can’t shake the feeling that Montreal would be resting at their homes today awaiting the next rounds opponent had Max not been hurt.
i would still rather be a Habs fan than a Canucks fan about now…i’ll leave it at that
nobody knows the pain of being a Habs fan in a world of Habs fans…
CP has got to be better… i’m not saying the loss is his fault but unfortunately in the playoffs and in the game of hockey the spotlight is on the goalie. For a goalie, good enough to win is not good enough in the playoffs, and although eh has been fantastic the first 2 games, the last 2 could have been better…
now it would be nice if defensively the habs tightened up… the spacek and sopel pairing is a catastrophe.. i don’t really blame spacek or want to get rid of him but he is 37 and has not played in a long time and is coming back from knee surgery.. so maybe playing him in the playoffs is unfair to him.
gomez on the other hand… if you are going to do jack sh!t offensively, just like in the regular season, then make sure that your line doens’t get scored on.. how on earth does everybody outcompete this guy… i mean JM had to put little rookie DD on bergeron because gomez couldn’t handle him, 2 goals could have been stopped if gomez backchecked smarter…
oh well.. lets hope we bounce back and take at least these series
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Sit Spacek, play Weber, we need to increase the mobility of the back end.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I agree 100%….Weber should be in!!
That Andrew Ference gesture is something really sad, to be a Habs fan… He pointed that to everyone in Montreal… every Habs fan… a hockey player that is, not a Bruins Fan.. and you know what’s the funny thing… Nobody is goin to do anything about it.. yup, we are just goin to take it dry.. because who the hell wants to defend the Montreal Canadiens ..? nobody will. As a fan.. i know i should just laugh about it.. but…
To quote Mr. Dylan “You ain’t goin’ nowhere” unless Price regains form. Giving up all those plums, Merry Christmas. He looks terrible. If he doesn’t get it together for game five this won’t be a seven game series.
“This has to be the mother of all brain-dead decisions.” – Red Fisher on the Jaroslav Halak trade.
Wow this is something new, you slagging Price, give it a rest Halak fanboy
You’re quote at the bottom makes it clear, you prefer halak.
By preferring halak you clearly can’t tell talent, and you clearly are still bitter that the owners of the team don’t indulge in your couch analyst schemes.
You probably think the system is working, JM is a good coach, and that russian players are lazy, but canadian players with the same or worse production are the heroes of the team, just cos you know, lazy russians with no heart.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
We dominated the first half of the game and then …
But the micro-reason for the loss was PK Subban.
Im not one knocking the kid. You live by both edges of the sword with a rookie in the post-season BUT…
That OT goal came as a direct result of Subban mistakes. He made a rush into the Boston zone while the forwards were changing when he didnt really have to (he should have just dumped the puck in). The result was he had to haul a** back into his own zone and barely covered a counter rush by the bean-eaters. After that he was gassed and had to get off the ice. As the right D on a “long change” period, he was forced to gamble and try to get off with Gill. His poorly-timed change resulted in the 3-1 odd-man rush happened because PK unnecessarily tired himself on a pointless rush when he should have kept it simple.
Again, there were numerous reasons for last night’s loss — it wasnt just PK, but I havent seen or heard anyone notice the bad change that resulted in an off-man rush. In OT at home, especially, you play it safe.
Ok, here’s the deal, look at the replay of the winning goal, it came as a result of Moen who had control of the puck going into the Boston zone fumble fffing it and not making a simple chip into the corner. PK saw Moen entering the zone in complete control of the puck and decided to change which wasn’t a bad decision, I’m sure he thought Moen would complete the easy play which he didn’t and the rest is as they say “history”
you need to try to look at the whole team play, and not those zoom ins, this was moen’s fumble… and this was mostly JM mistake, he didnt know how to adjust to gomez line getting buttfisted…
And no, you don’t play not to get scored on, thats mediocrity speaking, you play to win, and show what you’re made of, whats the point of “surviving” in the playoffs. you try to win or you shouldn’t be there.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Stompin Tom Connors – The Hockey Song
My how the game has changed.
We lost two.. but we won two as well.. We can still win this series
when the bruins first or second lines dont score they still have a third line that scored 3 goals yesterday…our bottom six forwards combined score about a goal every 8 games…
Hard to know what to post really re last two games.
I agree with those who say that the ‘system’ mentally wears players down but I am also aware that the majority of players on the team are avergae NHLers when compared, position by position, to the other players in the league… and yes I am afraid that includes GOMEZ and Cammy. We do not have have nor have allowed the development of any player who really can impose their WILL on a game and therefore the team ALWAYS need the system. That is what mediocrity is all about. You need to over-depend on a system then.
We really have only ONE PLAYER who can command a game. That is Carey Price.. and you see the risk in that, for it is very easy to have an ‘off’ night in goal which you cannot redeem. But we have lived with that for over two years now.
Hope we recover and WIN the series. But serious examination of the team/coaches need to be a priority in off season.
In truth I am just yapping right now because I really dont know how to react. They made me feel great in game 2 especially and JM looked really in control, but I could never really enjoy the victories because of the team’s and the coach’s pattern of inconsistencies and offensive weakness during the season.
And last night was a perfect example of the team and its coach doing the same thing they did all season.
Now JM looks as lost and wrong as he most did during huge portions of the season. Why Webber out? Why Eller/White little ice time? Why Moen not Darche with GG?
Was Gomez really gonna be a playoff star, which it seemed like or is he really a NONENTITY that we dont know what to do with?
This is the playoffs and we dont have the out we did on our ‘bad’ streaks during the season. We dont have a ‘soft spot’ coming up in the schedule. So I am not optimistic.
But…..
It is just very hard to swallow the possibility that the same system and its protagonists will be at the helm for many years to come.
As far as mediocrity in the system. How about bad draft picks. I’m sure we could have drafted Marchand as we would have picked before the BruinsThis goes on thru past years too. Poor draft choises.
The drafting has been very good for about 10 years, as a whole. FYI White was picked right before Marchand.
Seems to me we traded all these good draft picks away. Higgy,Ob Mcdonough,Komi, Ribs,SK,D’agostini,Latendress
Ok, besides maybe dressing different players, what would you like to see a new coach do with this current team that martin and Muller aren’t doing?
Like you said, we don’t have any superstars other than Carey Price, so other than the old Buffalo Sabres or NJ Devil trap system that they currently impose most nights, what should they do?
Keep your foot on the accelerator. 3-1 lead & then sit back is complete BS, not to mention JM’s fault. He sucks.
“Hate the Bruins like a sickness”
I am going to try an answer but please understand that I am, as I said in the article, in a hopeless funk, but here goes.
Preamble! I think that if the admin (gm/coaches/everybody) had honestly analysed this team before the season and early during the season, different player decisions would have been made. For instance look how long it took for a player like White to be installed on the team
But with the TEAM AS IS:
Gomez should have been assigned a more defined 3rd line role. developed into a GUY Carbonneau shut down type skater. Instead he keeps being trotted out as a top six forward… which HE AINT!
Eller/White/DD should have been groomed more during the season as an integral part of this team. Right now DD is used as a fill in. and Eller and White are really used ‘as the coach sees fit’
The ONLY way DD will play productively on this team is if he is put on a line with a ‘toughie (WHITE) another skilled player (ELLER) and developed together as a 2nd line leading to 1st line status. Right now no one can truly evaluate DD’S progress AND Eller’s and White’s should have been more aggressively nurtured by the coaching staff.
I wrote many many times before. The team should embrace P.K.’s rushes and react more to get in on his rushes. Now P.K needs to learn to use other players more on his rushes but it seems as if he’s been taught to go if u but but hurry back and all other players have been taught to hang back ‘just in case’.
I have cited many instances where this seems to be the case.
The Wiz’s lack of ‘picking up his partner’ techniques in defense has been glaring and should have been addressed. I dont mean just his defensive weakness BUT I marvel at HOW TOTALLY unconcerned he is with the play of his defensive partner… whoever it is.
I wrote earlier on, before Georges went down, that the team will suffer because we are asking Georges to play like Gill instead of asking him to play like Streit..offensively speaking. Of course Georges went down and that became moot but it would have been nice to go out and get a REAL shutdown partner for Gill and USE our other D who can skate differently.
Essentially the team played the entire season without any chart to gauge individual players progress except in ONE category. If in JM’s eyes their ‘mistakes’ were reduced they were making progress. There was NEVER the analysis of progress based on offensive abilities(production). Which is why JM felt (and to his credit, injuries played a huge factor) he could just stick players into the line up any which way.
I may be ALL WRONG but least those are some of my observations.
I dont mind being called all wrong! I wish I were really and this team did not seem as prone to slumps because of their lack of ‘game take over’ skillset.
Duh… attack! attack! attack! Let Boston fight through 3 zones rather than concede the entire f*cking rink to them. It’s just like the prevent defense in football. It doesn’t work in that sport, either.
Where’s the genius poster who said that “JM was “schooling” Julien?”
Whether the system wears players down or not is a moot point, they didn’t really play the system last night.
Exactly! When the long grind of the system takes it toll, what is needed is a kick-ass attitude and play. We dont have that option.
I’d like to hear JM’s justification for distributing ice time. Gomes = 12 min, Eller, White & Darche under 7 min. Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t Ryan White a Monster in Boston? What gives?
“Hate the Bruins like a sickness”
Andrew Ference’s explanation for the finger:”he was trying to make a fist pump & the finger stuck out”. Aaron Ward’s explanation:”Ference was letting fans know it’s his first goal”. Very funny A-holes.
“Hate the Bruins like a sickness”
Come on, Ward’s line is pretty darn funny. The other one, not so much.
It’s called “gallows humor” – best response is to load their net on Saturday night.
Arpon Basu reports that Price is NOT a finalist for the Vezina this year.
And is anyone surprised?
The anti-Canadiens sentiment among the hockey world and its pundits is pretty obvious.
“My second favourite team is whoever plays the Leafs”
The internets have brought out to Montrealers the fact that everyone dislikes/hates/loathes the Canadiens and it’s fans.
So I guess we now know what it’s like to be a Yankees fans. A Manchester United fan, etc etc.
It’s not a bad thing. F’em, f’em all.
You know what? I am right now back as Habs fan, just to give the middle finger to all the haters.
FU non Hab hockey fan. You suck, your team sucks, you’ll never get to 24 cups let alone 4 or 5 or even 1. You suck. And by the way, your fathers team the he followed sucked compared to my fathers team. THE CANADIENS.
I’m gonna drink some Scotch right now. FU NHL.
Happy Easter MoFos
Happy Easter LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
best post ever! i especially like the Scotch part
nobody knows the pain of being a Habs fan in a world of Habs fans…
With JM’s system when the goaltending is average we lose.He doesn’t know how to manage players ice time with quite often the players that are contributing get less ice time than the millionaires who don’t.I’d rather have DD,Plec Eller and Halpern as our centermen than have gomez on our team.
Ference fined $2500 for giving the fans the finger. No suspension, even though the NHL has a precedent of suspending a player for making an obscene gesture on the ice. Consistency has never been their strong suit.
Chump change!
No deterrent whatsoever!
… the fans of the Boston Bruins now have lost forever any right to complain that “the league” is out to get their team, and that the Montreal Canadiens have some kind of pull inside the NHL home office.
Charles P. Pierce – Boston Globe
Still more than Chara got for his ‘hockey play’. NHL priorities in action.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Give some one the finger=get a $2,500
Nearly kill another player=merely an unfortane hockey play
NHL discplinary board=whitless…
2500 for a guy that makes 2.5m…. equivalent to a $50-100 fine for the average joe. the nhl sure knows how to send a message!
Didnt the wiz get suspended for motioning to a player that he likes popsicles?
what do you think his gesture deserves???
seriously it was in bad taste but my god you guys think he should get the death sentence for flipping the bird.
GET REAL
He should get the same as Wisniewski got.
Well, in NHL reasoning…
Wisniewski gives a player an “obscene gesture” and gets two games.
Rypien shoves a FAN and gets a dozen games.
Ference gives the FANS a “obscene gesture” and gets a slap on the wrist.
Thanks, NHL.
“My second favourite team is whoever plays the Leafs”
There’s a cambell on the bruins team
Geoff Molson should say to the NHL, heck I’ve got 100 000 ready for 40 fingers for the next game.
FU Boston Bruins fan. PS I love the city though.
The same people on here were gloationg after game 2. Both games in MTL could have gone either way, and they went in Bostons favor. Both games in BOS could have gone either way. Were we not all expecting a long series?
I still have faith
A few thoughts:
- I’m still wondering why Darche was replaced by Moen. The former actually did an admirable job in lieu of Pacioretty’s absence from that 2nd line.
But what a terrible game by the Moen last night. Placing him alongside Gomez and Gionta quite obviously has NOT worked all season.
- The Plekanec line has done its job of shutting down the one centred by his fellow countryman Krejci.
However, the same cannot be said of Gomez’ line vs that of Bergeron. It’s just frustrating to watch him regularly being out of position when playing in his zone; he’s neither the first one to the puck nor intercepting the passing lanes. He’s in no-man’s land out there on defence.
- The Habs are making life way too easy for Chara, as his breakout passes keeps leading Boston to some good offensive chances.
- Is it too much to ask to replace Spacek with Mara, even if it is for one game?
How many goals was Gomez on for last night. Every time Boston scored it seemed number 11 there. I really think he should be dropped down . Put Desharnais with Gionta and Darche and see what they do. Desharnais wants it more than Gomez. Put Gomez on the fourth line. Just because we pay him $8mm does not justify playing/treating him like an $8mm player if he is stinking uop the ice. It is up to JM to put his best team on the ice. If Gomez is not the best then play him accordingly. JM owes that to the team and the fans.
mjames
Amen to that,
DD gionta darche sounds good, eller pouliot and WEBBER! gomez can play with white and moen(altho id rather pyatt) ohh wait, there’s also halpern, so make that halpern gomer and white
Bring Back Captain Kirk!!!
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Moen has been invisible all series, as for most of the year, I’d rather Benny, since he actually has talent…
Why is webber out? the guy SCORED, the guy plays PHYSICAL, more than 2 thirds of our team… and he skates 2nd only to PK if he were to put on the D, Spacek is DEAD WEIGHT…
JM has enough forwards to make offensive lines, he sticks plumbers in 3 of them, the only offensive line is Cammy Pleks (aks superPlexxx) and AK.
If you dont realise how bad it is to have a plumber on an offensive line, here’s a crash course:
when you know 1 guy will NOT score, and NOT make a good pass, YOU concentrate on the last 2 making their offensive lives miserable.
Thanks to LeSystem, trademark, JM, habs have 3 handicapped lines, that are neither defensive nor offensive.
The confusion that happens on the ice is because JM and the players don’t see eye to eye… and its not like JM will win games…
But wait, he’s quebecer, so god help he can’t be to blame…
How many times did he break working lines? THE MAN DOESNT BELIEVE IN CHEMISTRY!!! thats the only sign you need to assert his incompetence as a coach…
He got credit for Halak’s miraculous playoff run, and now, he won’t be blamed, likely, all the Price haters will be back in full steam, and probably AK and a few others will take the blame, including PK.
And Brunet on RDS needs to stop being don cherry, all his comments are about what the bruins are doing wrong… and what they could do to dominate, he should stop talking to be able to swallow all that beancum.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Ok guys, a Bruin gives your fans the finger after scoring a goal… what are YOU going to do about it?
This is as good of bulletin board material as there ever was, considering that the NHL probably won’t follow their own precedent and suspend him…
how does a tream give up a 3 on 1 in OT…I just dont get it.
If Carey was on his game the score would have been 4 -2, in saying that, I love Carey and wouldnt trade him for anyone !!!
How can Chara even be mentioned in the same breath with the better D-men in the league????…
The only thing that can be said or realized is that Markov and Georges are needed back in a big way. Spacek and the Hammer are too slow. Price had 2 crappy games. There it is.
When a goalie (Price) says to his team mates that they sucked last game because they weren’t ready, he better put his money where his mouth is… and he let in 5 goals last night.
Yep… I guess that it was all his fault. You statement is far too simplistic.
Price was responsible for the 3rd goal in game 3, besides that he’s been good to great, far better and more consistent than ANY other player on our team, besides maybe pleks.
So NO, you are wrong, and that is such distorted view of things.
Ponder over this, there are 6 players on the ice for a team…
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Too many players who cannot score. We have essentially four forwards who have any hope of putting the puck in the net.
Imagine if Sergey was there with DD instead of Pyatt. We’d have a third line capable of scoring.
So when we get a PP late in 3rd, we have Cammy, superPlekxxx and gionta? wtf, how many goals did AK set up with cammy, who set up PK winning goal, who scored in the game and the previous game…
I get it, russians are judged differently, despite the fact AK is one of our best forwards, he takes too many nights off, ok, so what does cammy, gomez gionta do? ohh right, they’re not russian, so its not nights off, its hard work that doesn’t pay…
Le system is shit, i said it for 2 years, and some agree, JM IS NOT A GOOD COACH, a good coach can adjust, and has a feel for his team, and maybe emotions…
im quoting LA loyalist, habs win despite the system and not because of it.
when all think alike, no one is thinking very much
Whoa one cotton pickin’ minute.
I always say you need to clean up your own mess.
In this case it is certainly not on JM.
This mess has been created by the players.
Names whoever you want here is who needs to stand up to get us out of this one: PK, Carey, Brian, Scott, Michael and Thomas.
The buck stops with the leaders. No matter how old or how young you are, the leaders need to find a way.
Patrice the leader for Boston did.
Gomer will NEVER EVER sit under Jacques “veterans rule” Martin.
Geoff $$$$ is nice, Cups are better. Bring in Kirk next year.
Nice talk, Eric. Kids on here my friend!
I’m with the HabProf, Paul Mara needs in… and Ryan White needs more ice time, stick him with G&G cuz Moen’s lost up there.
But we’re not the coach.
“My second favourite team is whoever plays the Leafs”
HabProf has got it right… JM what are you thinking? Mara IN and White too!
I dont get this team. They are dominating the game, they go up 3-1, and than they just become complacent and go into defense mode. THats such typical JM BS. Where’s the killer instinct? They had the bruins on the ropes and just decided to stop skating!
IMO, that was the worst way to lose. Momentum is totally in bostons favor now.
The only positive is that the home team has lost every game in this series, if that keeps up, the habs move on.
I cannot believe the ice time (lack of) for Eller and White!
JM believes it…..just dumb and predictable….
Will Ference get a suspension for his gesture to the crowd last night? Or is that just another hockey play gone wrong?
I remember the Wiz getting two for his gesture, and that was towards another player, not the crowd… Any ideas?
HABS ALL-TIME GREATEST TEAM IN NHL HISTORY
LA was winning big, then collapsed big, now they are dead
VAN was winning 3-0, then got blown away, and Luongoal is getting blasted, now they are like deer in the headlights.
How will NYR and TB come back from crushing OT loses
And now MTL…
During the season you can come back as you play a different team the next game in a different building. But in the playoffs, you go back to your tormentor, your nemesis.
Lets see what this team is made of. I dislike the JM way of punishing certain players for mistakes but the “stars” don’t get squat. Now this is great if you have 1 mid-level player in your team. But the Canadiens have a bunch of those interchangeable players (Pyatt, Pouliot, Eller, etc, etc). So how do you think those players will play.
JM is not a bad coach, just a dumb coach. The faster they lose the faster Kirk Muller can become coach. Can you imagine how he will handle Louis Leblanc and Tinordi ????
Sorry but I cannot see JM coach a young, fast, offensive team. If he’s still there, I am out and so should you.
“Sorry but I cannot see JM coach a young, fast, offensive team. If he’s still there, I am out.”
So long.
HABS ALL-TIME GREATEST TEAM IN NHL HISTORY
I AM BACK TO BEING MR HABS……
like I said at the start of the series….
SPACEK OUT – MARA IN
as usual I was again 100% correct, Mara was playing excellent hockey up to the Playoffs and Spacek was in sickbay… its very obvious that Spacek is hesitant in his own end avoiding pressure and checks… rather sickening…Spacek has been directly responsible for all losses.
thanks SPACEK for throwing the sweep away… and a special thanks to JMartin
i agree! sissy spacek has habsolutely no business out there. paul mara is no top 4 defenseman but he wont hesitate to throw his weight around. jaro plays defense like he’s sipping tea and chatting up oprahs bookclub. he’s gotta go!
Sissy? Please…

ok, clay..maybe price has to get hurt from bruin forwards crashing the crease before you realize spacek is a pussy!
We really miss Pacioretty, Georges, and Markov here. God I wish we had them back.
What I’d like to know is what causes them to stop playing? Doesn’t anyone in the room say anything during the intermission? JM? Kirk? Anyone? I keep getting the idea of JM going around in a soft voice saying “good good, keep it up…” almost like Ned Flanders.
We could have swept this series. This is what pisses me off the most. We have outplayed them but we let up. Why the hell for?
We really miss some size up front but we all know that
I think a big problem we have is that we play our top guys way too many minutes Cammy and Gio should not be out there over 20 min a game. last night Gio had about 23 min. way too much.
Possible blowout coming in game 5?
Talk is cheap Habs players. Do it on the ice and don’t make any excuses. I’m getting sick of hearing them. This is the playoffs not regular season. And yes JM still sucks and so does his system.
“Hate the Bruins like a sickness”
Imagine how much different the defense would be if the 2 old boneheads hadn’t traded McDonagh and Obyrnne and not acquired Spacek and Gomez and the cap space those 2 waste?
Ryan Mcdonagh had a terrible giveaway the other night so maybe we’re “lucky” to not have him?
and lots of other good and excellent play. and not saving his body from being hurt like spacek and hamrlick. and young and leaving cap space to have added some serious players. minus spacel and gomez salary thats $11 million – mcdonagh and obyrnne are what $2 million combined leaves $9 million for some serious forward or forwards.
2 worst gms in hockey.
should BOTH be fired in 2 games!
Well, you won’t get any arguments from me about this. I was just being a smartaleck.
I guess that walk and talk with Gainey didn’t stick.
I get the feeling he was probably one of the players who was horsing around after Monday’s practice.
Hmm I wonder where you one of the ones dumping on O’Bryne when he was here? Because I seem to remember a lot of people hated him on here while he played. Personally I dont really think he was given much of an oppurinty here, and that is partly to blame on the coachs.
Another thread…..that was fast!
Here JM, I will help you, since it seems you’re not able to do it on your own!
Eller for gomer. limit gomer to about 8 minutes of ice time, that way hopefully he can’t get any worse defensively as he’s already been. Give Eller a shot, he deserves it!
And let white play for the love of God!
Mara and weber in for spacek and hammer.
cammy/pleks/ak46
darche/eller/gio
white/dd/halpern
moen/gomer/pyatt
gill/pk
wiz/weber
mara/sopel
can you do that JM or is that too hard for you?

I lagree with that shaker. Gomez although has been playing better was horrible defenseifly. I mean come on Scotty you see Wiz up at the point playing Recci do a better job covering down low. That bergeron goal was a total breakdown. I know this would not be popular by most but I would also sit Moen and replace with Weber. Moen just looks so sluggish. I know he has cup experience but just looks slow to me.
DD for Gomez you mean… cuz right now.. he’s the second best center on the team
Eller > DD, he will add size, there are way too many midgets on the first two lines already. However, JM will always choose the veterans over the young players, Gomez will remain on the 2nd line and I highly doubt that he’s going to replace Spacek with Weber.
this is true my friend….if your a vet, and if your a vet that’s won a cup……no matter what, JM will give you a free pass on any miscue you make out there!
Shaker
I like DD’s game right now too….but I think Eller could handle the minutes better than DD. He’s a bigger body and I like his toughness when he show’s it. DD is insulated well in the 3rd pivot, because it gives him the advantage as far as who he goes up against and the lower D pairing. But at this point, I’ll take anyone over gomer, and I mean anyone……calll up leblanc, I don’t care!

martin has totally mishandled eller. like he totally mishandled obyrnne, s. kostitsyn, d’agostini and latendresse.
