As I’ve said before, we have our Center of the future. Eller is a good kid who works hard every game. He’s got good speed, good size, good skills, and a great attitude. Lately he has been better on face-offs, and under RC, has done a good job on the penalty kill. Eller has become a complete player. His offensive production lagged under Martin, but I expect he will start to score more now, with the increased responsibility and confidence that Cunningham has shown in him. It was a Halakian trade!
good ol’ cunningham!
He’s starting to show a decent wrist shot too!
Cunningham? Richie Cunningham is coaching the Habs?
Just playing a hunch, but I am going to go out on the limb and say Eller, just might be worth keeping.
Man, this site is so much better after a win.

But honestly I said earlier that it’s strange this site was so busy after the win with happy fans when it seems like thru most of the day on here 50% of posters now want the team to tank.

A great game to watch and an incredible performance, by Eller, to witness!
I found it odd that the Antichambre fellas were a little sour on the PK and Price triple low five. I would say, Let the kids have fun.
He had an Eller a game. (Eat your heart out Ron MacLean)
I would say the Antichambre fellas are joyless twits.

I think the triple low-five was okay for a while, but it’s getting a little stale. Plus P.K. shouldn’t be attracting attention right now and worrying about celebrations. He should lay low and work hard in practice and during games and stop making stupid mistakes and pot a couple during his generous powerplay allotment and then maybe start being the guy with the lampshade on his head.

Lost in it all, Kaberle has tied Cam Ward with 1 more goal than Gomez this year. He’s there to pass, not score goals anyway, just sayin’
can understand sending Louie down, don’t like it …when White comes back they had better unload M.Darche….ffs and the Love of God….don’t make us suffer any longer ..time for him to awake from his dream anyway, send him on his way…whoops !! I’m the one dreamin’ …it will be Blunden …the Goat will be sure to make sure we have enough french/english per capitta …ha!!
take your drink to the end of the bar buddy…come on now, don’t be a fool…
is LL down officially? I can’t see a post on it here, and this is my only source these days. Makes sense though, it’s best he plays a lot there than not much here.
Yes, it’s official.

Man what an awesome win! It may be the Venezuelan rum I’ve drank but this win is great! I’ve had to explain to my buddies down here (I’m down there visiting family) what a good hockey play is, fights, etc. and it’s great to show them les boys won 7-3!!!! Specially since one of my friends asked me how the team on my shirt is doing! I’m wearing a CH shirt and he knows its my team but that’s all he knows – it felt great to explain this win! LARRY!!!!!
24 Cups is all you need to explain why you’re wearing that shirt, no matter how the team is doing in a single season.

Right? That’s the downside of visiting family in South America, but man I’m glad we won this game.. 7 goals!
Larry’s getting soooooo laid tonight.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
When you’re a scorer…
Hahaha! yeah!
If he goes to any bar around the Bell I agree because the girls will now think he’ll stay with the team and can take him home to Daddy

Man… can’t we just tank and win all at the same time?!
The line combos were humming tonight. Eller, AK and Moen were made for each other. I would not touch that line combo – period.
Same goes for Patches and DD. If Max is going to get his groove back it’s with David.
Got to give the Blunden kid props. He’s not embarrassing himself out there.
I hope Lars does this again against the Leafs. We can tank after that…
Absolutely.
The forward pairings that have been magic consistently have been

Eller/AK46

Hard to commit to a goalie that might be playing next year in the KHL?
There a team over there looking for a backup goalie?
I commit to a team. Unlike many here..
Update: Price, Halak posting similar numbers, Chuck.

Except that Halak makes a lot more money and plays a lot less.
He’s earned the more money, and playing on a team alongside another competitive goalie is all good.

Good thing about tonights game for me was it was wednesday night hockey on TSN so now I have the opportunity to watch it once I get home from work. Looking forward to seeing this performance, good way to kick off 2012
Just finished watching the game.
Beautiful!!
Every time Kaberle gets a point I smile and think about all the guys who tried to hang themselves the day the Habs traded for him.
Every time Eller plays a good game, I think back and laugh.
Great night for we fans. Not so great for the loser brigade.

Clearly an enjoyable night, good for Eller. I loved him soaking up the 1st star applause.
I expect we’ll all get another shot at dissecting the Halak deal next week? Surely Hitch knows he’s got to play in MTL even though Elliot’s the current #1.
Looking forward to that game..hoping for a similar result as last year’s game heh.

I hope the fans don’t go overboard saturday night with this picket thing – if anything – they should give RC a vote of confidence – with time and good players he’s gonna be a great coach – so give him a chance – I’m sure he’ll learn enough french to get by on.
Bah, the only fans on the picket are the ones without tickets!

Let them picket, this is supposed to be a hockey team, not a politician’s side show anyway.
It was sweet seeing the Habs score like that tonight but I think tonights win might have been the worst thing to happen to the team. I hope management now doesn’t think they can make the playoffs because unfortunately, they can’t. It is to late and I would rather see them get a high draft pick than finish 9th or 10th.
I’d be just as happy to see this team play to their potential, get home ice in the 1st round and then still make the right moves in the offseason. Just sayin.
Home ice in the first round. Hhahahhaahhahhhahhahhahh. Phew. Good one.
sure, home ice is funny. but the idea that the habs are out of the playoffs for sure is ridiculous. especially because the fundamentals of the team remain strong, the captain and the general may yet lead a charge into the post season!
Maybe we should wait 5 weeks to see where the team actually is at the trade deadline before making those decisions, I’m pretty sure PG is

The Habs won tonight as if, RC was watching too much WJC hockey, he finally realized he could get tips from each team in each country LOL!!
I was at the game tonight, I sure didn’t expect to see my favorite Hab scoring 4 goals, I’ve been a fan of his ever since he was traded here.
Lucky you. You’ll cherish those memories forever.
I have posted for over 11/2 years that Eller would make us forget about Halak. Also now we see why both JM and RC play Moen so much, much to the shargin of many posters. Also Cole was a great pick up by PG who I am not a big fan of ,but have to give credit where it is due.
Mr. Biter
Don’t forget PG also traded Halak for Eller, in addition to signing Cole, getting Emelin over to North America and trading Spacek for Kaberle (who could fetch an asset in a future trade).
Good points.
Mr. Biter
Habs win big, and the coach speaks French during the post-game presser. What in the world are the nutters going to picket about before Saturday’s game?
Beer costs too much in the arena
In every arena.

Repost from other thread:
Two thumbs up for RC for a great job of coaching tonight and starting to make the team transition out of the brutal 0-0-5 System of JM. Keep it up Randy. Win or lose, watching an aggressive two man forecheck with pucks and bodies going straight to the night is a lot more fun to watch than what we have witnessed the past couple of years.
Twice in this game, I jumped out of my seat yelling WOO, a reaction I have not had to a goal in years. AK46′s unreal set up and the Eller-copter.
As for Eller, I could not be happier for the kid and what a confidence builder.

Somebody has to go down, gionta is going to be back on saturday. Louis is better off playing big minutes in the A.
like I just said from the other post, if all Habs fans can ask for a petition to send to Gomez down to Hamilton, NOW and not next season, I’ll agree to sign-up for that.
not a bad thing. LL will be a solid NHL’er but needs some time in the minors. He looked decent in the NHL which will give him confidence. I think this is actually a good thing
Agreed.
I liked him too.
I hope everything works out as planned for him.
Organization needs to be smart with him.
Habs, OLE !
I also like LL but as I posted the other day with the style he plays he has to get a bit stronger , put on a few pounds and he’ll be back to stay next year.
Mr. Biter
Great game.
Despite all the crap this season.
Tonight’s game really made me happy.
Ya, keepin it all in perspective.
Lots of positives moving forward too!
Habs, OLE !
If only Cunneyworth’s mentality were like of Jacques Lemaire’s last yr, it could turn the tide.
Last Season, when the NJ Devils fired coach John Maclean and Lemaire took over again, what did he do, he erased the standings board and started everything from scratch. What that means is that forget the past and start fresh.
This is what Cunneyworth should be doing to this team.
Agreed.
Would be the best strategy at this point.
Assess, Analyze Repeat….
Take advantage of opportunities as they unfold ?
Habs, OLE !
I’m still in shock over tonight’s win. Will I wake up tomorrow realizing this is just a dream?
Eller got to use 4 pucks to throw to the crowd instead of the normal 3 for his first star selection skate – I wonder why ?
I noticed that too. 1 for each goal scored I guess.
