MSO’s musical tribute to Canadiens

The Montreal Symphony Orchestra last night paid tribute to the Canadiens at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier of Place des Arts. For the first time (and we hope not the last), we link you to a story by Arthur Kaptainis, a Canadiens fan and the classical-music critic for The Gazette.

And see below to see the Canadiens’ newest acquisition:

That’s some great hockey hair. It would look great coming out from under a helmet. More Chris Simon than Jagr due to lack of curl.

The music sounded pretty cool to me, especially the HNIC theme (not that I was there, I saw/heard it on TV).

I hope that this was taped, and will be available for purchase. Or at least re-broadcasted, because it sounds like it was an amazing musical experience.

How about we sign these guys to do every game….

The brass section did a great job with the national anthems on Tuesday night (and didn’t have any problems hitting the high notes in The Star Spangled Banner, either).

Don’t you think Nagano could’ve sprung for one of the fancy new jerseys? He looks oh so 2006.

    That is amazing.

    Ex nihilo nihil fit

anyone else notice how the red on the collar of the Canadiens’ jersey bleeds during games when they sweat? It turns this awful pink. You can see it on the white stripe on the collar of the home jersey, and all over away jersey too…I seriously hope Reebok looks into fixing this for next season.
