The Gazette’s Mike Boone, who is moving full time to the newspaper’s sports department in September, recently spoke with Mitch Melnick at the Team 990 to discuss his new role and what it means for his loyal readers.
The former city columnist discusses what his new role will be and what it will be like working with Pat Hickey, Red Fisher and Dave Stubbs on a full-time basis.
And, this being Montreal, Melnick and Boone also discussed line combinations and what they expect the big stories to be this season.

Nice listen, loved the silent treatment you got Boone! Then the gong. Congrats again.
Right, gong, not bong. I think your unique perspective is going to be missed on the city beat, Mr. Boone but the commentariat will be the richer for your full-time addition to the sports department.
