Martin juggles defence without Markov

AUDIO: Jacques Martin | Carey Price | Josh Gorges | P.K. Subban | Jaro Spacek | Alexandre Picard

While the Canadiens await word on Andrei Markov’s condition, head coach Jacques Martin has juggled his defence pairings in preparation for Tuesday night’s home game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

P.K. Subban will play with Alexandre Picard, while Hal Gill is teamed with Josh Gorges. The Roman Hamrlik-Jaroslav Spacek duo remains unchanged.

The official word from the Canadiens Monday is that Markov suffered a lower body injury when he collided knee-to-knee with Eric Staal in the latter stages of Saturday’s 7-2 win over Carolina. He is scheduled to undergo further tests and the team says it will be several days before the exact nature of the injury is known.
