Wow…I can’t believe all the whining on here about Kaberle in the shootout. Does anyone have a memory that goes back further than yesterday? Has anyone watched our forwards in the shootout this year? Has anyone watched Kaberle against the Habs when he played in Toronto?
Better yet, can’t anyone go through the trouble of checking the stats on this thing called the internet? It takes all of 30 seconds to find Kaberle’s career shootout record on nhl.com.
The man has a good record in the shootout. That’s why he was out there.
Sometimes, I think we have the worst/dumbest fans in hockey.
Kaberle is the worst Dman on the team and if he was any good he’d still be on Boston…He has done nothing for the Habs `NOTHING!’
Yeah, nothing. Except for the 9 points in 15 games. Over a full season, that translates to 49 points.
We brought in Kaberle to help on the power play and help our transition game, not to be a top defender. I would say he’s done just fine in those areas.
And how many goals does he cost us? He’s a one dimensional D man who can’t play D and is way over payed and played and is Charmin soft ,which is what a small D don’t need! And by the way Yan ,we lost again!
We were losing before Kaberle got here, and since he’s been here. Hate to break it you Dude, but this team is just lost this year. It’s a throwaway season. Shit happens. One guy isn’t going to make a difference this year. If Markov comes back, it won’t matter either.
While a record stands forever, I think one has to see that Kaberle’s last s/o attempt was over 2 yrs ago and his last s/o goal was in Oct. 2008. That’s a lifetime ago in pro sports.

I cant understand how the hell people are talking about Price being an issue, are these people just stupid?? I also dont understand the Gauthier people, what can he do? its not like we can trade Price or PK or anythign and make this team a playoff team, we dont have enough extra pieces to give up our only good players. I really think the problem is our leadership in general, that team plays with no heart, and our leadership on the team needs to do there job and get the fire lit back under there asses.

There is only one problem this team faces: How to get the most for our veterans as we unload most of them for future and rebuild.

He should play as much as possible until the deadline – hopefully 50% of the games. Don’t risk Price’s injury and perhaps trade Budaj at deadline for a middling prospect to a team looking for a backup.

Without constantly pointing fingers and trying to find someone to blame, this was a great game to watch and there were no floaters.
I’m glad Bourque was sitting in the press box watching this game. Hope this makes him hungry to play tomorrow night. So far, in January, our team is .500. Not the best record, but it ain’t over yet.
It is so over, the only thing left to do is position the team for next season by managing down the cap and trading for draft picks.
Not a bad game, but we can’t score. I hope Bourque is the start of good things to come.

Not only are we playing bad, the Dogs are playing just as bad. They lost again tonight. I know we took some good players out of that system, but if the Habs are going to makes coaching change at the seasons end. I hope Clement Jodin is not a candidate for that position, because he hasn’t done much with the Dogs either.

I guess to be fair, there are three players from Acadie-Bathurst in the top 4 in the Q and he’s the lowest of all of them. He could be a leech benefiting from the other two guys. I haven’t seen him play, but you have to imagine he has some skill.
WTF is Cunny thinking with those shootout decision players? Eller I was OK with, but Kaberle and then Max? Kabbie is a pp QB, a set up man, has he been doing things in practice no one is aware of? I love Max, he’s one of my favorites, but I think it’s time to give him the new nickname of the invisible man because that’s what he’s been for the last month and a half. I think he gets a pass on here because of the way he played when called up last year, the way he played early in the season, and the Chara hit, but I used to get excited when he got the puck. Now I don’t expect him to do anything when I see him with the puck. Getting soooooo frustrated, the Habs were by far the better team on the ice tonight, but they can’t win effin hockey games. At least they got a point. but I’m getting sick of saying that.

Heads up Mike, why don’t you just cut and paste anyone of the last 3 ALN’s and save yourself some rest time. Nothing has changed in any of them from todays out come. Change a name here and there ( take out Cammies ) and you don’t have to get up early in the morning.
Of course we were never going to win the shootout. But Price was better in it than he usually is. And I actually thought the team gave quite a heroic effort tonight, given everything that has happened recently, the crap officiating, and the lucky bounces that never seem to go our way. They played a very strong defensive game and looked the better team most of the time. I’m hoping that next season, the hockey gods (if there be any such) will redress the balance a bit, and a few of the bad calls will go our way.

Kaberle has a good shootout record, but MaxPac is not a pure sniper and should not be selected in shootouts, at least not yet. He’s more of a garbage goal scorer. As for Eller he hardly played in OT and was cold. My choices were Pleks, Kostitsyn, and Desharnais.
I so agree, my choices to what the hell is going on in Montreal.
In addition to getting bigger perhaps we should also look at players that can score!
