Why is it that some players give everything they have every shift (Desharnais, Cole, Leblanc) and some give us only what they want to give, when they feel like it (Bourque, Kostitsyn, Plekanecs). I realize not everyone has the same skill level, but everyone should be capable of a big effort, even the lowest player on the depth chart. Still too many passengers on this team.

That Eller goal is exactly what Gomez needs to do more often. Take a shot, not give a pass.
Worst player on my team is screaming “shoot shoot shoot” all the time. He can barely skate and at 68 needs to finding a new league (we play against 2o year olds but are an avg. age of 43) but he is bloody well right.
How many flukes could we have got this year if we knew how to hit the net?
With all of this interest in Gill, Gauthier should trade him for a third rounder, but the other team has to take Kaberle as well.
And that’s why line-change dump-ins, though I think the puck should be carried in, should be directed at the net.
Flukes happen.
Fleury is not that great of a goalie. He has been lucky to be on good teams.

I’m not knocking that playoff run, though I see how the way I worded the message implied that.
He’s just so inconsistent. Game to game and sometimes even period to period. Usually that’s weeded after 3-4 years but it seems to stick with him. Also his rebound control has always been rather erratic.
Funny, I was watching the performance in the first and second and thinking it was a wonder that anyone is worried about our country’s goaltending … but that was a stinker for sure.
Disclaimer: I was adding Price to that “not worrying” line of thought.
