  1. HabFanSince72 says:

Bob McKenzie says Wings want Travis Moen.

Their #1 is almost like a #2 so that is what we should ask for.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

  2. RS says:

If the Habs start playing a bit better than hopefully the trade value of some these guys will improve.

That is the extent of my optimism. If a playoff team wants Gill, take him for sure. Same with Campoli. AK46 and Moen I have mixed feelings about. But, if they aren’t going to be signed or can’t be signed, trade them. Of course, we’d all be happy to find takers for Gomez and Kaberle but it ain’t going to happen.

  3. RiverviewCanadien says:

    Plekanec is on fire tonight!

And Emelin gets better every game. What a great player he is going to be for a long time. IMO, he seems to have adapted to NA hockey rather quickly.

Hope his contract is extended before the 11/12 season ends.

  4. harrow15 says:

Gomez is going to score on this PP at the start of the 3rd. He’ll either be on with Pleks or DD and Pax. Im calling it.. c’mon Gomer dont make me look like the fOOl!

Heads up, P.K.’s hip is coming.

  5. habs001 says:

Does it mean several lifeless games after this one or can they for once break this pattern this year..

  6. RockinRey says:

Would have love to have seen Kessel with Montreal. Or Grabs the way he is accumulating the points lately.

  7. habs001 says:

Not to pick on the leafs (lol) but ever since the so called burke vs cherry disagreement the leafs who have one of the worst pk in the league have hardly been penalized..islanders had 0 pp chances in back to back games ..yest no pp for the oilers..maybe this year it is the leafs turn to get rewarded for contributing to the leagues well being and make the playoffs..

    • powdered toastmann says:

Funny you should mention that…Kypreos was starting to say the same thing (on the Fan 590 this afternoon) …i.e. and I paraphrase…”the leafs are getting all the calls, it’s crazy…” and then Bob McKeown quickly cut him off.

  8. RockinRey says:

Pleks best game in while . He came on last game but he seemed very disinterested for that last 6 weeks or so……

  9. kempie says:

I sure wouldn’t mind seeing Cooke Emelinized.

  10. immortalhab says:

Leblanc and Desharnais are amazing players. They better tack “ov” to the end of their name if they want to stay in Mtl or they will always have to wake up wondering if they have a job.

  11. Stuck_in_To. says:

Bit of an aside … but to the pundits who are lamenting the dearth quality goal tenders in Canada’s future … I’m not so worried watching this game.

  12. HabinBurlington says:

Leblanc has looked pretty good up with the big boys. 5lbs added over offseason would be nice, will be a nice addition to team.

  13. Adidess says:

Hey Jerk (sorry it’s your name), Subban fell down at a very in inopportune time there. But to suggest he fell on purpose to avoid being hit is completely unjust and disingenuous.
You’re probably one of those people who are disappointed that PK has settled down quite a bit recently, playing really well and helping his team.

    • solomio says:

I don’t know who jerk is but it sure did look like he did on purpose hit the ground to avoid that hit. And I thought that when I saw it happen. Right spontaneous like.

“I figure PG has one or 2 moves left to bring the Habs that extra step closer to perhaps being the best in the league.” – Einstein

  14. RockinRey says:

Haven’t seen them skate like this in a while!

  15. Sotxhabsfan says:

It would have been nice to at least get a shot with the man advantage there.

  16. Ozmodiar says:

The PK is more threatening than the PP.

  17. HabinBurlington says:

Man has Cole been robbed his fair share of times this season.

  18. Trisomy 21 says:

I was just going to post about how I am liking how Eller has developed defensively, and that I only wish him to excel offensively… Then he makes a beautiful backhand spin-o-rama pass to the open man.

  19. topher5468 says:

Damn Bourque, find some twine already

“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”

  20. HabCez says:

OMG.. the PK unit is our PP!!!

    “Emelin’s the real deal.”
    – HabCez

  21. habsfaninboston says:

That was a sick behind the back pass.

  22. HabinBurlington says:

    Another great PK!!!

  23. Sotxhabsfan says:

    Nice pass Eller!

  24. Propwash says:

See, anemic powerplay is the root issue of the Hab’s woes. That is a coaching issue IMO. There is no trying anything different tactics. No crashing the net, all perimeter stuff, hoping for deflections.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  25. Dulljerk says:

Am I the only one who is getting really tired of Subban’s antics? Like conveniently falling when he is going to get hit, or falling when he’s under pressure, or just being a general goof?

“Is the little dog going to yap, or is he going to bite?”

  26. L Elle says:

The PP quieted things down eh?

  27. Adidess says:

My money is on Gomer taking a penalty. Yep, there you go!

  28. joeybarrie says:

With no danger on the point our PP is very very easy to defend. We need someone who can shoot there somewhere.

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  29. HabsFanInSaintJohn says:

LOL Man oh man Subban really needs to learn not to fall so much!

  30. danhabsfan says:

Gomez just wants to get on the score sheet

  31. habsfaninboston says:

    Gomer makes the scoreboard.

  32. Strummer says:

    LL’s theme song has got to be;

    Louie- Lou-eye
    Oh No,

    said we gotta go!!!!!!

  33. Mavid says:

    LL I like it alot….

  34. HabFanSince72 says:

I heard the goal siren, looked at my computer and saw a player celebrating. the 2nd number on his jersey was a 1. I thought … nah … can’t be.

    And I was right.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

  35. Propwash says:

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  36. Rooster says:

What a dope game for louis tonight really liking him with ll and what a great shot right there!!

  37. Sotxhabsfan says:

  38. jedimyrmidon says:

Now *that* was an exciting 5min.

  39. habsfaninboston says:

  40. HabinBurlington says:

  41. solomio says:

Why the Habs will lose this game.
    Pitts has many more scorers.
Habs have a flawed goalie. ( softies)
    Habs have no power play.
    Habs can’t win shootouts
    Habs are tanking

“I figure PG has one or 2 moves left to bring the Habs that extra step closer to perhaps being the best in the league.” – Einstein

  42. Propwash says:

Who said PK couldn’t make the big saves? Oh, wait….wrong Subban.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  43. Adidess says:

    PK is a (gold) keeper!

  44. RockinRey says:

Pleks looks more interested than i have a seen him in a while. He has really been showing his wheels the last few games. Could it be he knows there a ton of scouts theree??

  45. danhabsfan says:

Boy, imagine if Pleks could score on 30% of his chances

  46. HabinBurlington says:

    PK , great great play!

  47. temekuhabs says:

    What a stop

  48. HardHabits says:

You might know me from my HIO comments. Did you also know that I am bi-polar?

How come I didn’t make that Bell commercial?

  49. jedimyrmidon says:

Don’t trade Pleks awaaay (unless return is great, but I highly doubt that will happen).

  50. HabinBurlington says:

Team is playing well, too bad the confidence is such that sawdust is all over the ice from player squeezing their sticks so bad.

  51. Rad says:

I get Cunneyworth’s strategy now … make the game so boring that the opposition falls asleep. Then, once they’re sleeping, we pop in a quick goal while shorthanded and win the game

  52. harrow15 says:

If we trade away Pleks our PK % will drop significantly.

Heads up, P.K.’s hip is coming.

  53. habsfaninboston says:

Props to Campoli for breaking up that 3 on 1.

  54. Adidess says:

Eller needs to pass more when bringing the puck up the ice. Didn’t need to force the play there

  55. tote-road says:

Maybe we could take some more penalties and keep this rally going?

  56. Klondike Habs Fan says:

What is with the survey today?

Are you embarrassed to be a Habs Fan.! Hell No. Helll Noo.
The 796 people who are are either lying or leaf fans at heart anyway.

  57. danhabsfan says:

Anyone notice that our powerplay has more scoring power than the powerplay

  58. jmsheehy19 says:

Pleky just out chanced the Pittsburgh PP

  59. HabinBurlington says:

Plex or DD, I will take Plex thank you.

  60. piper says:

When the Leafs have 11 more cups than the Habs or the Bruins have 18 more cups than the Habs, then I’ll be embarrassed to be a Habs fan.

  61. habsfaninboston says:

Need to cash in on those rare opportunities.

  62. HabinBurlington says:

3 on 1 and no cross pass! Doh!

  63. Strummer says:

Q: Is it cannon- ate-ing or
Cannon-ade-ing that Danny used to describe?

“It’s just an opinion – I could be wrong”
    -Dennis Miller

  64. ont fan says:

Edmonton gets 2nd overall .. they want a defenceman later on..and they keep moving down.. they take your 1st and

  65. Adidess says:

I can’t believe people continue to mention 2012 playoffs in connexion with this team. Give it up, my friends. We’re in 14 or 15th place, depending on the time of day you look at the schedule. That means there are at least 5 teams between us and 8th place. We could be 5 pts out, it would be tough, we’re 12 pts out.
It makes more sense to guess on whether we’ll finish last or not right now.
I understand we’re not mathematically out, but come on. I’ll start hoping for playoffs again when we’re in 10th place and 3 points out.

  66. joshbenn says:

Any way DD is being traded? Plays top line minutes and all of a sudden has a huge drop. If so what do you think we could get for him?

  67. RGM says:

Darche’s 6:05 is 3rd highest TOI for Habs forwards after first period. Malkin played less than a minute more than Darche.

This is why other teams beat us.
GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is probably not our year!

  68. Mavid says:

I like your math Mr. Biter..we win sens lose..double delight…

  69. Stuck_in_To. says:

Drafting philosophy has always been “take the best player at the pick” but the Habs have done their best at that, lost some in bad trades or due to development impatience, missed some, and had to trade some away to get needed parts. Not overly successful … McDonagh. Add to that the complications of cap in regards to trades and the scarcity of centers. So my question is, this draft, should the Habs take the next prospect on “the list” or take whichever center they think is the “next” best in the draft.

  70. RockinRey says:

Anything wrong with DD Mr. Boone?

  71. punkster says:

    No goals and outshot 11-10.

    Trade ’em!

Trade ’em all while their value is high.

    DO IT PG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  72. PeterD says:

DD limited ice time tonight…Pierre working on trading him mid period.

  73. Adidess says:

I thought Kaberle was a puck moving defenseman…

  74. Mr. Biter says:

IF we do happen to win tonight and ottawa loses were 10 points out of a playoff spot with 2 games in hand on ottawa and Jets and caps between us and lots of teams below us (or tied). 93 points may not be needed to reach the promised land this year. Jets and Caps playing .500 hockey so there is still some hope.

    Mr. Biter
    No Guts No Glory

    • HabinBurlington says:

Can’t see the Jets being big players at trade deadline, the mantra there seems to be to build for the long haul. Also not sure Ottawa makes big short term moves considering they weren’t expected to be in this position. Your positivity is very commendable.
