Or he can emulate “one of the games greats”, Lafleur, in similar situation, and retire. Then make a comeback a couple of years later with the Rangers.

that would be awesome, if only PG would acquiesce to his request and trade him to Alaska in the ECHL
No I was watching TSN Montreal Regional Channel tonight and during the second intermission he was in the booth with Dave Randorf while John Lu and Francois Gagnon were in the Habs lobby.
o wow cant get enough of the guy hes on tv now
I support Scott Gomez
why dont we put darche in the shootout too dumb cunneyworth
I support Scott Gomez
Tony M is a moron. He doesn’t know anything about hockey at all. I am certainly glad he is not a GM.
He thinks he knows what he is talking about, just watching him on the TSN Montreal he looks so arrogant.
u mean listening to him not watching
I support Scott Gomez
he was on at the 2nd intermission and I agree.

Tony M likes to compare his ball hockey experience to what goes on in The NHL…….
+1 the guy has never probably laced up a pair of skates

There once was a team in a tailspin,
Its fan base expressing much chagrin.
Its power play was lank,
And so many cried “Tank!”
But damn, they just posted another win.

2 in the books 8 to go for poster Bertuzzi’s 10 W’S in a row.
I am loving your optimism Bertuzzi.
Freakin hilarious that Tony M is still preaching Tanking. That man mentions Pittsburgh and Chicago and says tanking is the only way to win the Cup.
Does he mention the other 20 last place teams over the years that have sucked for decades and not even made the playoffs? NO.
Tanking is for losers.
Make the playoffs, if not take your draft position and draft the best possible player made available to you. Just like 2005. The entire Habs world wanted two French losers and look where they are now.
Where’s all the 2003 draft talk now? AK is solid, and the clowns that everyone was comparing AK to are lost. Carter, Richards, Getzlaf…. Bah humbug.
Keep going you crazy assed Habs, no sense doing things the easy way now.

I second that emotion.
Go Habs Go! (And not to last again, damnit!)
2005 was the year after the lockout, and as such every team in the league was in a lottery… the Canadiens got lucky and managed the 5th overall pick. They made a great selection.
2003 however was a mistake. Carter, Richards and Getzlaf are all still better than AK. AK isn’t a terrible player, but instead of hitting a homerun and bringing in a Hart or Norris canditate like many other teams did, they drafted AK… (Although some later draft picks in 2003 turned out to be pretty good).
Yes they were better than him, but this season no one is talking about them. But will the Habs ever get credit for drafting him? No.

and they shouldn’t, it was a dumb draft pick
I don’t remember why, but I bet at the time, no one cared about that list. None of these guys were even active until three and four years later. By then you know if you made a mistake or not. Heck even I said two years ago we made a bad decision but on draft day you just don’t know. That’s a fact.

no. and my cap hit is not the problem – the hairy back and fat belly did me in – lol
You need to feign an undisclosed lower body injury incurred while taking the garbage out. She can’t trade you if you’re injured

I am going to throw you guys for a loop. I still think the play-offs are not going to happen and still think the Habs should be sellers at the deadline. However rather than Tank™ and enter the draft lottery, they will will finish around 18th to 22nd, because this team regardless of how bad they are, still wont quit, as nobody who plays a game should. I always play to win. However if they can amass some extra draft picks from astute deadline trades I hope that they can use them to move up in the draft.

I agree with that assessment – we should be sellers and there’s too much talent and too much pride to be a total bottom feeder. I hope we have 2 1st round picks and draft at least one center from those two – that organizational need has to be a priority in our draft strategy. Can Gauthier be sensible and think long-term is the big IF. I can only hope.
Price looking lost in SO, gets big breaks. Habs win.
Huh?
SO – stands for shootout. Glad I could help.
Bledsoe was better than Manning
But Manning is getting all the breaks….(I can’t believe I typed that, I kidd of course).

only Hab with 3 shifts in OT…
Ryan White isn’t a tough guy, but he is tough and has jam. Him and another guy willing to give some love when needed would be great for next year’s fourth line. Another d-man with some nasty in him to compliment Emelin’s hitting would also be on my list of wants. Subban needs some back-up to otherwise cut down on idiots taking a run at him. Man, I love PK despite everything. Oh yeah, and can we get a number one center too (not Gomez)
White got 2 goals in his first game in hamiliton. I like the guy and hope to see him back in montreal soon.
I’m with ya.

If White were 6’2″, he’d be a weapon. I think his absence this year really hurt the team. White is fearless, which is not a quality in abundance with many of the current Habs. Even the Bruins seemed to give the young man his due.
totally agree – white is solid and better than darche, blund, nokie, pulsh, etc…
White reminds me of Mike Keane. This team needs players like that again. The Canadiens will not go anywhere playing the likes of Nokelienenses (spelling, whatever….).
Brian Allen from CAR is a career + player on Fla/Car and is 6’5″ 230 and puts up PIM.. that is all i know about him.. could be the big D you want.
Shawn Thornton/Derek Dorsett 4rth line
Probably be rolling with DD, Eller, Plekanec next year…
Darche over 20 minutes…possibly being shopped?
Louis Leblanc 15:16 TOI
His season average is only 11 minutes….
Darche 21:18 TOI
Thoughts anyone???
start blaming him for blown leads?

trade bait.
I said that earlier. I surmised that he is being shopped. But I was jesting. Would be hilarious if the Habs got something of value for him.
I consider anything gained in a trade while trading off a ufa something of value. Especially with a head scout like trevor timmins who seems to find some gems in the with the later round draft picks. Which is what guys like darche and campoli will probably get us.
I am hoping the Habs amass picks and use them to move up in the draft. If you are correct with your suggestion that Kaberle gets the Habs another 1st pick I will do back flips. I still don’t think he’s worth a 1st though. But if he nets one wow that would be awesome.
I thought he played a good game.
Looks like Cunnyworth is channelling his inner Jacques Martin.
He and Pleks on against Malkin and Neil. Line-matching.
Darch, Plex, Moen had the Malkin assignment. It worked.
Gauthier is going to see this and sign him to a long term big money contract.
Why didn’t he get a chance in the shootout?
The great Mr Gill had his usual game, on the ice for both goals and team unable to get out of their end of the ice just about every time he is on the ice. UNREAL
PK & Malkin line……
It’s about time. Darche comes to play. What in the hell is
wrong with Cunny. Did Gomez catch him in an inappropriate
relationship with a sheep. Why is he on the ice at all and especially why is he on the PP. For gods sake, he has not scored a goal in over a year. Now Eller has goals and assists and is well in the plus column. He plays well short handed. He is probably the best stick handler on the team and can carry the puck over the blueline instead of this dump it in and have the opponent shoot it back out. Give him a shot on the PP. Cunny has been using the same PP long enough to get it through his thick head that IT IS NOT working.
Ya If the roles were reversed PK would have a hearing an a fine or suspension. But Letang wont even get a talking to.
I’m sure somehow PK will be labelled as a coward for ducking when Letang ran him at the end of OT.
25 before 14
are we trying not to win??? What Gomez does on a PP with 3 min to play??? HE HASN’T SCORE IN A YEAR!!!! Send him to the Bulldogs or home for all I care.
I posted it before, but I can’t believe they let Letang in the shoot out after what would have been a penalty if the game was still going on.
If it was the opposite way around and PK jumped Letang, he would have been ejected.
Seeing a p1ssed off Pens team, especially Letang, very nice.
Bourque scoring on the 1st shot made all the difference. Gave our goalie and the rest of the shooters confidence. Great game to watch.
Anybody notice PK grabbing his back in pain after he was tackled? I believe he has been suffering from a back injury since before the season began, which is why he only played 1 exhibition game, and why he has had a sub par season.
ya… that pretty boy’s dirty play needs to get looked at by the league… the way he flipped PK could have seriously injure him…
I liked Cunny’s choice of shooters for a change.
Best P.K. game in a while. solid.
Best shootout of the year. Cunneyworth picked the right shooters and some of them actually scored and Price came through with a superstar performance…
It went eight rounds. You think he picked the right shooters?
Missed half the game, glad to see the half that counted.
One observation: Montreal doesn’t need more size or grit. What the team could use is some ballast. They seem to be off their feet a lot.
I agree Letang’s little run at PK is ridiculous. FINE HIM!
Letang’s day is coming. I don’t care who it is, we need our forwards to throw it in his corner and then lay into the bastard. I hate that guy.
What in the world was Letang still doing on the ice. Shouldn’t he have been thrown out. Give him 3 games – ha!
Full props to PK. That’s the guy we’ve been waiting for all season. Play like that every night!!!
Patches tried that. he got suspended

Gomez watch:
11:12 TOI
2:14 PP
0:00 PK
4W – 6 L = 40% FO
0 points
+/- 0
In other words. Apart from the cap hit. Inconsequential.
In other news. Darche plays 21:18. 2nd game in a row where he plays 20+ minutes. 2nd game the Habs win. Ok. They still suck but Darche is an NHLer.
I checked the same scoresheet and it showed he played on the winning team.
The Habs winning with Gomez in the line-up is like a runner winning a race with a ball and chain attached to its legs.
That is one hell of a strong runner we got for a team then.
Yeah, but think of how much bigger those muscles are gonna get if this keeps up! Next season the Habs will finish the 82-game + playoff marathon in first!!
Think of it like a weight on a baseball bat that’s being swung in the on-deck circle. Take that thing off and it feels like a toothpick.
I saw an interesting science show a while back about the concept of swinging a weighted bat, or two golf clubs, or whatever as a warmup.
Admittedly it was in a test setting, but the players — major-leaguers — did consistently better when they just swung a normal bat to warm up.
The toothpick feeling apparently affected their timing.
PK did nothing wrong played Malkin perfectly. Just that Malkin can’t take it when he gets the body laid to him. Letang he is just a piece of . He is lucky that Montreal doesn’t have a tough guy on the team.
I would have clotheslined him coming in that would have slowed him down.
Pittsburgh thinks that they should be handed it to them and that they are owed something. Letang really plays dirty and tries to rub it into the fans and team in Montreal.
Didn’t like it so much when Carey stopped him he didn’t get to do his little queer dance.
agree agree and agree… He is slowly becoming the guy I would most like to jump kick in the face… Although he has a lot of ground to catch on to that Ratchand
He hit Malkin 2 times. Then darch runs at Malkin and skates away in fear while letang comes from the opposite end to tackle PK. That’s bull . Since when was Malkin untouchable. Don’t dress of ucant handle it big boy!
Well that was fun. Cheers all! Until next time.
Way to go boys! Even if I’m a member of the tank brigade, I can’t stand the Penguins. Good battle by PK against Malkin. Letang should’ve been pummeled. Mind you, I’d love him on the Habs. Nice to win in OT for once in a blue moon.
Ahem. Full Moon.
In a game like this, end of season & playoff berth unlikely, Subban in the shootout would have been a nice nod to the seriously good game the man played. Just for fun … something everyone Habs related — paid and paying — deserve.
And kudos to Price for getting that monkey off his back.
Pretty exciting game. Back and forth. Very nice effort overall by the Habs. Most exciting game they have played in a while.
If they can unload Gomez, MOen, Gill, Weber, Kabs for anything. They should get rid of these guys. You can add in Bourque, Campoli….and restock the cupboard.
With that win PG will now pull the trigger on Gill and Gomer for Sid and we’re off to the races
Ooh Aah Habs on the war path
Sid = Kaput
Be honest, now, was anyone really hoping the Habs to lose?
Penguins, I suspect.
You got me there. I should have been more specific. I feel so stupid now. This is not going to help me with my self-esteem issues.
That’s OK. Eller’s goal confused me, too.
Confused Fleury, too.
i think the route should start at the Forum, snake its way to the Bell Center then party time
Just hold it at the usual place….
In your dreams?
UFB! and those refs are crooks but whats new. They deserve this game.
I no longer feel miserable
Greatest shootout for the Habs this season, it was fun.
HABS?? SHOOTOUT WIN??
WHAAAAAAAT!
OMG!!! A 2 game win streak. CA SENT LA COUPE!!!
Holy Sh_t!…Plecanec scored on a breakaway…I’m to buying a lottery ticket!
Enjoy the victory boys, this team isn’t made of quitters like some wish it was! Go Habs Go!!!
I’m not a fan of shootouts but that was great entertainment.
turtleneck power….sens lose..we win…yipeeeeeeee
HOLY CRAP! A SHOOTOUT WIN!!!!!!
Carey Price!!!
Bitter sweat victory. Want them to win and want them to tank!
Know what you mean, obviously love seeing the Habs win but would love a high draft choice.
Congrats boys!
Finally Price for gods sake!!!!!!
I still hate losing by the shootout, but man that was fun.
Makes me wish there was an arena in the town I lived in with a hockey team so I could watch a shootout live.
You know I used to date a hockey rink. Didnt work out though, she was really cold.
Yay!
The tank rolls to a halt.
