Liveblog: Two in a row!

Moen-Bruins

Carey Price shut out the Bruins!
It was Tomas Plekanec who beat him.
What a game!
Can’t wait for Saturday night.

@jlgib – see, HH gets it!?! He goes on tangents but at least he provides more than just the mundane. Your more like a colleague @ work that just bitches all day that everyone can’t wait until you walk away….then we bitch about you. Ha Ha!

  3. HabFanSince72 says:

Boston is known for two things: its universities and its racism. No surprise they’re going after Subban. Bruins are just trying to ingratiate themselves with the filth.

        No, just history and tradition!

Been the same there for a century and a half.

Quietly Boston is the Meridian Mississippi of the North but just more posh!

… the fans of the Boston Bruins now have lost forever any right to complain that “the league” is out to get their team, and that the Montreal Canadiens have some kind of pull inside the NHL home office.

Just another day at the office for Tomas.

Mystery hunt for some of you stat guys:
Find the last Canadien to do what Plekanec did. Score the game winner and the ONLY goal for the opposing team in the same game?

  5. Everlasting1 says:

Anyone notice how fast JM pulled out his pad after Pleks’ goal? He’s clearly the ringleader of an inside gambling scheme, pouring over the numbers on the over/under columns, with names of high rollers using his influence in throwing games with questionable decision making. I suspect the Molsons and the french speaking Montreal mafia are involved. Goatier/Gainey haven’t a clue. JM’s stoic demeanor re poor officiating is notable, hinting as to the scale/magnitude of the operation. Every Gomerless game results in heavy losses though. Time for Plan B..
The league needs to be made aware of the corruption and take action. But profits are up.

The more I listen to Tony Marinaro and Team 990, the more I regret CJAD losing the Habs broadcasts. I have heard more professional sounding high school sports broadcasts. And Marinaro is an arrogant douche. I realize TSN had the financial clout to outbid CJAD, but do the Molson’s really want that group of morons to be the voice of their franchise?!

Insane game in Philly. Third period began with the Jets holding a 6-4 lead. Three minutes later, it’s 7-6 Philly. Another 90 seconds and its 8-7 Winnipeg.

So far the dismissal of the PP’s and PP is working. don’t get too excited yet. when they reel off 5 than I’ll get excited but it’s nice to see them trying to turn it around. this is a better team than some of the fans give them credit for. JM when Gomer returns 4th line please….good center for Nokelainen, Darche/Blunden.

  10. roady says:

gonna have to start playing 60 minutes soon, 40 will not cut it Saturday night…Price the difference again, thank you CP…DD…another strong game. Spacek…solid. Mathieu D’arche…10:31…that’s more like it JM ! Gomez …not required, we have the proof. Plekanec, nice second effort on the winner. 4th line at 1:30….very scary…that can’t happen again…but it will.

take your drink to the end of the bar, buddy…come on now, don’t be a fool…

I’d love to have kane but I would never give up AK for him.
Gomez and a 2nd round pick. AK is one of our better players and for all you naysayers always will be until PG makes another mistake and gets rid of him….

  15. christophor says:

Probably a load of crap, but rumour has it that Evander Kane wants out of ‘Peg. Don’t know what’s not to like about Winnipeg….

Anyways, they say their team isn’t physical enough so send them AK and Moen (and a pick) for Kane. Done deal. Everyone happy, except Winnipeg on July 1.

Kane would be a dream on this team.

Martin will be happy..this is how the habs have won many games the last 2 years…great goaltending, some major errors, and 2 goals on minimal chances… can it work for more than 2 rounds in the playoffs? probably not….solid effort by moen today…the only goal scoring centre we have is plecks..right now it does not look like dd and eller have goal scoring ability in the nhl…looks like 7-10 goals each this year..

  19. Duracell3 says:

Kicking myself for switching away from the Jets-Philly game when it was 4-1….. Insane lack of defense from the Flyers, just generally and in not getting guys out of the front of the net.

Gutsy effort. Habs never took their foot off the pedal once they scored.

With Chara playin’ well below his abilities – he was br00tal in his own end from the get-go – the Br00nz D was exposed for a bit of haplessness.

Thomas was a mere mortal on that 2nd goal while Price recovered from his 2011-12 NHL highlight reel braincramp to prove, once again, he is gonna be expensive in the offseason.

Does Bergy ever lose an effin’ faceoff?

    Coler

  26. twilighthours says:

Where have you been for the past 7 years?

  27. PrimeTime says:

I thought for sure Boone said without scoring on the 5 on 3 Habs would lose…..that reverse thing, I guess! Sure wish we had those enforcers to win against the “big” teams. Well at least our smurfy soft players didn’t suffer too many injuries tonight. They looked pretty scared to play. Sad that the “Biggest and Baddest” teams best player was a mouthy little guy with a bad ink on his leg and all he wanted was a piece of our mouthy guy. Did Pouliot play tonight?? Thought I had read somewhere Julien was going to make him the player JM couldn’t?? Just goes to show most comments here are as smart as BOS fans. Maybe they’ll get their kicks along with B fans after Saturday’s game. Good win boys!

  28. chinahab says:

Let’s talk again in 60 or 70 games.

  29. SnowManHabs85 says:

That was intense game! Pouliot was -1 and had 3rd lowest ice time on the losers team. Actually out hit the B’s 18-17. I love it :D

I wonder what would be like with Gomez in the lineup? Probably some giveaways eh? :P

Go figure. When we have a good first period, we lose. When we have a bad one, we win.

  31. Tharsis says:

It was sooooo nice to see the aggressive forecheck. I loved it, Desharnais and Cole were giving Chara fits in his own end. Beautiful. I especially liked that the aggressive forecheck was in place with a 2-1 lead. There was no sitting back in a defensive shell trying to hold off the attack…

I was a happy camper, great game all around…well except for the Subban Marchand shenanigans.

Gio too, FrankenChara can’t handle him, it’s like a giraffe against Speedy Gonzales. When DD and Gionta were stealing the puck and making him fall on his ass I was killing myself laughing. They’ve got to motivate the other guys, all of them, to bother the Fr33k too.

Ok, for the first time in my life I wanted to see Mtl lose on Wed night because we clearly need to lose Martin. I can’t believe they pinned the responsibility on Pearn and now that they won, the admin think they are geniuses.
I couldn’t want them to lose tonight because they were playing the Bruins- the dirtiest, cry-babiest bunch of classless fckers that ever laced up. Mtl actually played well too. I think it’s only fair that the refs wear Bruins jerseys since they are clearly on that side.
If we always played like this, we could win. But while PG and JM are lovers, we’ll never lose him. These two wins have to convince these boners that they are the smartest coaches in the world.

  42. Bill says:

Obviously JM does things his way, but I was pretty confused when my RDS came back to life and I saw the guys he had on the ice with under two minutes to go. Nokelainen I get, he’s the face-off guy (lost both of them though), and Moen, but Blunden? Gill maybe, but Diaz? I was panicking.

    Well it worked. Somewhat barely.

Awesome game though, totally entertaining and a hard-fought win that the Habs actually deserved despite the fact that Price bailed them out big-time.

    • VancouverHab says:

Come on — Spacek was very solid: every team in the league would take him…especially for a playoff run. His minutes are now manageable for his age, and if that keeps up he will be a huge asset come playoff time (he’d be a VERY highly tradeable commodity if we were, say, out of it…._

  49. HardHabits says:

Wow!!! That reminded me of the kinds of games these teams used to play in the 80′s, with less blood.

    My observations:

Coming back from behind, the Habs played for the second game in a row a more robust game, played bigger, had an aggressive fore-check, were reading Boston’s plays as if each pass was telegraphed and used the 4th line effectively and with significance.

The last two games and every other game before are two completely different beasts.
