Liveblog: Two in a row!

Carey Price shut out the Bruins!
It was Tomas Plekanec who beat him.
What a game!
Can’t wait for Saturday night.

  1. durocher says:

Price gets run the other night, PK tonight, and we don’t have any way to deter such conduct. With respect to 15, 52, 45, we need some real crashers and people who can defend our skill guys.

15, 52, 45 is an improvement on 63, 52, 60, but is still not good enough.

  2. axxerd says:

Come on guys, you can hardly blame Pleks for that Bruins goal. That one is totally on Price.

  3. HabsFanMTL says:

JM is just jotting down his Pool leaders

  4. TOEmastro says:

and a ference salute after the goal from a fan 😀

    Olé, olé, olé oleé

  5. db says:

Regardless what happens I hope tomorrow’s picture is JM writing something down behind the bench after a huge goal. I want eye contact with that goal scorer! JM feels bad for the goalie! I knew it lol. I’m done.

  6. HardHabits says:

    Jets 8 – Flyers 7 so far

  7. Habifax says:

JM writes ==== that 14 is pretty good

  8. otter649 says:

That makes Pleks even for tonight…

  9. Hab-Q says:

That’s sweeter than Plek’s first goal tonite

  10. Bill says:

Saw some animation from JM for a half-second there! Liked it!

  11. Ron says:

Thats the way to shut those as*holes in the stands up.

  12. HabsFanMTL says:

if u think the bruins are bad , they are even meaner when trailing, watch out habs

  13. HardHabits says:

    Nice tip pass by Gio.

  14. Mondou6 says:

Thank god. Buck Foston. ; )

  15. Habbu says:

Max does not look himself tonight

  16. piper says:

    There it is Tommy!

“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”

  18. LL says:

    First MaxP, now PK.

  19. durocher says:

  20. HabinBurlington says:

    EFFF you BOston

  21. Ali says:

now they hurt PK, and we have no one who can even remotely close to respond. pathetic.

  22. habbernack says:

If knuckles is watching this game he’s goin’ nuts watching thornton

ability is what you’re capable of doing.
attitude determines how you do it

  23. db says:

2 man forecheck woulda got that puck

  24. DEANDALLEY says:

Time for Pleks, Cammy, Gio to score a big goal on the Broons!

“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”

  25. Malreg says:

What’s the point in having a guy like Blunden on the ice if he isn’t going to defend his teammates? He was on the ice during Thornton’s last shift and just stood around and watched.

  26. Nobody says:

Durocher, Diaz saved our bacon tonight. I like Emilin but…

  27. AH says:

That last shift by Thornton is all that is wrong with the one to put that puke Thornton in his place!!

  28. EricInStL says:

Ok Mike, what non call on Thornton exactly ????

  29. durocher says:

I’m glad Molson is present, he can see how weak we are compared to other teams, especially our rivals.

    Thanks PG!

  30. HabsFanMTL says:

alex henry for hal gill please

  31. Bradlo says:

How good would Kenopka or Neil look right about now?

  32. DEANDALLEY says:

Boone, not a goaltenders battle. Floppy has not had the prseeure Price has

“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”

  33. Nobody says:

Uh, Durocher, Diaz saved our bacon tonight. I like Emilin and all, but c’mon.

  34. HabinBurlington says:

If I am PK I am sick and tired of being hit and not having a coach or GM who seem to give a F*&K

  35. piper says:

what would it take to get Big Mac out of Pit?
we could have had him for nothing PG.

  36. EricInStL says:

If the Canadiens had Thornton, they would be a serious contender.

  37. Habbu says:

    That Diaz has some speed

  38. Habitant in Surrey says:

    …Carey looking solid, staying high

  39. JoeC says:

    Best refing all year..

  40. durocher says:

Thornton can do what he wants with impunity. Poor Darche is the only person who steps up. He doesn’t belong on a fourth line, no disrespect to him.

  41. stephen says:

Memo to Erik Cole: Next time Brisebois rings you to offer zone clearance advice, just politely decline.

  42. Nobody says:

Chill Boone. The fight was to rest Subban for extra minutes in the third. Its all in the plan.

  43. GoGioGo says:

Just started watching. So Pleks joined the Ryan O’Byrne fan club??

Everybody sing along:If you think Marchand’s a pr1ck, clap your hands!

  44. Habitant in Surrey says:

…by the way, why is Subban back so soon …I thought they both received majors …I must have blinked 🙂

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  45. durocher says:

Cole does not know how to clear the zone.

    Emelin for Diaz, please

  46. sane hockey fan says:

I know that PK is a huge part of our team and bigger than Marchand. But he is not exactly a 4th liner. He has same toi as Cammy, plays on the PP and has one more point than Cammy. It was a terrible fight but entertaining none the less.

Part of what makes PK so good is that he can get underneath guys skin and then back it up on the scoresheet…If hes gonna chirp out there sometimes you gotta drop the gloves. I’m actually glad it happened with Marchand and not a guy like Lucic or Thornton

  47. Rob Maguire says:

Boone: “Gionta has to start scoring.”

I actually forgot Gionta was even on the team. The guy has been invisible.

  48. Mondou6 says:

Gionta can’t hit the broad side of a barn.

  49. Habbu says:

Thomas was moving his glove hand before Gio shot

  50. Taipei 101 says:

    Bloody Thornton..picks on Darche! No wonder he’s a Bruin…

    – Frank Zappa

  51. HardHabits says:

Imagine if the Habs had Grobovksi and SergeiK!!!

They could’ve had the Grabs and the Tits line

  52. JIMVINNY says:

F*cking garbage. Bruins throw punches after every whistle.

  53. Gerry H says:

    Another good night for Spacek.

  54. JasonM says:

I like the part where Gio gets leveled with no puck possession.

  55. DEANDALLEY says:

I remember Cammy saying that this will be his best season ever. Lier!

“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”

  56. Habbu says:

    Brutal shift for Cole

  57. Taipei 101 says:

Can someone mention to Carey Price that the game is on when the ref drops the puck!? He’s calm…too calm sometimes….doesn’t Red Bull sponsor the Habs?

    “Music is the best.”
    – Frank Zappa

  58. piper says:

    we need more than White.

  59. JIMVINNY says:

how is that not interference? Gio hadn’t reached the puck yet.

  60. durocher says:

    Not interference against Gio????????

  61. habbernack says:

    Price is asleep

ability is what you’re capable of doing.
attitude determines how you do it

  62. Habitant in Surrey says:

Boonez Sayz: “I think the league has to get rid of fighting. Tell me that Marchand nonsense wasn’t a Claude Julien strategy against a depleted Habs D. Total BS”

…BS Boonez, fighting is part of hockey …at least NHL hockey, and within reason it is what a large percentage of fans want as part of the spectacle …and there are important emotional releases, and pay-back the officials do not deal with, within the game that is credible

…Your concern should be more on PK smartening-up to recognize that that was not the time …learn how to choose Your time, and not Julien/Marchand suck You in to dummy-time

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  63. Habso says:

I wonder. Would Marchand have done that crap if White was in the lineup? We all saw what happened to the last Bruin who was taking runs at PK, White went after him and forgot to send the invitation. Thats how you deal with bullies.

    • HardHabits says:

Does anybody not see that Marchand is a Smurf!!! I thought the other teams were the bullies. If anybody should be clocking Marchand it should be Gionta, Cammy or Desharnais.

  64. Ghosts of the Forum says:

I could care less about the fight. Care about the next goal. Let’s go les boys!!

I missed the first period, am in the middle of a move — have to watch on a laptop on NESN. Feel my pain for having to listen to Edwards. Did the fans boo Patches? They alluded to something like that, but I find that hard to believe, even for Bruins fans.

  65. Stuck_in_To. says:

Kevin Paul Dupont, the dean of Boston hockey writers, Tweets that Marchand-Subban was a “fun bout”. I give up …

I dunno, but if the pinnacle of Boston hockey intelligence thinks it is good doesn’t that proves it’s bad? Seems he’s making your point for you Boone.

  66. db says:

Subban threw some haymakers (wow auto correct) and then dragged bRat around. That fight was a message IMO saying “I can kick your ass but don’t want to break my hand. “

  67. ths says:

Good for PK stepping up but agreed, not his job we need a plugger /fighter. Moen should be taking on Marchant

Ooh Aah Habs on the war path

  68. dhenry1234 says:

  69. Rob D says:

Boone, that’s true about Julien’s strategy but..they won the Cup with it. Like it or lump it. the Habs have to adapt to a league that is obviously favouring rough styles of play that borders on “goon-ish”

IN the 70`s when the Flyers ran Henri Richard and Co. right out of the Spectrum, they loaded up on tough boys and Robinson hit the ice with guys like Bouchard.

Not to say you can load up totally on goons, but I generally agree you need some bangers who can fight to beat the Broons in a series unles you get unconscious goaltending like the Habs have with Halak/Price. You can’t count on that happening.

I think they Habs know this and some of the draft picks reflect the idea that size matters. A nice blend of big and small skill players

  70. LL says:

Honestly, a very entertaining game so far. Not sure for the right reasons though.

  71. VJ says:

Anyone else notice Philly has allowed 11 goals in their last game and 2/3??

  72. twilighthours says:

Kevin Paul Dupont knows literally sh!t about hockey. Literally. The only thing he should write about is hockey feces.

  73. EnglishHab says:

Does that mean Diaz has a SV% of 1.000?
