Insane game in Philly. Third period began with the Jets holding a 6-4 lead. Three minutes later, it’s 7-6 Philly. Another 90 seconds and its 8-7 Winnipeg.
So far the dismissal of the PP’s and PP is working. don’t get too excited yet. when they reel off 5 than I’ll get excited but it’s nice to see them trying to turn it around. this is a better team than some of the fans give them credit for. JM when Gomer returns 4th line please….good center for Nokelainen, Darche/Blunden.
gonna have to start playing 60 minutes soon, 40 will not cut it Saturday night…Price the difference again, thank you CP…DD…another strong game. Spacek…solid. Mathieu D’arche…10:31…that’s more like it JM ! Gomez …not required, we have the proof. Plekanec, nice second effort on the winner. 4th line at 1:30….very scary…that can’t happen again…but it will.
take your drink to the end of the bar, buddy…come on now, don’t be a fool…
Although I was hoping for PK to knock the … out of Marchand, Im still happy because we know he can.
Beautiful game, back to dominating the Bruins I see.
I’d love to have kane but I would never give up AK for him.
Gomez and a 2nd round pick. AK is one of our better players and for all you naysayers always will be until PG makes another mistake and gets rid of him….
Probably a load of crap, but rumour has it that Evander Kane wants out of ‘Peg. Don’t know what’s not to like about Winnipeg….
Anyways, they say their team isn’t physical enough so send them AK and Moen (and a pick) for Kane. Done deal. Everyone happy, except Winnipeg on July 1.
Martin will be happy..this is how the habs have won many games the last 2 years…great goaltending, some major errors, and 2 goals on minimal chances… can it work for more than 2 rounds in the playoffs? probably not….solid effort by moen today…the only goal scoring centre we have is plecks..right now it does not look like dd and eller have goal scoring ability in the nhl…looks like 7-10 goals each this year..
Kicking myself for switching away from the Jets-Philly game when it was 4-1….. Insane lack of defense from the Flyers, just generally and in not getting guys out of the front of the net.
Gutsy effort. Habs never took their foot off the pedal once they scored.
With Chara playin’ well below his abilities – he was br00tal in his own end from the get-go – the Br00nz D was exposed for a bit of haplessness.
Thomas was a mere mortal on that 2nd goal while Price recovered from his 2011-12 NHL highlight reel braincramp to prove, once again, he is gonna be expensive in the offseason.
I thought for sure Boone said without scoring on the 5 on 3 Habs would lose…..that reverse thing, I guess! Sure wish we had those enforcers to win against the “big” teams. Well at least our smurfy soft players didn’t suffer too many injuries tonight. They looked pretty scared to play. Sad that the “Biggest and Baddest” teams best player was a mouthy little guy with a bad ink on his leg and all he wanted was a piece of our mouthy guy. Did Pouliot play tonight?? Thought I had read somewhere Julien was going to make him the player JM couldn’t?? Just goes to show most comments here are as smart as BOS fans. Maybe they’ll get their kicks along with B fans after Saturday’s game. Good win boys!
If a team dominates the 1st but comes out tied or worse behind it sucks the wind out of their sails and gives wings to the team feeling lucky to come out of said period alive.
It was sooooo nice to see the aggressive forecheck. I loved it, Desharnais and Cole were giving Chara fits in his own end. Beautiful. I especially liked that the aggressive forecheck was in place with a 2-1 lead. There was no sitting back in a defensive shell trying to hold off the attack…
I was a happy camper, great game all around…well except for the Subban Marchand shenanigans.

Obviously JM does things his way, but I was pretty confused when my RDS came back to life and I saw the guys he had on the ice with under two minutes to go. Nokelainen I get, he’s the face-off guy (lost both of them though), and Moen, but Blunden? Gill maybe, but Diaz? I was panicking.
Well it worked. Somewhat barely.
Awesome game though, totally entertaining and a hard-fought win that the Habs actually deserved despite the fact that Price bailed them out big-time.
Come on — Spacek was very solid: every team in the league would take him…especially for a playoff run. His minutes are now manageable for his age, and if that keeps up he will be a huge asset come playoff time (he’d be a VERY highly tradeable commodity if we were, say, out of it…._
Wow!!! That reminded me of the kinds of games these teams used to play in the 80′s, with less blood.
My observations:
Coming back from behind, the Habs played for the second game in a row a more robust game, played bigger, had an aggressive fore-check, were reading Boston’s plays as if each pass was telegraphed and used the 4th line effectively and with significance.
The last two games and every other game before are two completely different beasts.
