WiFi woes at Rexall: Boone will return…

Back home in sunny, warm Montreal, fans will be brewing big pots of black coffee for a game that begins at 9:30 p.m. local time.
There will be bleary-eyed hockey fans at work Friday morning.
But less sleep is a small price to pay for a hockey epic:
The Battle for 28th Place.

An Edmonton win draws them even with the Canadiens at 60 points.

The Oilers have played one fewer game, however, so aW moves them up one spot in the overall league standings … all the way to the dizzying heights of 28th.

Columbus has a lock on 30th, so this game amounts to jockeying for draft lottery position.

Scott Gomez and Aaron Palushaj return from eye injuries, and armchair general managers – yes, there are a few in Montreal – will be asking why Louis Leblanc is in Hamilton to make way for Gomez and Palushaj.

    Kaberle with the assist.

  3. gmd says:

    Nice pass Craperle.

  4. Bill says:

    LOL, Kaberle … FAIL.

  5. Bill says:

Question for the guitar players on here: anyone tried a Jekyll & Hyde od/distortion pedal? I am thinking of picking one up for $80 … sounded great in the store. Could replace my Tube Screamer and Big Muff? Any thoughts?

  6. Chuck says:

    I miss Boone’s sunny disposition.

  7. shootdapuck says:

Might as well play a man short when Webber and Krapberle are on!

  8. L Elle says:

    Did Gomez swallow DD?

  9. Just A Guy says:

    hmm no DD?

  10. Propwash says:

campololol.. Somebody posted that on Justin.tv

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  11. Mavid says:

Lurch as in the Adam’s family..that is who he looks like..and he is about that smart too…

  12. Adidess says:

Anyone saw this coming? Patches with a 30-goal season after what brute Chara did to him last year…

  13. Bill says:

Swear to God, ever since Ryan O’Byrne, I cringe every time a Hab skates the puck near their empty net.

  14. FlyingFrenchie says:

One more and we’ve reached our quota.

  15. Habbu says:

    And Rexall goes wild

  16. Propwash says:

Gomez sucks, he had absolutely nothing to do with that goal.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  17. HabinBurlington says:

Gomez and the 3d visor! Assist machine, he’s back baby!

  18. Bill says:

Gomez goes to the net with speed …where the hell has that been for the last two years.

    Full Breezer 4 Life

  19. gmd says:

Who is this guy pretending to be Gomez and why is he helping to ruin the tank plan?

  20. Mark C says:

    Nice play by Gomez.

  21. nova scotia vees says:

F.Y.I…regarding the comment that “lurch” laid that horrible hit on Patch….it wasn’t lurch…it was Chara. I always think of Lucic as “lurch”, but I can understand the confusion when there are so many neanderthals on the Goons (aka Bruins). I wish the Habs would dress someone from the MMA just for the next Boston game and have him pound the living daylights out of Chara or Lucic…whoever he can get to first…before they toss him.

  22. habsfan0 says:

“Live blog lite again tonight, guys.”

    Boone wasn’t kidding.

  23. HardHabits says:

Habs are all like, “we can win this game. The Oilers are going to pick a defence man any ways.”

  24. Mavid says:

there is nothing you can do about cheering when they score..its all part of being a habaholic…just em braise it…

  25. Habbu says:

Wondering if there is any other team that has fans lined up three deep to watch their team warm up in the opposing team’s venue?…..I am thinking 8 thousand Habs fans at Rexall

  26. L Elle says:

They have already tanked. They didn’t mortgage the future to make the playoffs. They unloaded contracts and players, some like Gill that would’ve been useful in the postseason.

They accumulated picks and prospects. They have a figurehead coaching the team. They can’t do any more to tank. It’s done.

Next comes the draft and rebuild (or whatever you want to call it), but before all that, they need to play hard every game, and finish this season from hell, on a positive, in preparation for next season; so…Go Habs Go!

  27. Mavid says:

one year anniversary of the horrible dirty hit that scumbag Lurch layed on Max…seing it again makes me very angry….

  28. Adidess says:

One thing I am having trouble with as part of the tankwagon is how not to cheer when they score. I always forget and go yeah before coming to my senses. Any advice on that?

After a loss, it’s easy now, loving the idea of a top 3 pick. But during the game, I need help to want them not to score πŸ™‚

  30. kempie says:

    How awesome is Kaberle?
And, speaking of awesome, how about that Weber/Campo pairing?

  31. shootdapuck says:

Gotta love those cut rate ISP’s?

    Eh Boone!

  32. habsfan0 says:

    Why doesn’t Boone use 3G or 4G?

  33. Adidess says:

Subby has played so much better of late. Getting comfortable near the middle of the blue line on the power play.

    • Mondou6 says:

      I agree. He’s looking better.

I wish he’d shoot more, and shoot with a more controlled shot, instead of that exaggerated slap shot where he brings his stick up pointing to the ceiling.

If he could get his shot on net more, he’d score a lot more goals.

    • Bill says:

He’s actually been lights-out great since game ten.

      Full Breezer 4 Life

  34. Propwash says:

I wonder if Boone checked if his wifi switch was in the on position….

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  35. Mondou6 says:

The Wifi is down in the bar across the street from the rink?

  36. HabinBurlington says:

Gomez on the pp = magic!

  37. L Elle says:

    Beware the late one…hehe

  38. FlyingFrenchie says:

Boone’s live blog reminds me of the days of Morse code and the pony express.

  39. Mavid says:

    subbey doo…lots of cheers…:-)

  40. 24moreCups says:

    Gotta love PK!

  41. Propwash says:

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  42. Adidess says:

Exactly right. In fact this is a 4-pointer. We can’t lose this game, by which I mean we can’t afford to score more goals than the Oilers. Hehehe…

Listen, I just don’t get upset anymore when they lose knowing winning to finish in 12th place isn’t any better

  43. HabinBurlington says:

Tomorrows Gazette game story by Boone may resemble very closely the AP game story I am guessing

  44. slapshot777 says:

Brutal officiating blown call on Campoli and interference on White. If there is one thing the NHL should be doing is making sure the officials are accountable for their on ice calls and make them better to call what is happening.

  45. calvee123 says:

It is still hard to watch the canadiens lose. As much as it is good for their draft position. It reminds me of Buckley’s Mixture. Hard to take but it works.

  46. 1973Habs says:

The over/under for # of beers that Boone has had since wiki is down is 5

  47. Propwash says:

    Oh hey, a penalty.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  48. HabinBurlington says:

Still don’t have the hang of this tanking thing, 1-0 Edmonton, so we are winning?

  49. punkster says:

I expect the next communication from Boone, a text via Stubbs, will be from a local watering hole where he is hunkered down in a corner booth where he has cleverly disguised the Rexall Place main wifi router card as a beer coaster.

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  50. gmd says:

Now Stubbs has tweeted that the wi-fi being down is just an excuse and that Boone is likely on a bender.

  51. Adidess says:

My Gosh, so we’re really going to pick in the top 3.

You know what, I hate to say it but this is much better than finishing in 10th place. It’s bad when you’re in the basement every year, but if you’re going to miss the playoffs, not the worst position to be.

Yeah, rationalizing tanking… all we have left really

  52. 1973Habs says:

Wiki is down? If it’s down for 16 more months we can rename it “Gomez”

  53. Chuck says:

I think that Kaberle needed to hold on to that one a little longer.

Being a Hab fan is like buying real estate: only over the long-haul will you appreciate the true value of your investment.

  54. calvee123 says:

Habs were not skating. But no luck either, fail for Nail!!!

  55. shootdapuck says:

Webber, what a talent that quick first pass directly to an Oiler up the middle no less!

Back to Chocolate and cukoo clocks after April 7!

  56. sreuel says:

I guess Boone fell asleep ibis blog isn’t moving or again bad site problems

  57. L Elle says:

To sleep or not to sleep that is the question

  58. HabFab says:

And now for some good news, this just in.

Morgan Ellis scored his 50th point tonight in 57 GP.

  59. ths says:

    8:11. Gomez still CBF ed.

Ooh Aah Habs on the golf course

  60. gmd says:

Stubbs has tweeted that the Rexal wi-fi is down.

  61. Adidess says:

Paying the ‘Price’ for taking a bad penalty. See what I did there!?

  62. Someone predicted 3 PP’s against tonight.

  63. HardHabits says:

Oilers are like, “we can finish 3rd because we are going to pick a D man any ways and we know the Habs are going to pick a forward.”

  64. Chuck says:

Just how does a team with the best powerplay in the league suck so bad?

Being a Hab fan is like buying real estate: only over the long-haul will you appreciate the true value of your investment.

  65. nellis13 says:

So which line’s supposed to be the 4th?

  66. Chuck says:

Gretzky? Messier? The Oilers will retire the number of just about anyone.

Being a Hab fan is like buying real estate: only over the long-haul will you appreciate the true value of your investment.

  67. FlyingFrenchie says:

Good thing the blog is live.
    Cause the team is dead.

  68. nellis13 says:

    This game’s for second place.

  69. shootdapuck says:

Has Boone fallen prey to one of the true most boring cities in Canada?

Admunchuk yech, the players who moaned about Winnipeg had never been exiled to gulag Admonton.

  70. Adidess says:

Agreed. Price is on his game tonight πŸ™‚

  71. Propwash says:

Anyone have an online feed? Mommabear wants to watch her show, and babybear is asleep. If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nooobody happy…..

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  72. Adidess says:

Man, makes me feel so warm inside to see Gomez on a line with Palushaj. It feels just so perfect, you know…

  73. joeybarrie says:

10:36. Nothing happening. But Price looks focused.

  74. 1973Habs says:

I guess Sam Gagner winning the Molson cup for Feb was too much for Boone..he couldn’t go on.
