The Canadiens, who hold the No. 25 pick at the draft, announced Friday that they have signed forward Michael Blunden to a one-year, two-way contract extension for the 2013-14 season. No financial terms were released.
Blunden played only five games with the Canadiens this past season, going pointless and picking up four penalty minutes while averaging 8:20 of ice time. In 54 games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, the 26-year old posted 10-12-22 totals with 76 penalty minutes.
