Canadiens right-winger Alex Kovalev has been awarded the December portion of the Molson Cup. It’s the second straight month he has won the award.
Kovalev scored four goals and added 10 assists in 14 games during the month and a plus-7 rating.
For the month, he recorded 13 Molson Cup points, edging Christopher Higgins, who had 11. Kovalev leads the overall standings with 31 points, four ahead of Cristobal Huet and Higgins.
The Russian forward will be honoured before Thursday night’s game.
