Komisarek back, Higgins still out

Defenceman Mike Komisarek returned to Canadiens practice in Verdun today after having taken yesterday off for treatment. Forward Christopher Higgins remained out, however, missing his second straight day. Higgins has been troubled by a wonky groin this training camp.

Guillaume Latendresse, in Higgins’s place, was skating with Saku Koivu and Alex Tanguay. Kyle Chipchura was used in that slot yesterday.

No word yet on the waiver status of D Alex Henry and G Marc Denis. NHL clubs had until noon today to claim either. If they were untouched, they were headed to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.

I like the two Long Islanders. Hope Komi can get a big order from BG sooner and hope BG doesn’t use Higgins to trade for so-called big fish…

I hope there’s no rush to get those affected by the epidemic of wonky groinitis back in the lineup. These types of injuries can be nagging if not allowed to heal properly.

2 players that better shine this year on the team.
    Lats and Higgins!
