For Canadiens prospect Ryan McDonagh, hockey has been a way of life from a very young age, and even though he hasn’t see a paycheque for all his hard work, his drive to make it to the next level has never wavered.
He has been part of the U.S. development program for several years and will be continuing his development at the University of Wisconsin this fall.
But McDonagh couldn’t wait to get to Montreal for a taste of the city and the organization.
“It was awesome, the tradition and the history this franchise has. It’s great to be a part of it,” he said. “I wanted first and foremost to meet the staff, see the city,” he said. “And I really wanted to meet some of the guys to see how I match up against them, to see where I stand on the depth chart.”
