I would love to get an Android version of this. IMO when someone writes an app the scripts should be translated so blackberries, iPhones and Androids can all have a version. I also wish than man would discover warp drive but thats not happening anytime soon either.

Apparently they only care to support the greed that is Apple… too bad because I would love to have the app on my Android phone.
Android would be lovely – get Boone on it, he’s obviously tech savvy thanks to his new fancy blog format!!
Bug report: the non-live blog part of Boone’s posts are not showing up in the app. So right now we’ll have to flip back and forth between the app an the mobile site to view all the content on his page during games.
This is something we’re working on. Once the live blog kicks off, you can follow Boone’s posts in the app. Thanks.

As many have suggested already, gotta get it working in landscape view.
You’ll find a lot people won’t use it, at least in terms of comment posting, if you can’t switch to landscape. Portrait view is a HUGE pain to type in.
This should be priority #1.

And it’s way slower than my browser, and it won’t switch to landscape view, and it looks silly at 2x view…. And I guess I just don’t like it. Oh well, I hope it works better for everyone else.

The Android platform may have a larger hand set market share…but from a software perspective, fragmentation will never allow them to catch up to Apple and the iPhone. By in large, developers just prefer iOS…so Apple will continue to have superior quality and quantity in terms of apps.

Yes, you’ll be able to view Boone’s live blog and post comments on the app. Just tap the scoreboard on the home screen once the game starts. You can also get it to it via the Boone link on the home screen.

Just logged in to say thanks for your hard work! HIO web staff are often maligned and always unsung.
Personally I find the iPhone app is pretty terrible on the iPad. Maybe that’s to be expected. But it has one awesome side-effect: I no longer have to forcibly leave the “mobile version” of the site, I get the good old normal version default again in the browser. That, I do like very much, so thanks!

My girlfriend prefers Android, Getting the Nexus S as soon as it’s available for purchase (Not on contract, Carriers tend to only want new contracts)
This site is still tops for me. Desk top works great, Itech pocket scan works perfectly, along with my chokecherry pod apps, it can go everywhere. I just love keeping up with all this technology.
I can’t wait for the delivery of my accordion 48″ screen that fits into my pocket.

I never understood why some apps don’t have landscape keyboard.
If this isn’t just the product of some wordpress-to-app app I’d be surprised, so if it exists for Android I’m sure it will happen.

Not that it matters, but iOS is in fact the market leader by far. There’s a tablet market beyond smartphones that’s still very much dominated by Apple. I’m not a fanboy or a gadget freak but you’re barking in the wind on this one.
It makes the most sense, if you are testing the app waters, to develop for the platform with the widest audience.
But it’s slowly declining, why design an app for something that’s constantly loosing popularity?

As I said, iOS goes well beyond smartphones. Your link isn’t counting tablets. Naturally iOS smartphone share is less now that there is competition in the mobile phone industry. But what other single OS platform has the reach of iPod, iPod touch & iPad all at once. Why develop an app just for smartphones if you are testing the waters?
not to mention, iphones are only made by apple and up untill january, the at&t exclusivity in the states
