Higgins waits for OK

It appears that Christopher Higgins will be back in the lineup tomorrow night when the Phoenix Coyotes visit the Bell Centre. He skated yesterday with Robert Lang and Sergei Kostitsyn but a final determination on his status won’t be made until tomorrrow morning after he meets with the team’s medical and coaching staff.

"He had a good practice and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow morning,’ said coach Guy Carbonneau.

In any case, Guillaume Latendresse will continue to play on a line with Saku Koivu and Alex Tanguay. Latendresse has a goal and four assists in his first four gamees.

Defenceman Francis Bouillon is also awaiting but he’s doubtful for tonight’s game. He and Mathieu Dandenault formed the extra defence pair at practice yesterday. Carey Price will start in goal.

2cents – I’m bugging krob from the Kingston area more than you. Krob was famous for making a statement in his 1st paragraph then adding in the next ten paragraphs “i’m not saying he’s” or “he could be better at” etc. and you were exhausted by the time you finished it with all the typos. Then if you replied he would always say, if you read my post correctly. We are on the same page on Lats and you described him perfectly and i also like well rounded players rather than those that only bring a few skills to the show and people think that they are great where as there is a lot thats lacking. Pac is in the right place and is being oriented to our style which is the proper thing and he should be of great value to our organization. Sorry for the late post but i was doing a few errands. I’m a little nervous about tonights game and i hope we don’t come out flat. Keep up the nice posts i always read them. Go Habs Go.

RDS today is saying at http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/261875.html that negotiations are intensifying between Canadiens and Wild:

trade would include Halak, Higgins and first rounder for Gaborik.

    Might explain Higgins’ absence tonight.

The fact that Lats, Andrei K and Sergei K with a guy like Pacioretty or D’Agostini waiting in the wings could give credence to this trade. D’Agostini has 2 years under his belt. With Denis doing v. well in nets in Hamilton and Desjardins probably ready for full-time duty in Hamilton, there could be some truth in these rumours.

They key is NOT to lose McDonaugh. We love what Higgins brings to the table but you have to give up quality to get quality.

P.S. read Eklund at HockeyBuzz http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/Gaborik-to-Montreal-e3-more-rumours-and-Toskala-is-Amazing/1/17361. Interesting.

    Kovalev – Plekaneck – A. Kostitsyn
    Gaborik – Koivu – Tanguay
    Latendresse – Lang – S. Kostitsyn
