Canadiens Hall of Fame coordinator Catherine Richard, the granddaughter of Habs legend Henri Richard, pauses Friday to take a look at a display honouring the Pocket Rocket.

It was in the planning for three years but took 100 seasons to provide all the material. And now the Canadiens have thrown open the doors to their own Hall of Fame, downstairs at the Bell Centre.
Nearly 1,000 artifacts, from historic jerseys to breakfast-cereal premiums, are featured in this remarkable multimedia museum, the Canadiens celebrated from their birth through the modern-day club.
The Hall opens Saturday morning at 10 am and will welcome visitors six days a week. Visit the team’s site here for more on hours and admission costs. Here’s Stubbs’s feature story on the Hall. Click the tabs atop the story that loads to see a photo gallery by The Gazette’s Dave Sidaway, and a three-minute video tour produced by John Kenney.
If you’re a Canadiens fan from Montreal, or are planning a trip to the city, this is a must-see. It’s absolutely worth a leisurely visit.
