Why boo Halak? No man, i’m not one of those idiot Halak fan boys. Just pointing out that Halak had a bad game and Price gave us a chance to win against the flyers and most other playoff teams, Halak on the other hand not so much 5-8-1 is his record?!
Well documented? Are you kidding me? Please show me 1 evidance other than people’s opinions and a couple of pictures 1 of which was taken while HE WAS ON VACATION.
What insight into the inner workings of this team! You seem to refer to innuendo and rumours as fact, meanwhile everyone in the organizations applauds the amount of work this kid has put into his off-ice training of late.
If I had a penny for all the things you don’t know about this team and hockey, I’d have enough to buy this team from the Molsons for twice what they paid.

Martin would not do that he would have them line up on the blue line and say this is where I want you to be if we score the first goal we are not a pressing team with the lead we sit back and hope for the best.
Am I sensing a little sarcasm? Price has never been good against them either so it’s pretty much roll the dice, haha.
Personally, I like both goalies, so I really don’t care who starts. I just wish people would focus their booing on the opposition and not our own guys.
Good to see JM is giving you the inside track on how the Habs are going to play out their final 5 games. I never caught your title, what position with the Habs do you hold?
To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.
Would love to see Lapps(and his linemates) have a big game tonight. Saw one shift of great grinding vs Car, combine that with the top two lines rolling and some goaltending= victory mtl 5-3
glad to see you’ve followed halak and price with their off-ice workouts and routines in order to determine who works harder. must be nice to have such an eye witness account to their habits. how does one go about getting the ability to follow the two goalies around away from the rink.
Statement game for Halak then. With a great game tonight he can further his campaign to be one of the better goalies in the league right now. I feel he will be awesome.
Yes cause thats how they got to where they are right now,by not being able to beat anybody. Shows how clueless you are. Go back to arm wrestling the purple storm trooper

Gee , you know, I have never heard anyone talk about any of this. The reports I have read is Price has become one of the hardest workers during practice. Guy Lafleur smoked like a chimney. I would think that some further evidence is needed before these assumptions can be stated as fact.
Or could it be those 18 players are sick of his lax off ice training and disciplin?. Maybe teh got sick of seeing his weight go up and down? or the fact the kid still sneaks smokes from time to time?
Respect is a two way street – and takes time to rebuild.
Pretty obvious we have 2 different teams. Easier to trade 1 player. I’m not saying trade Price but something needs to be done regardless of what’s going on behind the scenes.
This Goalie debate is done, people. Over – finished. Halak has out preformed, outworked (especially off the ice) and outplayed Price ALL SEASON. This team wins with him and nets, for better for worse.
Price will not see the ice for the rest off the season (unless we clich or get eliminated from the playoff race).
Its time for all you “fanboys” on both sides, to get behind he symbol on the front – not the name on the back. Montreal wins tonight the odds of this team making the post season are almost 94%.
The Habs’ scorers will make Boucher look like Brodeur.
Seriously though, in my opinion we have 4 natural scorers (supposedly): Cammalleri, AK, Gionta and Pouliot. All of which should be able to score between 25-30 goals per season. Combine these guys with our 2 playmakers/passers Gomez and Plekanec and we are supposed to have 2 pretty decent scoring lines…
So I think it’s really messed up that this team isn’t scoring. But the answer is clear: they never get any of their own rebounds! Why? Because no one goes to the net. On the Gomez line, Pouliot should go to the net. On the Plekanec line, it should be AK. On the Moore line, it should be Moen. Why don’t they do it?!
Because of the injuries all year we have some very important older players who have played more than the should have. We also have guys playing hurt. No need to put more stress on their bodies than is absolutely needed. If they do not know what they need to do to be successful at this time, a morning skate is not going to help them anyway.
the goalie controversy is inevitable when you have 2 good young goalies. I much rather have the habs current situation than what the flyers have in between the pipes. Hopefully the habs start strong tonight and light the lamp early.
If it is true, that the guys play better infront of Halak then when infront of Price, I know 18 players who need to be traded right now !!! I do not buy this line of thinking for a minute.
Halak and Price have been playing great but as a habs fan it’s very clear that there’s a different chemestry on the ice when Halak’s in net. Not taking away anything from Price but he’s not getting the results. Not his fault either as he has stood on his head many times. It’s all about the rest of the team. They play better in front of Halak. Life doesn’t always work out like we want it to. It’s possible that theres some tension between Price and some other players and it flows onto the ice. Is it possible that Markov and Price are at odds?? Who knows. All I know is we need wins and we need to get into the big show or the whole season means nothing. GO HABS GO!!!
Yeah the goalie talk is boring you’re right. I hope Cammy gets it going too, and that Gionta, Gomez get back on track. If those two lines can heat up that’ll be perfect. That’s the one-two every team needs to win two first lines.
Who would win the game then? Halak for the Habs or Price for the Flyers? My bet would be on Price all the way and maybe a shutout to boot. Price should have gotten the start tonight. Flyers wins!!! Flyeres wins!!!!
I have a friend who’s lawyer… He’s really scare people from his office might get a hand on some pictures of him, drunk, with a pineapple on top of his head and a cigar in his mouth… while he was ON VACATION!!
Damned be his wife for uploading those pics on Facebook under the name “Family Summer Vacation 2009 – Cancun”
Apparently it took 78 games for the majority of the people to realize that the debate on this team is waaaaay far from the goalies… An interesting poll would be to ask fans from the other 29 teams how much they would like to have Price-Halak as their goalies…
At least he made it to the bronze medal game. Which was just short of a miracle, and largely because of him. His overall goalie performance was considered the 2nd best in the tourney BTW. The other guy wasn’t even a top 6 consideration for team Canada. So think before you post. And if you insist on saying a goalie blows a lead by himself, even though the Slovaks took like 4 penalties in a row during the 3rd, then you have to say Price blew the 2 goal lead in Buffalo and then got torched in the shootout on his own….I shouldn’t even get sucked in, but the nonsense people like you spit up, is beyond reason.
If he had won the game he was a shoe in for the first star, i think he played that well. He was the reason this wasn’t a blow out. Too many nights this season the goalie in our net has to be one of th three stars for us to win, or at least close to it.
If a goalie has to win you games with a shutout, then your team sucks, thats all I have to say about that….sorry

Hey don’t get me wrong. The rest of the team did not even make the top 10 best players on the ice. Including some absolutely hidious performances from Ak, Spacek, and Gill but the best plays, and players belonged to Carolina sorry. Can you honestly say anyone on the CH made as much of a difference as the three players I mentioned above?(Sutter, ward, stahl) I don’t think so. I like Carey Price as a future starter, I hope he has an unbelievable season here or somewhere else next year so don’t get me wrong, that kid has it.
I see. Price gets no slack whatsoever, but Halak blowing a two goal lead in the third period is well in the words of his fan club…”irrelevant”. Big stage, big game, big choke.
Gotta say I think JM got it right. The team lost and what is he supposed to say? Carey did a great job tonight? I don’t think so. He went as far as saying Carey didn’t lose it for the team, but he didn’t win the game like one Mr. Ward did for his team. As for the booing we already saw Gainey try and call out the fans for Brisebois and that didn’t do anything. The fans will think what they want to and so be it. At the end of the day it’s the supporters of Canadien’s hockey that pay the bills.
By the way I didn’t see one star one the Canadiens wednesday night it should have been Sutter, Ward, Stahl 1 2 3. I hope we play much better vs Philly tonight Go Habs Go !
So sorry, but the coach has to stand up for his players in that situation. I’m as big a Halak supporter as there is (as he is by far the better goalie), but booing Price – especially after a good game – is just stupid. He is a member of the team, and deserves respect. And anytime a goalie lets in 2 or less goals, he did his job well

if we were the flyers, then goaltending decisions matter. but, let’s face it, both halak and price have been giving our team the chance to win. hopefully, cammy gets scoring tonight. pleks needs to pick it up. ak, although not scoring, has been one of our best players of late.
like boone, i hate the flyers. nothing would be better than putting a dagger in their playoff hopes.
You guys are Morons talking about the goalies, we need goals, were pathetic keeping the puck in, although we got a PP goal, our PP is pathetic, hardly get a proper set up going. Cammi, Markov, gomez, Pleky, gionta pouliot, AK46, need to produce every night. Sorry for this childish name calling but this whole board is childish.

OK – then explain why this team plays so weak when he is in nets?
Lafleur was in a different era – apples to oragnes. NHLers in the 70s didn’t train 365 days a year.
Why boo Halak? No man, i’m not one of those idiot Halak fan boys. Just pointing out that Halak had a bad game and Price gave us a chance to win against the flyers and most other playoff teams, Halak on the other hand not so much 5-8-1 is his record?!
one way to generate more offence is by getting your D implicated in the offence.
that’s why MOBILITY has become the catch phrase for D-men these days.
Markov is excellent – world class – but he IS LIMITED by the fact that his partner is a #5 d-man playing along side him.
Larry Robinson had Serge Savard next to him (or next to each other, however you wwant it).
MARKOV NEEDS TO GET MORE IMPLICATED IN THE OFFENCE – pair him with someone else who can hold down the fort while Markov gets involved.
have you seen how Markov plays 4 on 4?
we have one the top 10, MOBILE d-men in the world in our lineup.
LETS GET MARKOV GOING!!
exactly, bench halak for life. you should go “booooo” halak to make everything even lol
Philly 3, Habs 2 -> Price in nets
Philly 6, Habs 2 -> Halak in nets
Price gave us a chance that Halak never did less than 24 hours later.
Well documented? Are you kidding me? Please show me 1 evidance other than people’s opinions and a couple of pictures 1 of which was taken while HE WAS ON VACATION.
Heck, most Quebecers smoke!
i don’t like halak because he doesn’t really have any potential lol
haha, he’ll get 2 assists from the huge rebounds he always gives up lol
man if the habs can’t get 4 past boucher, i mean this forum will just turn nasty

All this is is mud slinging, it is overblown, and it is a non starter.
Again, read a bit about Guy Lafleur…..makes Carey look like a choir boy.
I hope so we will win 1-0
Remember Timo is out here in Calgary. 2 hours behind. I’m sure he’ll show.
Martin would not do that he would have them line up on the blue line and say this is where I want you to be if we score the first goal we are not a pressing team with the lead we sit back and hope for the best.
Sadly.
i think halak might score a goal on boucher tonight lol
So out in the first round by your predictions?
Six game streak, then six game slump. Time for another streak. That’s how we roll:)
Am I sensing a little sarcasm? Price has never been good against them either so it’s pretty much roll the dice, haha.

Don’t disagree with the sentiment about the goalie debate but how do you figure the 94%? I need something to brighten my day.
Halak was GREAT against the flyers in his last game against them. Let’s hope he doesn’t replicate that effort!
Bye Bye Martin it’s that simple and get a coach in there that knows how to run and gun
LOLOLOLOL….It will never be over with people like here who keep throwing gas on the fire!!!!!!
I don’t think it is as obvious as it is made out to be. I see the same team no matter who plays goal.
Cool. I hate the flyers. If we can beat these thugs and not lose anyone to injury, it will be a very good night.
Gee , you know, I have never heard anyone talk about any of this. The reports I have read is Price has become one of the hardest workers during practice. Guy Lafleur smoked like a chimney. I would think that some further evidence is needed before these assumptions can be stated as fact.
Since Price is so horrible why doesn’t Gauthier just let him play for the Flyers tonight?
I guess Halak will score all three goals also I hope the Habs win but we are playing one pissed off team tonight.

Once they get out of the slump they will be fine.
I’m predicting a 3-1 Habs win and 45 saves for Halak.
expect a loss tonight. habs are incapable of scoring and incapable of beating an above 500 team.
come to think of it, they can’t beat a below 500 team as well.

Yes, Halak was average against the Islanders, but two shutouts in a row cannot possibly be called average. He made great saves in those two games.
Habs will win against Carolina and the Leafs!
JM is a (), way to find excuses for the loss.. Pathetic.. Hope we get a new coach next year..

No, Price didn’t make it to the Olympics.
What the hell do the Olympics have to do with the regular season? Using that logic, Brodeur should not play again at all.
If there was a forth star price had it. But he was not one of the top three on the ice. He played well enough but he did not win the game.
How well did Halak fare against the Finns with a 3-1 lead going into the third period?
I can’t seem to remember.
That must have been Price’s fault as well.

Win, definately not. Halak goes the whole way, from here on out. Lose, well then, the debate begins.
Is this the right call by Coach Martin? Not sure. I guess you can’t go wrong with Halak as he’s given the Habs the best chance to win all year long.
