Canadiens defenceman Hal Gill, signed to a new contract on Wednesday, spoke to the media and said the decision to stay in Montreal was easy for many reasons.
Gill spoke of his love for the city, how his kids love the school they are in and how much his wife loves Montreal.
The veteran defenceman looks forward to another exciting season of hockey in Montreal and, hopefully, playing with P.K. Subban.

I think its a great signing. Glad to have him back another season.
I think Hal Gill might be the next Kirk Muller. Look for him to become an assistant coach at some time!
hey “bolder”, check his blocked shots, hits, and ice time. @ 2.25, he’s a deal, and a Subban whisperer.
Wut a joke. Can’t skate, turnovers galore. He fits right in with the count collapse system.
So – after an entire season playing against the top lines of the opposition – he is a mere minus none? Plus he is the driving force of a team commitment to winning?
He is the reincarnation of the team commitment of the sixties and seventies. Well worth
the price.
Nobody is ever gonna beat Henri Richard’s record for Cup rings.
You must be thinking of someone else.
Or you don’t know hockey.
Bolder, are you on medication that prevents you from understanding hockey? Just sayin.
Love it. Now, trade Spacek for a bag of pucks,
and sign the Wiz.

Welcome back Hal! Good to have you on board!
Gill hates Boston, and Vancouver, the hockey teams at least.
He works out with Lars Eller, and thinks he will do quite well.
Wants Markov and Gorges to be signed back as well.
I didn’t know Hal has an interpreter. Could you ask him what he thinks about Kirk Muller?
