The Canadiens today have placed defenceman Josh Gorges on their injured reserve list, presumably retroactive to include this week’s games in Washington and Tampa Bay, both of which he missed. Gorges is nursing a bad right knee.
Pat Hickey says from Florida that Gorges will likely be out a couple of weeks. The rearguard’s ironman streak of 150 consecutive games ended Tuesday when he was unable to go in Washington for the Canadiens’ 3-0 loss to the Capitals.

All the best to you as well Danno.
Gorges on IR? I’m fine with that. He needs the rehab. Like most everyone else here, I saw him hurting. He plays way above his stature and I’m amazed how durable he is, alas, he is human.
Through thick and thin one thing is constant. We are Habs fans.
Happy New Year to everyone who loves this crazy team in spite of it all. Best wishes for better things in 2011.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Is he headed for surgery?
Recovery time for an arthroscopic knee procedure is about two weeks!
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
lmao..nice one ian..have a great new year.
Weather In South Dakota
Well, mow our 2 best D are on the IR, not good for s defensive team
With the weather forecast, sounds like they made need to call it “The Summer” Classic.
Temps around +12 with rain.
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
Happy New year to all and don’t drink and drive. Get well soon Josh.
- Who will be at the Heritage Classic?
Yikes! Will they be able to keep any useable ice at +12 and rain?
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Apparently they have a $1million refrigeration system in place. The rain is what they are worried about …
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
Here comes MAB and Shelly Souray!
Shaker
They played Gorges too damn long on a bum knee. Now see where this has got us. This really pisses me off.
BTW happy New Year everybody :>)
Last nights loss was the
one that broke the camels back. Hang onto your hats, it is going to get
real breezy around the Bell Center now.
The wheels are turning
big time at the management level, even though they are not turning very
well on the ice. Big moves are coming!
You
can be sure, that the phone lines between our club and others are
humming hot and heavy now. Even though it takes a little longer these days for the
Bell Center to connect, having to go through India and all.!!
Rest
assured that the right connection and deal is in the works, and will
take place, within a short time. Call ups and sit downs and trades are
the near future of this franchise, maybe today.!
I am sure things will be addressed very quickly once the boys get home and find
out who will be receiving their pink slips in a week or so. A blockbuster deal is just around the corner boys and girls.
To all of my HIO friends, I wish you the very best and happier viewing in the New Year!!
Drive Carefully.!! Especially going by the Bell Center, there are people walking in a fog.!!
They’ll be fine, Ian, and so will we.
Tonight is a home celebration with lobster, scallops, risotto and lots of fresh veggies. No driving. Have a safe New Year’s eve my friend.
***Subbang!!!***
A warrior…
Still a tank. I don’t think I’ll ever forget when he was hit with that puck in the back of the head, proceeding to come back the next game like nothing happened.
i remember that… he was really lucky on that play
Well, Gorges is young and important to this team, so it’s vital that he gets the time needed to fully recover. However, he will be missed. I’m not sure the Habs can do right now to stop losing, but something has to be done, and soon. It might just take some mixing up of lines, and maybe Desharnais can get things going, I don’t know. But damn it if I am not getting right well frustrated watching this team play like morons.
The ice for classic outdoor game is being chuncked up into cubes before it all melts, so the players and fans can at least have a drink of scotch out doors under their umbrellas.
Reminds me of a Beatles song.!
I have six two lb. Fundy lobsters, 4 lbs of huge Fundy scallops, garlic butter etc. Three couples that will be dancing here.
Quality this year, oppose to quantity.
Enjoy.
We will be in Mtl. for a week or so Jan. 11th. Be nice to see a few people!
Don’t you do the “funky” chicken every day?!
Happy New Year to all.
Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!
