Canadiens coach Jacques Martin decided that rest was more important than practice and he scrubbed a scheduled workout at the University of Minnesota today. Martin said there will be some relief for tomorrow’s game against the Minnesota Wild. Defenceman Hal Gill returns to the lineup after missing two games with the flu.
Jose Theodore is scheduled to start in goal for the Wild and he’ll be looking for his first win against his former team. He’s 0-4 against Montreal. It’s expected he’ll face Alex Auld, who made 18 of 19 saves in his relief appearance of Carey Price in New York on Friday.

The clip says that PK Subban has to play his game and it does not matter if he is a rookie. ‘Respecting’ the oponent should not matter as long as he is playing legally and helping his team. It is also a contradiction to Don Cherry’s take on the Lecavalier slash saying Vinny could have injured Subban.

I was at the Fighting Sioux game tonight and will be at the Habs game tomorrow. Kristo is being eased back into action. Even with limited use, he was responsible for much of the offence and is very slick with the puck. He makes nice passes and is always looking to score off the rush. Down low in the O zone and defensively: so so. He needs to get stronger.
Will need time getting use to. Very nice. Shows a great deal of planning and work went into redesigning and upgrading the former website. Bravo on a job well done.

Were you guys Theodore fans when he was with the Habs? I became a fan of the team after watching him play. He was much better than any Leafs goalie I’d seen (I was a kid in the GTA). I owe it to him for making me a Habs fan. I hope he’s kind enough to help us out tomorrow and get us at least a point (though 2 would be better).

Yay! I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. While I felt bad for the goalie who got injured, I was happy to hear Theo got a job with the Wild. And I’m always happy to hear when he gets a star or shutout. Gotta agree with you about what he’s been through. He has a beautiful family who seem to be supporting him so I hope he’s enjoying his time in Minnesota.
Theo was good, when he was “fighting” Hackett for the number one position. In fact, I’d be curious to know know whether those guys ever posted better numbers while not in competition with each other…

Danny Kristo has been a factor in both of ND’s goals as the team is tied heading into the second OT, with a goal and a helper. BTW, I am not a Kristo hater, just reporting some stats from a game I am not watching. Also, Gallagher has one assist so far tonight.

Yes, tonight was his second game back, he picked up a goal on his first shift Friday night, I believe. Sounds like he was lucky not to lose a toe or two.

I found tonight’s game with the BRUINS/LAFFS very telling for the “HABS” b/c you can see there’s a division of sorts on that roster. We are a tighter group of guys (well, for the most part) and that will go a long way to win a round, or two in the playoffs. BRUINS have roster issues that can’t be explained through statistics. I like our chances a lot if we draw them in 1st round.

I don’t think that we have profiles anymore. For its faults, the old site had its own look, feel, and personality. This new setup is quite… vanilla.
This question is for the Editors of this grand and wonderful site, Did Bettman have anything to do with this site? I appreciate the effort in trying to make life better for us but this Gravatar stuff is rediculous and also the format of the postings, I miss the old one! Sorry!

Yeah, it doesn’t have the same feel. I hope we all get used to it. I went thru the Gravitar process so I could still feel a bit like my old Habs I/O self.
The worst part is now we’ve lost the ability to see who the original crew (and newbies) are – I loved it that my profile said “member for 3 years and 2 months” where Tony’s latest profile said “member for 6 hours”
Do we even have profile’s anymore? I can access mine but I can’t click on your name or anything. So far I have to say this is pretty lame.
What I loved about the old format, exactly as you said, it wasn’t so impersonal. We knew each other and without the rich text, it leaves no room for expression. I guess we’ll get used to it? Or they’ll make some improvements in the future.
Personally I’m hoping it’s temporary while they do some massive upgrades.
This Leafs-Bruins game is great fun, once you get over the fact that the Leafs are winning. Anyway, Thomas had a poor night like Price last night. Rask just showed up his D for their screen on him, something that many blamed Price for doing last season.
What a weird feeling, for the first time in my life I hate the Bruins more than the Leafs. I can tell because it doesn’t bother me that TO is kicking someone’s a$$. Still hate HNIC though.

Dear HIO….there has obviously been some dissatisfaction with the new site, and understandably, change often causes this type of reaction. However, can we all agree that if the changes cause a poster with the status and importance to the site that Ian Cobb has, to leave the site then perhaps we may have gone too far? I have been a member of this site since the very beginning and I’m quite comfortable with superficial changes. But, though i do not know the man at all, I understand the importance of the contributions Ian Cobb makes to this site. And of all the posters here, I feel he is one of a select few who’s importance and opinions need to hold more weight when it comes to feedback on how things are run.
I beg the good people of HIO to take this into account and make the necessary changes required to ensure we do not lose any of the great contributors to this site
