After getting a day off Friday, the Canadiens were back on the ice for a morning skate in San Jose before facing the Sharks Saturday night (10 p.m., CBC, RDS, TSN Radio 690) in the final game of their four-game West Coast trip.
Carey Price wasn’t on the ice at the beginning of the skate, but did join his teammates midway through after having treatment on his lower-body injury. Peter Budaj was the first goalie off the ice and will get the start against the Sharks.
Brandon Prust, who has been sidelined with an upper-body injury, was wearing a regular practice jersey instead of the non-contact jersey he had been wearing. Prust has been cleared to play, but won’t face the Sharks. He will return to the lineup Wednesday when the Boston Bruins visit the Bell Centre. Michael Bournival (concussion) was still wearing a non-contact jersey at the morning skate.
Here’s how the lines and defence pairings looked at Saturday’s morning skate:
Our best wishes and thoughts from everyone at HI/O go out to Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon and his family. Bozon has been placed in an induced coma at a Saskatoon hospital as he battles meningitis. The 19-year-old forward was selected by the Canadiens in the third round (64th overall) of the 2012 NHL entry draft.
