After a day off on Sunday, the Canadiens will practise Monday morning in Brossard and defenceman Jarred Tinordi is expected to be with them.
The Canadiens announced late Sunday afternoon that they have called up the 6-foot-6, 227-pound defenceman from the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
In 47 games with the Bulldogs this season, Tinordi has 3-6-9 totals and 70 penalty minutes. In six games with the Canadiens, he has no points and nine penalty minutes.
Tinordi was the Canadiens’ first-round draft pick (22nd overall) in 2010.
Carey Price, after returning home from Sochi with an Olympic gold medal, was slated to meet with the media Monday in Brossard.
The Canadiens play their first post-Olympic game Wednesday night when Team Canada coach Mike Babcock and the Detroit Red Wings visit the Bell Centre. On Thursday, the Habs will be in Pittsburgh to face Team Canada captain Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.
