Price – AK, x and y to equal 10mill for Luongo.
Price is fed up… let’s move on.

No matter how proud you are if you are booed what can you do? Say “haha THOSE fans…shucks” and pretend it doesn’t bother you?
Why does everyone assume Price doesn’t want to play here? Would you if you were booed every time you screwed up?
“It’s a dream come true (playing in Montreal). To play in a city where
everyone always talks hockey, it’s tremendous. To put on that jersey was
an amazing feeling.” – Montreal Canadiens centre, Jeff Halpern
As I have stated all along, if you can’t handle the pressure to play in Montreal or be booed by our passionate fans for some players on our roster, which I shall not name, then……………..walk outta here!
There are many, many players who would be proud to play in this great city and be proud wearing the CH jersey.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
If I were booed, so be it, I am a professional athlete and would cope with it.
Now If I screwed up, I would know that I would have to perform better.
I never mentioned Price, but as a whole it is so tough being a Montreal Canadiens player with all the booing as well.
But that is the price you pay earning the big bucks as a pro athlete and knowing we, as fans are paying the big bucks to pay for their salaries.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
How long do the Habs wait before putting in a call to Theo’s agent?
Am i the only one that see’s the irony of you wanting to run someone out of town and the jersey in your avatar? You want to trade him for luongo who is scheduled to make 10 million this year and had a 0.001 better save percentage last year despite having a much better team in front of him? Yeah, that 12 year contract looks great. Price was second overall on the team in star voting for the season. That means on most nights he was better then the team in front of him. The canucks were second to the caps in goals per game scored, there’s you difference. Put down the bong and go to bed.
Out.
Oh I agree, Montreal fans are by no means the most knowledgable…most passionate, yes…but not most knowledgable
You are spot on! It’s pretty clear that more than half the people posting here have never, ever suited up at a level beyond bantam. And, that might be stretching it! Montreal fans may at one time have been the most knowledgeable, but I’d probably cast my vote for those in Minnesota. I’m in NYC so you can’t accuse me of bias.
I agree, you can SO tell by the posts those who have actually played the game and those who havnt
Guy, last night was the equivalent of high-paid pickup hockey. Don’t go mental over it. I’ve been involved in 90 minute skates where five-goal leads change hands several times. It’s not where you begin in the house league that is the new NHL, but where you finish. I wonder these days how many people actually play hockey in Quebec anymore. Why? Because the alleged knowledge of the game has gone to hell since I was a kid!
Slovak, we know you were only here because of Halak, go find a St. Louis blues fansite to hang around on.

year and a half, unless you think his record up to the All-Star was bad.
Luongo’s not proven he can win in the playoffs either, never gone beyond 2nd round and looked pretty ugly in his last 2nd round exits, plus his contract is a cap nightmare. Price isn’t culturally lost in MTL either, that’s just odd speculation, how many Western Canadian farmboys go to places like Anaheim or San Jose and get along just fine? Brodeur got outdueled by Martin Biron tonight. Goalies have bad games, it’s a law of nature.
Price’s numbers weren’t indicative of many losses where the team simply failed to score. At the rate the Habs scored in front of Price last season, they would have finished with less than 190 GF last season, which would have meant 30th overall in the NHL and the 1st overall pick.

well done. a medium like that is rare.
that was funny, thanks for cheering me up a little.
He’s been terrible for TWO YEARS. Do the friggin math. How long do we wait?
Trade him for Luongo and a bag of pucks if he’s so great. Luongo might at least want to play here.
The guy who posted that he’s culturally lost in Mtl might be right. Maybe in Calgary or Nashville he’d be fantastic I don’t know.
All I know is that here as a Hab he sucks wind. That’s fact! How can you argue with the numbers, they’re terrible.
I can’t believe the arguments you guys come up with, oh it’s pre-season, oh he’s young, oh the defence sucks…
What is this? Grade 6? I’m sorry to rant, but if Prices messes the crease like that in the reg we are SCREWED because our genius leaders have no back up plan.
Out.
MPS dropped his name to Paajarvi for the NHL.
Ekman-Larsson isn’t that bad, Langenbrunner in NJ is the same length.

http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Haha, imagine if Magnus had his entire name on the jersey! It would go around the entire jersey to the front and back. HAHAH!
*Just a silly joke, had no intention of disrespecting or offending Magnus or anyone else here!
“Hey Lucy! You got some ‘splainin’ to do!” Nice one.
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
players should be restricted to names that fit on a jersey. I mean really.
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
The guy sounds like a real winner. I think louis should come back with the rest of the 50 guys who are still at camp and spend an evening (like from supper till closing time) booing this guy and telling him how bad he sucks at his job.
Surprised Brett Connolly is still at TB camp, with his basically missing his last season of junior, he should be back with his junior club trying to make up lost time and get himself on the 2011 WJ squad.

Having watched the Leafs last two games, I would not take them lightly in the season opener. My bet is that they are good enough to make the playoffs. The Habs need to pay special attention to that cheap-shotter Colby Armstrong. They need to know where that opportunistic little pr!ck is every shift he takes.
I think gaborik was involved in the highest percentage of his team goals then any player in the league last year.
Annnnnnnnd Ray Ferraro comments on the booing fans, just couldn’t resist could ya Ray!?
Paajarvi just whipped Dan Ellis in pre-season, let’s not go overboard yet but I think he just vaulted himself in the Calder Trophy race a bit.

http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Me too, now who would you rather have Gaborik or Pajaarvi Svenson?
As Benoit would say aye yaye! My manager gave me quite the look when I handed him a void cheque for payroll that had a big CH in the middle of it. I really want the boys to whip the Leafs on opening night so can have some bragging rights at work
Oliver Ekman Larsson is on Phoenix.
But yeah, he’s going to be special.

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.
Komi got beat up again at the end of the Ottawa game. Took three punches to the head and hugged his opponent for dear life.
Taylor Hall just charged the net and went through the goalie
and he also called tony on the team 990 this morning tearing into carey price by the name of Joe from the west island, boy oh boy was it tough day at work today
Wow that guy really ruined it for you eh. My roomate last year in Toronto was a huge Habs fan as well, and met Luke Schenn at a bar one night, but he didn’t ask him any dumb questions like that. He simply shot the shat with him about hockey and women haha.
Magnus Paajarvi Svensson kid is darn good! Same thing with Oliver Oscar Emmanuel Ekman-Larsson (Florida)…Smooth skaters and amazing talent and gotta give em’ marks for those names…beyond cool!!
“It must be love!”
Being that close to the arena is always helpful! One of the waiters i work with is pretty much one of the biggest habs haters, so anyways louis was all finshed his meal and he come up towards the bar/cash area to pay his bill, and my buddy was taking care of the cash and he says to louis, “Can i ask you something? and louis looks up politely and he asks straight faced, The boys in the locker room couldnt have been really happy tradeing away their playoff MVP this off season” and he continues his rant about how Price stunk it up last night and yada yada yada, i was never so embarrassed in my life, what is this poor kid supposed to say? so he replys politely “well carey is a great tender, it was just one game and it was in the preseason” and he just smiled and left with his ladie friend, and i am standing at the cash with him and i just turned to my buddy with the biggest look of disapointment. He’ll never be back there, and its not the first hockey player to come in, but might be the last, what a moron
Haha you know it! Could cause him to jump and take out a display however so I’ll have to pick my spot
Agreed, offensively they’re pretty much a draw, but Gaborik knows what to do more on both sides of the red line
If Komisarek comes in, make sure to yell out “Hey, it’s Milan Lucic!” and point behind him.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
That’s cool. I just got a job today in one of the new stores next to the Air Canada Centre, so I’ll likely see the enemy if I get any run-ins with NHL players, however here’s hoping I can spot one of the boys when they’re in Toronto
I’d take Gaborik, he has ridiculous speed and plays better defensively than Kovalchuk.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
“Price was terrible last game, that is the way it is, only morons go bla bla bla about it, let’s wait and see…”
So, clearly then Mr. Slovak you’re saying that because Price was terrible last game then therefore he’ll also be terrible for every other game to come. Unfortunately that doesn’t make much sense.
Who would you rather have Marian Gaborik (no injuries ) or Ilya Kovalchuk?
a little off topic but louis leblanc was at my work tonight grabbing dinner with a ladie friend, super nice kid, with a funny encounter
I’d say, he’s had a damn impressive debut. Hall’s looked good as well, hit the post earlier, being used on PK duty as well
EDM did well snapping him up at 10th overall.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Paajarvi scores again, kid’s on fire tonight
Oh, Gord Miller interviewing Stevie Y, everyone take out your GM notepads!
No kidding! Look at the uproar over the Cedric trade
Good analysis. It’s worth looking into.
Bahaahhahaaaaaa!!
………………………………………………………………..
YES HABS CAN!!
The #2 in Montreal has more attention paid to him then the #1 in any other hockey market. The AHL minders even!!!
Could be something to that theory. I agree it’s something that they need to work on as a team, Carey has great puck handling skills, likely the best of any young goalie. If it’s honed properly he’ll be in the same league as the two Marty’s. The team should be prepared for break out passes from him, especially in the attempt to catch the other team on line changes, I can remember Roy doing that quite a few times
I have a theory. It was formed last year and yesterday’s “game” brought it back to mind.
It’s about the idea that the team played better in front of Halak than Price. Yesterday, they played better in front of Sanford than Price. Clearly. WHY?
My theory: Price is an excellent puck-handler, but he tries to do too much. He does things no one on his own team expects and throws them off-balance. No one is ever really sure what he’s going to do, they’re all just looking at him and around and when he sends it to some guy who’s half-covered and not expecting it, it turns over.
Halak was not as good a puck-handler, but he always made the simple, standard, easy play. The guys knew what to expect and were ready to go on the attack.
My solution: Management has to reel Price in. Tell him to stick with 4 or 5 standard plays that they practice and all know. In a few months, Carey will be making tape-to-tape passes and everybody will be on the same page. No more getting a surprise puck with the whole team off-balance.
If you’re not convinced, check out the players’ reactions whenever Carey’s handling the puck in his next game.
Nice pass from Paajarvi to the point on the powerplay, now he’s got an assist to go along with the goal. Hall’s come close twice I think he’ll get one this game
Wow, Magnus Paajarvi just dangled the Lightning, he totally fanned on the wrist shot, which worked out and slid under the goalie’s pad. Nice effort from the rookie
He needs a pair of Al Arbour glasses!
Should you be on the Blues boards? Or watching Jaro best of’s? He wasn’t good either bud, but I’ll bet you pulled any excuse for him outta your ass for him eh? Lemme guess. He was tired from “carrying the team on his back’? Yeah that’s it! Whatever dude.
He’ll fit right in with the ‘pack. He’s a howler!!!
Nobody is discussing Price on this thread or didn’t you notice? Take your chum to another thread and see if anyone bites!
And Hall rings one off the post
What to hell is wrong with you people, is there any strange poison air in Montreal? Price was terrible last game, that is the way it is, only morons go bla bla bla about it, let’s wait and see… that is all. Price should examine his head for sure, otherwise he is done in Montreal, you can go and say he will be fine, no he will not be fine if he does not find a way how to focus on the game itself, yes it is hard, but he should be prepared on this. Last time he showed nothing and nothing is what he showed. Call it whatever you want. Result is still the same.
Halak will play better. we all saw this before, what you saw about Price? I tell you what – nothing – just words and words and words that is all.
But on the other hand the kid deserves to have some time. Give Price a full season. Suicide? I don’t know, do you?
Taylor Hall playing with Gagne and Hemsky, should be an interesting combo to watch this evening
Michael Del Zotto is one of my favorite players.
I would not be surprised to see him sent down to the Wolfpack.
This kid Hanson ain’t half bad. If only he had two brothers.
You never know… the guy you shall not name might prove you wrong about not being able to handle the pressure or being booed.
Time will tell.

A friend of mine who consulted a medium told me that she said the Leafs would not win another Cup until they go back to being the Toronto St. Pats.
Rags are going to have a decent young defense worth watching this year.
The rumor is that if the Leafs win in London tonight they will apply to join the OHL.
Mcdonaugh looking decent out there.
Is Toronto trying to run the flyers through the boards like they tried to do against Ottawa last night.??
Oops is right. Maybe even an understatement…
Martin Brodeur being outdueled by Martin Biron right now in NYR-NJD, oops.

It’s great to have a lot of character guys like Halpern in the room as the team adds rookies.

Just got in and NHL Net is picking up the Leafs TV feed against the Flyers. Two periods of truculence surely lie ahead. Woo, woo!!!
watching rags/devils on center ice and have team suckulence online
It’s always a pleasure when a player realizes just where he is! It’s an honor to play for Les Boys!
nice read about Halpern, looks like the kind of guy we need around here. And I can spell his name.!
You’re right Ian,
He sounds like a real character guy like the one we let go in Metro, plus he wears the same number.
Looks like we get the Edmonton Tampa game on TSN at 9pm.
They’re not picking up Team Truculence where you live?
At this point, any hockey will do!
Watching Leafs / Philly down here Ian.
Lucky you Ian! I get Philly-Taranna. Damn living in Virginia……
“Chill Out” (as per Price) will become a Habs Marketing Slogan via Tee Shirts and or Towels in the near future………..lol
Good thing, then, that Carey didn’t tell fans, “Go eff yourselves”

I was kind of expecting an apology. I guess I shouldn’t hold my breath.
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
Team Truculence is on the board!
Amazing optimism from the Leaf commentators: Every puck possession is a scoring opportunity.
Every day brings them that much closer to the golden anniversary celebration of the ’67 Cup in 2017!
Lord the Leafs commentators are terrible!
Duplicate
O ya that’s right, he was wearing 15. I liked Metro and he is lighting things up in Switzerland big time.
Have not seen you here in a little while Keith. Hows Fredericton treating you.? did you get any residue from Igor.
Shenn is the only guy who could have an opposing player’s jersey completely over his head and lose a fight.
Really? Comcast only has the MLB channels on and no center ice yet.
Tom Kostopulous would be a candidate was well. He was a guy i felt sorry for. Getting his ass handed to him night after night standing up for his team mates doing the one job BGL was brought in to do. I have no clue how bgl can even look at himself in the mirror. Especially this summer how he all of a sudden decided to retire after being bought out.
I got bell expressvu, don’t know if that makes a difference.
If Nilan was on the same team as BGL, he would have gone at him every day at practice and exposed him for the fraud he was.
Ahhhh. I see. Living in the US blows. :/
Laraque is a media whore.
Fifty US says that if you tell that moron that fruit and veggies feel pain when picked and he will swear off them as well. Let’s see that knucklehead live on nothing bu bread and water!
Why does this still exist?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Isn’t there a concept in science known as the conservation of crap, i.e. crap can neither be created nor destroyed; it can only be altered.
Bell Center fans should be given the green light to slug anyone in the arena who boos the Habs during a preseason game. Even if they get charged with assault, I can’t see and jury of competent people in Montreal convicting them.
I think “Bite Me” would make a fine slogan.
