Grabovski recalled from Bulldogs

Is it to see action tonight with the Canadiens – or the Atlanta Thrashers? Updating that Marian Hossa is not at the Bell Centre for the Thrashers’ game-day skate.

Stay tuned, and see the team’s release below on the recall of Grabovski.

The Canadiens’ release:

  1. Shiloh says:

An hour breakfast meeting followed by a briefing. Short meeting from 10-10:30. I’m supposed to be developing a report but I just watched the TSN stream for 15 minutes or so. But nobody can say anything – I’m the boss.

  2. Chris says:

I’ll bite. I don’t complain much about the Habs, and I am very scared to make a move. They rarely work and I really don’t think that we’re a serious contender this season…the addition of one impact player will not change that. Unless one of our goalies gets red-hot in the post-season, we don’t really have much of a chance to contend with a strong, skilled team like Anaheim, Dallas or even Ottawa. Mortgaging the future to make a premature run this season just doesn’t make sense to me.

  3. Bean says:

    Breaking productivity records for sure!!

My fingers are totally flying over the keyboard . . . to minimize my trade-info windows when the boss is nearby 😉

  4. Scotty90 says:

Hossa and Havlat were awesome together in Ottawa….. who knows… they may get re-united!

  5. Habhopeful says:

Hahahaha absolutely not!!!, i’m on fourth period, TSN Jon ONraits Blog and HIO, plus i dont really have much to do, and i try to look busy sometimes…

“Like, you can’t get a girl pregnant when she’s on top man, I mean, its gravity…Just can’t happen.”

    -Jason Segel

  6. the real vinnydj says:

If you see a big dip in the Stock Market, it wasn’t me.

  7. Norm0770 says:

Since the Habs are 3rd in the league in goals scored, I don’t think they need Havlat. Especially given his injury history.

  8. Maffu says:

ya but that he’s enjoying a nice view of montreal is a great thing.

  9. Nav says:

I work night shift!!!! My productive day is now, at home in bed surfing the net looking for breaking trades with my Iphone.

  10. Maffu says:

I don’t believe it. Truth would be on the main Canoe sports website.
Believe Richards is going to Dallas.
Sorry to see whoever goes, go.

    Believe Hossa is a HAB!!

  11. rogus says:

I’ve never been so up to date with the NHL if that counts. LOL

  12. tony d says:

i’ve been staying close to the bathroom

  13. Cable Guy says:

    i’m home ‘sick’ today……

  14. wd40 says:

    lol… breaking records here 🙂

  15. tony d says:

so tsn’s mole says Hossa is an hour older…..
edge of your seat drama huh?

  16. Barts says:

TSN F’ing with us… not funny.

  17. Nav says:

I honestly hope Bob has a few aces up his sleeves. I know this is wishful thinking but I really hope Hossa, Havlat & Tuomo Ruutu from Chicago. I know it’s risky because of Havlat being a injury freak and Ruutu being hurt throughout his career but the upside would be huge. Havlat is extremely offensively gifted and Ruutu has an awesome edge to his game. Tough as nails.

  18. HKisses says:

  19. Barts says:

McGuire on TSN making out like he knows something, after talking to one of the Thrashers.

  20. Steiner says:

I hope they just pull the trigger already…. somethings up.

  21. Blarneylad says:

i think its to replace one of the centerman montreal moves to get hossa…lapierre?

  22. arcosenate says:

    give it a year.

  23. usversusthem says:

Good eye. Plus, I can’t find any links to that story from the Canoe sports page. so…

  24. nightmare_49 says:

Isn’t it amazing that the posters that “constantly” bitch about the Habs are the ones that are scared to make a move.

  25. Dan23 says:

I think the Canoe guys will be taking this page down pretty soon. No one else is reporting this.

  26. G-Man says:

The byline is dated 2009- don’t believe this…. yet.

  27. Barts says:

Really weird, what the hell is that?

  28. Dingwell says:

that site seems… fakish… not canoe in whole.. but that page… considering it was posted at 4 in the am..

  29. Morenz7 says:

TSN reporting Hossa been told to stay at the hotel stedda going to the game-day skate

  30. the real vinnydj says:

Coincidence? Not likely. Putting my order in for a Hossa jersey since my Higgins jersey will have to stay in the closet. I hope we keep Higgins, he would look sexy playing with Hossa

  31. HKisses says:

10:51 – John Lu reports from Montreal: “Marian Hossa will not be at the Bell Centre this morning. He has been told by the team to stay at the hotel.” Pierre: “Just got an e-mail from a player on their team asking where Marian Hossa is going.” AND ITS NOT AN OPTIONAL SKATE FOR THE PRACTICE

  32. Will Longlade says:

I don’t know, but Grabs sounds like a keeper to me.

  33. Gooner says:

I heard on sportsnet that the thrashers want Higgens instead of Ryder.

  34. johnnyhab says:

I thought Montreal was left off Richards list of teams?

  35. tony d says:

so if the trade happens, it would be so weird seeing Ryder play against his teammates ….freaky (or would they sit him for tonight?)

  36. Habs64 says:

    The anticipation is killing me…

  37. wild flower says:

TSN: Mckenzie just implied that he knows what the Hossa trade is. He held it back to build suspense during the commercial break.

  38. habsguy says:

I’m not too worried about losing Lapierre, but if Grabs is involved, they better have Hossa signed to a contract !!!!!

  39. Jonnyboy says:

Buts one you have to take. Espically for sniper like Hossa.

  40. showey47 says:

grabovski got recalled, something is definatly happening. We already have 3 guys sitting in the pressbox, we don’t need a fourth.

  41. johnnyhab says:

Right now there are to many rumors out there to keep thinks straight so many Montreal names are being mentioned Higgins, Ryder, Lapierre, Grabovski, Huet, Dandenault. I would not be surprised if nothing happens.

  42. HAB-PROFESSOR says:

    Its a DONE DEAL…

Grabs would NOT be called up otherwise…

just hope RYDER isn’t part of the equation…if so this will be the weirdest game on record
    1. Feb 19, 2008 – History was made.
    2. Thank GOD we have Alex Kovalev… his PRIME
    3. The BELL CENTRE should be rebuilt to sit 80,000 fans
    4. We will win the CUP

  43. Bill says:

Trading guys like Grabovski is such a risk. He and Lapierre will be back to Leclair us for years 🙁

  44. Odie Cleghorn says:

Would this trade, should it actually happen, be announced before or after the game? I wonder how the players involved would perform if they had to suit up for the opposing teams and actually compete tonight in front of this crowd.
