Love how Torts conducted that interview sometimes I wish coaches do that more often especially with injuries, cuz i hate when the media speculates and talks so much b.s about something that didn’t even happen.
Always said Tortie deserved to be considered as one of the greatest assets Tamper ever had, alongside V4 and St-Louie and the like.
But why don’t reporters snap their notebooks shut and walk away after 5 seconds of this? Besides hoping for another fracas with Larry Brooks?
Chillin like MacMillan, potty-boy says he’s L. B. Potter, esq.
Breaking news! Bob McKenzie tweeted just now that Sidney Crosby has decided not to play this season or the play-offs. His agent in a prepared statement said that Sidney wants to enjoy a long and healthy career and wants to be in top form for the Penguins to win more Stanley Cups. He feels he is not ready to face the tough hockey in the play-offs where hits are more dangerous. GM Shero stated that the Penguins support his decision and still have their goal to win the Cup this year.
Happy April Fools Day !
“It’s too much for one guy to shoulder. For us, we’re going to do it as a group. It’s about sharing that responsibility win or lose.” – Mike Cammalleri
All the kidding aside, that’s probably what Crosby should really do.
Same goes for MaxPac. He would be a fool to risk his career just to come back for a few playoff rounds. I hope that’s the advice his parents are giving him.
Well if Max has no symptoms, he has no symptoms. It’s not risking your career when you have no concussion symptoms and gets the OK from the doctors to play, whether it’s now or next year.
If only that were true. Some basic research will show you the facts as they are known today about concussions, their causes and long term impacts. Max is playing with his life if he comes back too soon and maybe even if he plays at all, doctor or no.
I think players should do what the doctors tell them, not the team or their agents or anyone else. They need to listen to the people trained medically to advise them. So if the MD tells the player “you’re ready to go” I’m fine with the player playing.
ha funny. happy april 1 to you. like that is ever going to happen with crosby staying away from the playoffs. it is interesting that the pens are in the playoffs with two great players mia. the pens coachs have done a superb job in getting the best out of the vets and young guys….sigh, sigh.
Klingons are way cooler though & tougher too. And when you need motivation, that’s who you call – not the Vulcans.
I think Torts is what this team needs.

WAIT, I thought that having a coach like TORTS guaranteed your player wouldnt lose like that cause he yells alot. I mean he GETS FIRED UP. He yells at refs so they dont call his team for penalties, and he gets his players fired up and they dominate…. ISNT THAT RIGHT???????
Cause when they beat us, all I hear is how having a coach like Torts would make sure we didnt lose badly…. Cause JM is just too calm, his players fall asleep on the bench…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Yeah! He gets worked up! Yell yell yell!
I wish I had a coach like that, who would shout at the refs and walk out on press conferences!
We’d win all the time!
Nice, JB.
So is it an NHL conspiracy that a better tea, LOSES more games???????
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE MEASURE OF A TEAM IS…. GUESS WHAT????? ITS WINS…
AND JERSEY, TO, AND NYI DON’T HAVE AS MANY AS WE DO…
So guess what else???????????????
MONTREAL IS A BETTER TEAM THAN ALL OF THEM.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

Torts is a punk a$$ coach who should be fired immediately. He lets his team get the cr&p beat out of them and then gives the isles coach a dirty look at the end of the game. Torts is a punk and he had his team play like punks. Any coach that lets his team get pushed aropund like he did in the first period and throughout the game should be fired .

Hey torts …you think after 2 years you could teach them how to work a power play…you waste. All you can teach them is how to turn the other cheek.
Not certain that the coach must appear unless we’re talking playoffs. The dressing-room door must be open to the media five minutes after the final siren. The entire team is supposed to be available in the room, but that is virtually never the case in Montreal, nor I suspect anywhere else.
I remember the west coast trip of a few seasons ago – the bowling trip. The Habs bombed in Calgary, the room was closed for 15 minutes and when the doors finally opened, EVERY GUY was at his locker. I recall the media mob almost fell down – then we all went to the usual sources.

A question regarding these pressers: I assume that they’re League-mandated and the coaches MUST make an appearance. Are there any consequences for just showing up, stating you’re not discussing anything, and leaving, or does the mere appearance suit the NHL’s rules?
If Max is able to go and i am thinking either 3rd round or stanley cup finals IF IT HAPPENS then i wouldn’t mind but if the Habs are not gonna go to far dont rush him hes only 22 yrs old give him a career…
And for all you people that hate on the Habs team and coaches, gm and staff i say stop and think positive and what they can do in 4 gms prior to the playoffs. i think that Habs will get it going and despite all their injuries throughout the season no just Markov and Gorges all of the players. GO HABS GO
srry that i had to add all that stuff at the end on ur reply.
Habsnation is still standing.

That’s old school thinking and what is exactly wrong with today’s NHL. Look no further than Sidney Crosby.
My point is, that given the recent history, why not take 7 months to totally heal and increase your chances of having no further long-term damage?
If only that were true. Some basic research will show you the facts as they are known today about concussions, their causes and long term impacts. Max is playing with his life if he comes back too soon and maybe even if he plays at all, doctor or no.

Markov had the doctor’s OK. How long did he last?

Oh Torts. Talks when he shouldn’t. Doesn’t talk when he should.

Everything in good moderation is usually mentioned along with that, but Im sure you knew that but posted that post anyways.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.

Good one!
You know it’s an April Fools joke.
He should be pissed. The Rangers are in real danger.
Then again, it’s not a bed of roses here either.
I hear Gomer was guaranteeing that the team was going to show up when it matters at the launch of Renault Lavoie’s book.
OK Gomer. But the applause will only come when you walk the walk. It’s time…
Carey, Carey, Carey, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!
Torts is the real deal…no cliches or false emotions…
Go Habs Go!
And no job if he doesn’t make the playoffs.
True. Unlike JM who I believe lied through his teeth so as to not be asked harder follow-up questions after the Carolina game.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
“Another one of those eh Brooksy?”
…so why did he even face them for 33 seconds?
Face it – a couple of those teams(Islanders, Devils, Leafs) who won’t make it are better hockey teams right now than Montreal or the Rangers are.
Face it: the LAffs have sucked for years and this “no pressure we are so far behind playoff drive” is all smoke and mirrors.
2011 is the Year of the Hab (can I still say that?)
Exactly. Did you notice how when the Leafs came within sniffing distance of 8th place they reverted to type?
Yup. It’s like a broken record that Laffs Nation (shoud call themselves Deluded Nation) falls for every spring.
2011 is the Year of the Hab (can I still say that?)
Then the same happens in Toronto all over again in September with the Jays.
Ottawa is becoming similar.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Islanders especially, I truly think they are an emerging offensive powerhouse.

He said those teams are better than the habs and rangers “right now” not throughout the season but now as in say the last couple of weeks.
Face it, you’re an idiot!

Go Habs Go!
How could you say the Habs are SOFT?
Saying they are SOFT would be saying that they have some SUBSTANCE. The Habs are more like dust and fumes. I’d say they are GASEOUS.
