Gorges’s ironman streak ends at 150 games

Defenceman Josh Gorges will not play tonight vs the Washington Capitals, resting his injured knee. P.K. Subban is definitely in.

Gorges’s team-leading ironman streak ends at 150 games, the last he missed being Dec. 3, 2009. Hal Gill now takes the team lead, playing his 91st straight tonight in Washington.

Not for what we gave up…..I was just thinking salary wise.  I would love to use the money for a forward but with Patch up here now the top 6 should be able to do the damage.  I guess I was just looking for maybe a bigger name.  Waiting to see the next move  PG has with all the D-men up here.

  2. habsgod says:

jimmy this wasn’t a little pricey this was larceny by gauthier he robbed snow and the islanders!

  3. jimmy shaker says:

missed the first period and half of the second, how were the goals?  What happened?  Good acquisition, little pricey I think, but I’ll give PG a wait and see on this one.  Now who are the odd men out?  Weber and Picard/ waiver wire or trade bait?  Should be interesting…..

  4. MTLForever says:

    Unbelievable…stay OUT of the box.

  5. slapshot777 says:

Seems like in the last minute of a period they go into a brain cramp. Eller giveaway up the middle, Hamrlik gets the puck guess what, a turnover and the Habs never get out of the zone for the entire last minute. Simply brutal.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.

  6. homerbowen says:

Habs doing annual post Xmas sucking. Sometimes I just want to kick their ass!

  7. MTLForever says:

can we stay out of the box? ridiculous.

  9. MTLForever says:

This game could be a lot worse right now, Price making some big saves to keep it down plus some guys are blocking out there. Varlamov is making some big saves to keep us off the board.

  10. lavie says:

The whole team is out of shape. Every team is up and down during the course of playing 82 games. Hope the team resumes soon.

  11. slapshot777 says:

Habs not playing with any intensity. Just going through the motions. No speed, can’t make a tape to tape pass. The players are not picking up their defensive responsibilities.

To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.

  12. lavie says:

    Did you watch the game?

  13. LTHF says:

another give away by gill, resulted in  the second goal————what else is new

  14. observer says:

Hope Wisniewski means Picard sent back to Hamilton. Sick and tired of this old man Martin’s team giving up late goals or chances as period nears end. HUGE mistake letting Boucher leave!

  15. MTLForever says:

    Need Gorges to heal.

    Dear PK,

show your stuff and prove to JM he is ridiculous.

  16. BJ says:

    No proof needed there!

  17. MTLForever says:

Hahah he hasn’t realized it himself yet unfortunately.

  18. habitual says:

    Amen, bro.

  19. Ian Cobb says:

Here is our team standings, in the 30 team league, compared to last week boys and girls.

said I was not going to criticize J. Martin this year after the great
run in the play offs last year. But does he really have what it takes
to get this team to the next level ?. I sure don’t know.

If he could only match his great defensive game with an offensive game, we would be at the top of the heap.

Goals Against—83,  We are in   3rd place.   Last week we were in   2nd place.

Total Points—–42,  We are in  15th place.   Last week we were in  12th place.

Goals For——–93,  We are in  21st place.   Last week we were in  19th place.

Something is going to break here somewhere. I do smell a trade or movement behind the bench coming.

  20. observer says:

With Boston’s games in hand Habs are in 8th place – anyday now!

  21. LA Loyalist says:

    Common element: trending down.

I just watched all the Wiz clips. YES! YES! YES! Finally.

Now, dump Martin and get another Wiz to replace Gomez and we will have a team.

  22. Ian Cobb says:

In our junior game, there was no hit to the head of the Check player. Can this call be over turned.??

  23. MTLForever says:

    they have to appeal it

  24. MTLForever says:

    GO HABS GO!!!!!

  25. Ian Cobb says:

Probably should have been a penalty, but not a 5 and a game, that was nuts. Now he cannot play the next game.

  26. petefleet says:

Are you kidding me?  What the hell was Price doing on his knees for that one?  Playing from behind again after clearly out playing WSH.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  27. StevieRay says:

why the heck couldn’t Weber and Laps win the puck battle ….

  28. MTLForever says:

don’t even blame price there, that was a stellar back hand goal.

  29. petefleet says:

Pk takes himself out of the play again and can’t get back.  It’s 2-0.  Unreal.  What number is Wiz going to wear?  76?

  30. observer says:

How well did Picard “take out” that  Caps goalscorer of the first goal?

  31. RGM says:

Too bad that the streak is over for Josh. He’s a warrior so you know it must be bad for him to sit it out tonight.

    Go Habs Go!
