Jacques Martin, in his post-practice media briefing, would not specify which players will face the Senators in Ottawa Friday night.
The coach praised Nathan Beaulieu – “exceptional talent, vision and offensive flair” – and Brendan Gallagher, junior-age prosapects who will likely play “meaningful minutes” before camp ends.
Lars Eller and Andrei Markov are at different stages of recovery from their injuries, Martin said. The former is “more advanced” and will likely be in contact drills next week. Markov is still skating solo, as he was after practice on Thursday.
Two Hamilton Bulldogs alumni – Aaron Palushaj and Andreas Engqvist, will find themselves playing with veterans as camp progresses and Martin mulls which forwards will stay with the teram when the regular season opens
