Only Alex Auld, Scott Gomez and Yannick Weber skated in Toronto this morning, though Gomez is being reported to be out again tonight. He missed last night’s game in Detroit as well.
Head coach Jacques Martin will announce his lineup at 5 pm.
Jean-Sebastien Giguère is in nets for the Maple Leafs.
No Komo.

Great post, Michael.
Boyd is a bad center man. His positioning is awkful.
People really need to calm down, i don’t get how it’s disrespectful or a slap in the face at all.
Was Teemu Selanne too “flashy” when he scored 76 in his rookie season? Imagine him, disrespecting NHL goalies 76 times as a rookie…
Centre Hice: Net result: Leafs cheating?
It looked real close to me Chuck.
I can’t stop watching that Omark shootout goal. I wish we had him on our team. Could you imagine the crowd at the bell center if that happened there. It would be nuts. All the haters out there who are trashing Omark should get a life. This kid is good for the NHL. No need to be jealous. Embrace this kids creativity.
That was pretty close. If his stick is above the crossbar when he last has contact with the puck it should be ruled no-goal.
Centre Hice: Net result: Leafs cheating?
they gave no indication, but I would think they’d like him to have at least one practice with the team before he laces up. Or do they have no confidance in Boyd? What do you think?
- Who will be at the Heritage Classic?
He’s just annoyed he has no goaltending and his season is living and dying on Stamkos scoring 70G.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
In the 50s Habs/Wings was the biggest rivalry for Stanley Cups and year after year. The Richard riot even occured at a Wings at Habs game with Clarence Campbell in attendence.
That was sick
Congratulations Mr. Boucher (although you may not care), you have attained the “douche” level that Richards and Grapes have in my opinion.
Ali B.
Gomez has been struggling with this injury all season. He needs a month to rest it.
question is why? is a trade for gomez in the works?
Don’t question the fairness, that’s no surprise. Don’t you know? JM does not like uppity young players.
Besides, I don’t think Boyd was that bad but hey! what do I know?
cheers,
PS: If Desharnais plays, I sincerely hope he has a successful game though.
Ali B.
Thanks for that, wonder if he will play?
Milton’s incredible goal off back of goalie’s mask
Does his stick go higher than the crossbar.?
Its on the Habs official web site, no secret.
- Who will be at the Heritage Classic?
Maybe some of us are still in high school, eh?
- Who will be at the Heritage Classic?
Who is reporting his call up.??
What a bunch of whiners. I lost a lot of respect for Boucher after those comments.
Thanks for this.
Deharnais called up, so its likely the “Linup announcement” is pending his arrival from Hamilton.

I gained a lot of respect for Tom Renney after reading this and watching the video that goes with it.
Linus Omark re-opened the can of worms around rookies being to “flashy”. I can’t believe people (coaches, fans, players) think that being very talented and using that talent is a slap in the face.
Well like lawyer Jackie Chiles on Seinfeld would ask…
“Are the waffles frozen or thawed? Cause a frozen waffle could do a lot more damage than a floppy old thawed waffle. We might have a case here”
Sorry…its a slow afternoon!!
I would say no just because he finished the game last night and like you said the next game is wednesday… although the leafs do play the habs hard it would be a good team to rest players against
“When people agree with me i always feel that i must be wrong” – Oscar Wilde
Yeah, especially considering the next game after this one is Wednesday at home in Montreal.
They must be preparing to play him. Pleks hurt too perhaps?
I agree with Mike Babcock that Montreal and Detroit should play more often. Last night’s game was action packed
and very entertaining. The team’s played to the bitter end and there’s nothing like 2 original 6 team’s playing for
team honor and glory. You have to love it.
Tonight will be another tilt between 2 original 6 team’s as the Canadiens take on the Maple Leafs in what should
be another bitter battle. You just have to love it.

agreed i just don’t know why eles they would call him i understand gomez is hurt but that doesn’t mean we call up desharnais to sit him

Really a big slap in the face to Boyd. I don’t know if it’s fair to scratch him after a poor performance in his first game back.
The more skill the better I guess.
Source?
assuming then he will be dressing although it might be too high of expectations he should play with Cammi since they are both skilled players

Please, can we raise the tone in here above high school?
Still, a shame Komisarek is out, Cammalleri could use his crisp feeds to the slot.

Change the “K” in Komo to an “H” and it’s perfect..
desharnais called up
Who knew how dangerous it was to pay in Toronto?
Burkie asks himself the very same question every time he passes Komi in the ACC corridors.
I think the Habs management should ask for guarantee protection from flying waffles. One of those things could hit one of our players in the mouth and he could end up eating it. Then that player would be lost for weeks with a tummy ache. Who knew how dangerous it was to pay in Toronto?
Damn, Stubbs fixed it. We could have had some more fun with it.
- In Price We Trust
Jean-François Giguère – I watched him for years play for the Dartmouth Moose.
Stubbs are you into the “Christmas Cheer” a little early today??
This sucks. If I knew for sure Price was playing I’d go but if it’s Auld, I don’t really feel like parting with a $150 to go to the game. Call me what you want but for that money I want to see Carey.
- In Price We Trust
Leafs got a new goalie?
I think the point is they COULD be playing someone named Jean-Francois Giguere, and it would make no difference.
Who the meatballs is that?
Yesterday Martin went with Price/Boyd/Subban. Only guys on the ice today are Auld/Gomez/Weber….I think it’s pretty obvious he will keep the same line up. If Gomez wasn’t ready to play yesterday then he shouldn’t play today. You don’t heal up in 24 hours like that. It’s safe to say he won’t sit Subban again. Since we’re playing a division team, you need your best goaltender. 4 point game (even though the Laffs obviously won’t make the playoffs). Boyd played well last night too, especially in the 3rd.
Gomez not playing according to the RDS app
And Jean-Sebastien Giguere not playing according to Dave Stubbs. I didn’t even know the Leafs picked up Jean Sebastien’s little brother JF…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
When did “in nets” come to be? I grew up saying “in net”!
the twine wears out very quick in Toronto from overusage, hence the need to change nets often.
Speaking of net(s):
Centre Hice: Net result: Leafs cheating?
haha, a facebook “like” button is required for posts like this!
Subban to be scratched, blamed for loss – news at 11
he’s definitely not at fault for that loss.
So is Gomez actually hurt, or is he a healthy scratch?
I’d think that it he were healthy that he’d be playing.
Centre Hice: Net result: Leafs cheating?
WaffleGate seems to have genuinely confused and panicked the Leafs and the TO media.
Here
is a straight-faced quote from the National Post: “One of them hit
Leafs defenceman François Beauchemin. He was unharmed.” The lack of
injury was backed up by the Globe & Mail.
Of course he was unharmed. He’s a pro hockey player with protective equipment. How is he going to be harmed by a waffle?
“That’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Phaneuf said. “I’ve
seen lots of stuff thrown out on the ice, but I didn’t even see it so I
can’t comment on it. I’ve never seen a waffle, no. I’m not commenting on
it.”
“I don’t know. I don’t know what it means,” Colby Armstrong said. “I don’t know what this all means.
Montreal is debating a hot young defenseman. Toronto is debating the meaning of a waffle.
Go Habs Go!
Waffles = Awful ?
I am not sure who Jean-Francois is. Did Burke make another move that we are unaware of ?
