Gill in, Weber out

Even though you’re overwrought with emotion knowing that Guillaume Latendresse will not play tonight for the Minnesota Wild, news from the Montreal camp is that defenceman Hal Gill is back in. The return of Gill, who missed a pair of games with the flu, means that Yannick Weber is out.

  1. Brazhabs says:

Anybody have a timeline for our clinic?

    Spacek, Halpern, Pleks, Soepel??

And would it be possible to get Markov/Gorges back if we go deep in the playoffs?

  2. db says:

I think this site needs an FAQ now lol

  3. Bugs says:

Good thing about the early start for today’s game is that it won’t cut into Celebrity Apprentice-watchin time, knowumsayin?
That Star Jones is gonna be a handful, you can just TELL.

  4. Azriel says:

Any of you guys know where I change my picture? I can’t find it in my profile editer.

    • Cape Breton says:

You’re on your own baby. A great website has just gone down under.

    • idle says:

You need to go to and create a new account. Make sure you use the same email address to sign up for gravatar as you used to create your HIO account. Once you have a gravatar account log into it and upload your avatar and assign it to your email address. When you come back to HIO your avatar will automatically show (there may be a few minute delay and you will have to refresh your pages)

      • Cape Breton says:

THanks pal. But sounds sort of complicated to a non friendly-computer-user rookie. Not you’re fault, though, you’re trying to help, unlike the owners of this once great site. Thanks again

        • idle says:

I understand, but it’s really not complicated. You were able to find this website and create an account at some point. It is just as easy to do it (though you could make an argument about why you should have to) at gravatar.

Just go to and create an account (using the same email address as this one)

After that post back and I can help you further if you still need it.

  5. HABWARRIOR says:

Can someone tell me how to put up and use my profile pic….im stuck and dont know how cuz of the new website design….tnx.

  6. WestHab says:

so far postimg is at least faster than before “they” changed it.

  7. Fire_Laraque says:

Where can I see the game online?

  8. Cape Breton says:

Your new site has an awful of complications. Not like the old one, where i log on and bingo. i’m on for a comment. It took me 3 hrs to get here and i still don’t know how i got on. and am scared to try again when this log expires.

  9. lefreak says:

hmmm this new format is almost as awkward as having a conversation with Benoit Brunet about menstrual cycles.

  10. HabsFanInTampa says:

It may not feel right, Boone. But, we get to see a very important hockey game on an otherwise boring Sunday evening TV schedule! 🙂

    • observer says:

mcdonagh was reckless with his helmet

    • Ian Cobb says:

Thanks Danno, Cook is gone for a long time.

    • Fire_Laraque says:

I don’t see the issue here, strong hockey play.

    • WestHab says:

this guy does not learn and he’ll do it untill he’s kicked out, sick player. The pegs gotta bench him after the suspension that he’ll get.

      • Danno says:

The chickens are coming home to roost. How long can all these contradictions exist at the same time? Lemieux and Shero both condemning head shots. Sidney Crosby being out all season. Cooke being a reckless head hunter. Now is the time for the NHL and the Penguins organization to cut the crap and send a strong message by suspending Cooke for a long, long time.

    • W35T5ID3 says:

Here is the PERFECT chance for the NHL to make a statement with this incident.CLEARLY not a hockey play.CLEARLY it shows Cookes intent.CLEARLY cooke targets the head with his elbow.CLEARLY the NHL should get this one right, right?

If he’s not given 15 games for this stupid idiot play or hell ….i’d say ur done till next season ….take the summer to think about your ridiculous ways on the ice.If he does this again next time give him a lifetime ban from playing in the NHL.Thats all there is to it.Cooke is disrespectful to everyone and CLEARLY goes headhunting like no other ive seen and tries to hurt people.WTF is wrong with this guy???!!

      • Danno says:

I am almost expecting another lame decision by the league in spite of all your excellent points.

      • idle says:

It would be hard for Lemieux to argue why he should not be suspended for a lengthy period. He is a repeat offender and shows no effort at all to clean his play up. He has no respect for anyone in the league.

Based on Lemieux’s recent comments, whatever the NHL gives Cooke, the Penguins should add to it.

    • J.J. of Turku says:

Lemieux must be very proud of him (again)?

  11. HABSsince92 says:

Go HABS Go! Big game tonight.

  12. Bugs says:

    No Glamour
    He’s the Hamr.

  13. Bugs says:

Pleky with groin injury, unconfirmed. Possibly serious.

  14. tippytoes says:

    Lovin’ the new look.

  15. gumper says:

Crap! Go away for the weekend and all this happens!! Hell, it’s not even called Habs Insideout anymore. Are we trying to court non-Habs fans???

  16. christophor says:

Auld or Price? Mixed messages, though I trust Men’s Ice Hockey Inside Out more than I do TSN or CBC.

  17. joshua94k says:

Alex Auld is starting today according to CJAD.

  18. habs-hampton says:

So, what’s the over/under on Matt Cooke’s suspension?

  19. Castor says:

Darn! The Rangers won thanks to that moron Cooke. Three back of us! We NEED to win tonight!!

  20. Ian Cobb says:

    Shoot out to Robert L.

Thank you so very much for setting up my new account with HIO Robert.

It was very nice of you to phone me and offer to set it up for me.

Looks like we are up and running now. All I have to figure out is how to edit and understand how things work.

How does one click on other members profile, to see who we might be talking to.??? And how do we e-mail each other through the site now???

Good to be back on. I owe you a couple beer at the next Summit Robert.!

It was sure frustrating the last 24 hrs. trying to understand. More bugs to work out in the system I’m sure. “Pun intended BUGS”

    • Alex Rio says:

Ian, i do not beleive we can click on names to see their profiles as of now. Im assuming and hoping that this changes soon.

Im glad you got your stuff set up!

      • Bugs says:

If you have a website link in your profile, clicking on a poster’s name will send you to it.
        Habsbros in my case.

        • Ian Cobb says:

What do you mean a website link in my profile?
Can you read my profile Bugs?

          • Bugs says:

Not yet, I can’t. I either don’t know how or haven’t cracked the mainframe yet.
But what I’m saying is: if you go down this page and click on your name beside the comment box, you will be directed to YOUR homepage. Under “Contact Info” is the box marked “Website”.
Whatever website you put in there becomes a link on your posts. Folks will be able to access it by clicking on your name.
Is that clearer or did I make things worse? Cuz I’m not sure I understand myself…

          • habsfansince91 says:

lol don’t worry. What you said makes sense

    • Cape Breton says:

How come they help you out with the personnal touch ian? Hard to believe but I’m just as good as you baby and i get none of that stuff. Favortism sucks!!

  21. SadPricey says:

    He’s big…
    He’s ill
    He’s Hal Gill

  22. WindsorHab-10 says:

    Better win tonight.

  23. CDH says:

    Testing 1, 2, 3

    • CDH says:

For those of you looking to get your avatars back you can find the instructions by clicking on “March 2011” from the archives on the right of the screen. It’s really simple to get it back.

  24. Sheldon says:

Every time I see that white star in a red circle on a blue background, I am reminded of North Korea!

  25. _Habsoloutly_ says:

So TSN is reporting Price in, and Hockey Inside/Out is reporting Auld in. Who should I believe?

    • FastCentennial says:

It is most likely gonna be Auld like many people have said there playing against a western conf. team that if they do lose points it don’t matter, even though 2 pts would be great. i think Auld gvie the kid a rest.

      • observer says:

this is a big game for all the reasons i posted before. especially now that rangers won, buff playing at 5pm and buff who beat habs twice in a row coming here tuesday. there is a HUGFE diff from finishing 6th – or 7/8 this year in who you meet. this is a big game. that price story JUST RECENTLY was put up on that site after nyr/pitts game ended.

  26. A. Berke says:

As I already said, I have been a member for over 4 years now and I’m not against “change” but this new format really sucks:
    – No EDIT
    – Replies are limited to 5 so far
    – No information about other posters
    – The feature that’s not acceptable at all is the relationship with Gravatar (W.P). Because the moment you log in the system start phishing your computer and places ads that they think you need. Case in point last few days I was shopping for car rental in New Zealand from my computer and guess what? I’m getting all the car rental outfits’ ads from NZ now on HIO. Is anyone else getting NZ ads? WTF NZ ads are doing here at HIO?

Furthermore, I prefer my privacy (I don’t join sites like Facebook) and I don’t want my picture/avatar appearing elsewhere whenever my email address appears for any reason. Third party controlling my information should be an absolute NO and I consider that a breach of trust (even though they may own/control The Gazette).

I’m sure not very many posters will miss me but I’ll will check back in a few weeks. If the necessary adjustments are not made, I’ll be gone. This format reeks of commercial use and abuse of our passion for Les Glorieux. After all, I can get all the pertinent news about my team elsewhere without any problem, the main reason I’ve been a member is to exchange ideas with other posters without any fear of invasions of privacy.

    Salut & Cheers

    Ali B.

    • Alex Rio says:

I am in full agreement with you. Im also a member thats been here longer than most, and im not looking this one bit. I always enjoyed reading your posts, and i hope this beta testing crap is over soon so the site is streamlined and GOOD like earlier.

      very dissapointed.

    • t1tan5 says:

Regarding the adverts: I’m getting some rather generic adverts for des Sources Dodge/Chrysler and Concordia University. I haven’t been shopping for a car and I go to McGill. Maybe if you change your browser, the result will be more to your liking? I use Firefox.

      • A. Berke says:

When I’m reading the posts at HIO without login, I don’t see those unwanted NZ ads. However when I login they appear by magic.

PS: I use Macs (no virus problems) and use Safari and/or Firefox.
PS2: McGill is also my alma mater (attended in the mid 60’s for my graduate school). Go Redmen!
        Ali B.

    • Ian Cobb says:

Ali, I finally got Robert to set up an account for me, but you are absolutely correct. They had better not release our privacy to the world. And this site was not introduced very professionally to people that do not have the new technology vocabulary. Especially to the long standing members.

    • Le Jadester says:

      I agree Ali B.

      Habs Ole !

    • Mike D says:

I very much agree with your points about the things you dislike about the new site. Not to be a whiner, but other than having to change the name at the team’s request, why all the other changes?

    • habsfansince91 says:

agree with everything.Fortunately for me, I’m not getting any advertisements at all.

  27. Alex Rio says:

  28. observer says:

    TSN says Price is playing!

  29. Alex Rio says:

    testing again

  30. Alex Rio says:

testing to see if avataar works

  31. slapshot777 says:

Any word on Sopel and when he may be back in the lineup?

  32. matmacat says:

This new layout reminds me of a generic “blogspot” type website. But I don’t really care I guess…

  33. Danno says:

Just out of curiosity, did anyone get a reply yet from the site people after sending their thoughts? And if so, how did they respond to your comments?

    • Alex Rio says:

      danno, i got no reply.

This site layout is a joke to me.
although i do respect that others may like it.

How do you go to previous posts? i want to see the page where the instructions for avatars are, and cant go “back”

and while they remade the site coulldnt they add a LIKE/UNLIKE or a PLUS1 MINUS1 thing?

as for my question id appreciate some help 🙂

  34. voyageur9 says:

rangers just won 5-2 over penguins

  35. fun police says:

glad Gill is back. i thought weber has been struggling as of late, not that picard has been much better. looking forward to getting sopel back in.

  36. CHsam says:

  37. Laramy87 says:

God does Matt Cooke think. Guy is sn absolute disgrace

  38. Psycho29 says:

Good old matt Cooke….back to his old tricks…..Elbow to the head of McDonagh and got 5 mins and the game…

  39. adam76 says:

matt cooke is a disgrace. Toss him out of the league.

  40. temekuhabs says:

Hope for a good game from “Les Boys” today!

Here’s a disgusting article I read Today about how WE are the worst fans in the NHL.

I didn’t know what do with this when I read it, but i knew i had to do something. Hateful Americans

  42. Sportfan says:

SO what Picard is still playing he’s just as bad at least weber is offensive

  43. jimmy shaker says:

The boys will at least come out of minny with a point tonight. But hopefully they can win it in OT or have auld get it done in the shootout. Gill back in will help and Auld will be decent by only allowing 1 or at the most 2 wild goals.

  44. Jim Edson says:

Webber out after that MAB imitation in NY hardly a surprise!

    • jimmy shaker says:

Scratch weber, I think what you meant to say was hammer! I’ll rephrase the whole thing for you…….Hammer out after his piss poor showing in NYC.

      • Jim Edson says:

No paraphrase required it was Webber!

Hammer surely didn’t have his best game but at least he went into the corners willingly!

Webber needs a heart transplant, calling Josh Gorges!

  45. CBrady12 says:

You guys are ruthless…I feel bad for the guys that designed the site cause I’m sure they worked their ass off… just to hear everyone complain.

  46. Mattyleg says:

I still can’t get an avatar going.

  47. FightCancer says:

A Sunday night in March with a 6PM start…wasn’t this the old time slot for the Academy Awards??? It was strange to be without a Canadiens game on a Saturday.

  48. Mike D says:

Anyone else having problems with auto-signatures? Mine still populates in my profile info, but doesn’t pre-fill when I post?

  49. j2c says:

    So who’s in net tonight?

  50. I_SAY_FIGHT says:

    So what’s the D Pairing
    Gill-PK, Picard-Mara, The Wiz-hammer.?

  51. scrowe21 says:

Hate the new website. Whats going on with Latendresse? I thought he was back. Healthy scratch?

  52. Snair11 says:

Did I just hear Milbury on NBC consider Christian Ehrhoff as a Norris canidate? Am I missing something here?

  53. HardHabits says:

I got a letter from the Canadiens informing me that I was infringing on their copyrighted material so…….

  54. The Teacher says:

I see no place on this site to edit a freaking profile…booooooooooooooooo

  55. HABSsince92 says:

TSN is saying Price is starting?

  56. WestHab says:

    good news Gill!!!
I will try to get used to this new site.
