You need to go to gravatar.com and create a new account. Make sure you use the same email address to sign up for gravatar as you used to create your HIO account. Once you have a gravatar account log into it and upload your avatar and assign it to your email address. When you come back to HIO your avatar will automatically show (there may be a few minute delay and you will have to refresh your pages)

I understand, but it’s really not complicated. You were able to find this website and create an account at some point. It is just as easy to do it (though you could make an argument about why you should have to) at gravatar.

The chickens are coming home to roost. How long can all these contradictions exist at the same time? Lemieux and Shero both condemning head shots. Sidney Crosby being out all season. Cooke being a reckless head hunter. Now is the time for the NHL and the Penguins organization to cut the crap and send a strong message by suspending Cooke for a long, long time.

I am almost expecting another lame decision by the league in spite of all your excellent points.
It would be hard for Lemieux to argue why he should not be suspended for a lengthy period. He is a repeat offender and shows no effort at all to clean his play up. He has no respect for anyone in the league.
Based on Lemieux’s recent comments, whatever the NHL gives Cooke, the Penguins should add to it.

I think Sapcek is deemed to be ready for the playoffs. Don’t expect #79 unless we go very very deep, like June. Gorges is probably out till Sept. The next body back is probably Darche.

McDonagh’s head foolishly got in the way of Cooke’s elbow.
No suspension.
Two problems here that need to be addressed: (1) McDonagh clearly jumped into Cooke’s elbow, (2) Elbow pads need to be redesigned so that players don’t get as hurt when, during a hockey play, they’re unfortunately thrown into them (or throw themselves into them). In the end, McDonagh got up right away so he was milking the refs. Apparently we’re not happy unless the victim is badly hurt.
Don’t forget that had Cooke swung his elbow out anywhere else on the ice, it would have hit air, just another hockey play, so really, is a suspension gonna solve anything?
He better get at least 5 games. This guy is mental,you’d think all the hype about head shots,he’d think before hitting. Don’t tell me he didn’t have time to hold up.

this is a big game for all the reasons i posted before. especially now that rangers won, buff playing at 5pm and buff who beat habs twice in a row coming here tuesday. there is a HUGFE diff from finishing 6th – or 7/8 this year in who you meet. this is a big game. that price story JUST RECENTLY was put up on that site after nyr/pitts game ended.
As I already said, I have been a member for over 4 years now and I’m not against “change” but this new format really sucks:
- No EDIT
- Replies are limited to 5 so far
- No information about other posters
- The feature that’s not acceptable at all is the relationship with Gravatar (W.P). Because the moment you log in the system start phishing your computer and places ads that they think you need. Case in point last few days I was shopping for car rental in New Zealand from my computer and guess what? I’m getting all the car rental outfits’ ads from NZ now on HIO. Is anyone else getting NZ ads? WTF NZ ads are doing here at HIO?
Furthermore, I prefer my privacy (I don’t join sites like Facebook) and I don’t want my picture/avatar appearing elsewhere whenever my email address appears for any reason. Third party controlling my information should be an absolute NO and I consider that a breach of trust (even though they may own/control The Gazette).
I’m sure not very many posters will miss me but I’ll will check back in a few weeks. If the necessary adjustments are not made, I’ll be gone. This format reeks of commercial use and abuse of our passion for Les Glorieux. After all, I can get all the pertinent news about my team elsewhere without any problem, the main reason I’ve been a member is to exchange ideas with other posters without any fear of invasions of privacy.

Regarding the adverts: I’m getting some rather generic adverts for des Sources Dodge/Chrysler and Concordia University. I haven’t been shopping for a car and I go to McGill. Maybe if you change your browser, the result will be more to your liking? I use Firefox.
When I’m reading the posts at HIO without login, I don’t see those unwanted NZ ads. However when I login they appear by magic.
PS: I use Macs (no virus problems) and use Safari and/or Firefox.
PS2: McGill is also my alma mater (attended in the mid 60′s for my graduate school). Go Redmen!
