Carolina won last night and so did the Rangers and Buffalo.
There’s a big one tonight at the Bell Centre – where there aren’ any small ones.
• Sopel should be in the lineup
• Pat Hickey on the trading frenzy
• Kovy’s not-so-excellent Ottawa adventure

Last year a lot of fans would have been willing to let Max Pac go for some short time thrill. I see Eller as a guy that just needs a bit of time in the AHL. I like what I’ve seen lately from him. It would not break my heart to see AK go though.
I didn’t realize he was that short. In the games I watched him it was not apparent. Don’t know why Calgary bought him ou,t they could afford one small guy.
The pacing is too far apart so every time Auld starts he’s cold. What is it? 2-3 of those games Auld had to be yanked. Auld should’ve gotten the Edmonton game and a few others.
AK has to go, he’ll do ok somewhere else. We need to say goodbye to spacek and gill too i am tired of bad plays in our end. Buy out Gomez’s contract because no one will take him. All better.
Big write on Canoe of how the Oilers got they ass kick by the bigger Blues ,Stewart 6 goal so far with the Blue and the smelliest guy on is line at 6-2 and 228 lbs….The Blue got it right this time to bad for us
Twice.
Hurricanes always tough for Habs from the late Whaler days. However Habs are 2-0 against Carolina this season and there is no Stahl tonight to injure Markov.
The fact that I would trade AK for Wayne Simmonds is a heartbeat leads me to believe that it is extremely unlikely.
I definitely would not give up Eller and a first for penner and smid. I like Penner, but not if he’s going to play for Jacques Martin. That’s a disaster waiting to happen IMO.
I also don’t think the habs should be giving up any more draft picks or high-end prospects at this point. Eller is going to be a good player, he just needs to get back to hamilton to build up the confidence IMO.
Eller is getting better and he still is real young. Hell ,he came to America from Danish hockey and only has a bit of experience here at the minor league level. Now almost a full year in the NHL. I think he is learning well and here.
Eller need time at center
Rather get Hemsky.
He seems taller on skates.
He actually moved to sweden when he was 15 and played in the elite league for 3 or 4 years. So he’s had great learning curves and experiences, and I think next year will be a great year for this kid.
Shaker
Why we are behind others teams ,Stewart 6-2 228 ,Backer 6-3 225 ,Berglund 6-4 218 ,the west teams are bigger and now the east catching up , those 3 guys have 58 goals so far not bad
Chucky, you’re obviously not clear on how hockey works if you think that Gill is a problem.
Really not clear.

I think we’ll be fine. We just have to get our mojo working again, get the new guys used to playing with us, get the forwards back on line and scoring. To be honest, this is a pretty good time for a slump (if we can pull out of it!) because teams that hit the playoffs on an upswing always do better than teams who have been drifting.
Just take your time, boys, get it going.

So, Gomez tonight: the usual 0-0-0 -1 or perhaps a 0-1-1 EVEN gem that will have everyone raving about his marvellous big-game ability?
All the nine goals in 92 games jocularity aside, at this point in the season there’s no way he’s going anywhere, so it’s just hang on and hope for the best. The single-biggest off-season priority should be shipping this pud elsewhere (“HEY wait, sure we lost in the first round, but he was 1-4-5 in six games, that’s almost a point per game, he was huge…) but for now, he’s our pud with a CH on the front of his jersey.
Did you know that he has only been held without a point a mere 42 times this year? That’s huge.
I call TWO points for Gomez, a win for the Habs and a HIO love in tonight.
This could hurt !!!
If that is true about Sanford? How much longer do you think Auld will be on the roster? 2 days max?
