More surgery for Markov

Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier says Andrei Markov will undergo “minor” arthroscopic surgery on his right knee at Dr. James Andrews’ clinic in Florida.
The defenceman will be out at laest three more weeks.
For those keeping score, Gauthier has previously deigned to talk to scrum monkeys and ink-stained wretches at the Canadiens golf tournament and on the day he fired Perry Pearn.
Three times since September!
Truly, we are blessed.

This whole thing is sad on several counts: Markov of course is going through hell, the team suffers because of the decision putting all their eggs in 79’s basket and the forced reliance on such a green gentle and small d. But full value today, atta go boys.

Brendan Shanahan is Colon Campbull in drag.

how long can montreal stay in the playoff race with this PP. markov coming back should have helped the PP but now he wont be back for another month or so. the longer hes out, the less i like their (and his) chances…

ill be in the slot 😉

AK was great today. When he’s got it going you can see why they drafted him as high as they did.

philly drafted jeff carter right after us… id rather have carter

      Boom baby!

Yep. Kostitsyn did play a great game. The first goal was a direct result of his forcheck (allowed Plekanec to get the puck back to the point) and net presence (passed the rebound out to Plekanec for a clear shot). The second was him putting his shot on display, along with some nice passing from Eller and Leblanc. I thought Kostitsyn was hands down Montreal’s best forward today.

    3 to 5 weeks means 6 to 8 weeks!
