The Flyers upgraded their injury-riddled defence today by trading for Boston’s Andrew Alberts. In return, Boston picked up minor-league forward Ned Lukacevic and a conditional draft pick in 2009.
There was no word on whether the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Alberts would arrive in time to face the Canadiens. A concussion limited him to 35 games last season and he had two assists.
There will be no changes in the Canadiens lineup which means Kyle Chipchura will be a healthy scratch for the third consecutive game.

Anyone know the stats on Laroque’s ‘upperbody, lol” injury??? I can’t wait for him to start crushing sculls,”heh heh”. Is the injury his groin or his hip??
nice comeback. but habs could you please not wait until the 3rd period to start playing? Anyways happy with the win.
3rd periode and we just tied the game!! we need more plays like that!
Your on the main , go to Boone’s.
Montreal is getting outhustled and outworked. Nobody is getting in Biron’s face. Philly is forechecking us to death.
P.S. And what the heck is up with only 15 posts so far. Last year there would have been a hundred by now. I got the impression everyone was excited for this year. Guess not.
As bad as the habs played on Thursday, they actually look worse tonight.
How come this is the 2nd game on the road that habs aren’t skating, and not sharp? oh, and everyone beats the leafs. O’Byrne is very slow, not an NHL D man.
man this game can’t get anymore boring.. If the canadiens want t even have a chance at the cup they will go get a 4 defensemen.. There’s way to many stoppage of times in hockey it gets annoying.. And a bunch of useless penalties
Latendresse is simply brutal. He seems incapable of making a hockey play out there. Please let this be the year they send him to Hamilton to learn the game.
I read a press release from the Flyers that said Alberts will likely be unavailable for tonight’s game.
Les H – There could be cap issues cuz they didn’t have much room to start with but i’ll leave that to the experts.
Tonight would be a good time to show what kind of gritty team we are, but a 3rd game in 4 nights makes it unlikely. I hope we have enough jump in the 1st and 2nd to cruise in the 3rd. I’m looking for a big night from Pleks, Kovy and AK46. Should be a barn burner!
Gilbert
2008/09 is the season of the Habs
Look for Coburn to be all wrapped around Kovy again tonight, the way he was in the playoffs. But now we have 3 legitimate scoring lines, they can’t stop us.
Tonight should be a really good game,I think Price is going to show the flyers that what happend in the playoffs won’t happen again lol.
Too bad Laraque is still out.
I think the flyers will focus on pleks/ak46/kovy, allowing capt k’s line to steal the show. Should be the story all season.

For anyone interested, there is an awesome hockey card show at Centre Pierre Charbonneau in Montreal Oct 24, 25, 26 (the weekend of the HIO summit). I have no affiliation with it, but I’ll be there, as will Carey Price, Andrei & Sergei Kostitsyn and more!
I’d really like to see Chipchura in the lineup tonight to get tough with the Bullies, but the Flyers should have their hands full containing an even deeper Habs team than in last season’s playoffs
Bryan – Thanks for the acknowledgement:-)
Going for the Brass Ring – 25 Cups in 100 Years
So if they focus on Kovalev, Koivu’s line and Lang’s line should be able to pull up the slack. With Buffalo off to a good start, we can’t afford to lose and lag behind.
Enjoy this great match gal’s and guy’s,we’re in for some fun times ….GO HABS….gameon……
Come on Laraque, get healthy buddy. I hope you’re tak’n down names. Caugh Downie Caugh.
