A quick note for those attending the fifth annual Hockey Inside/Out Summit on the weekend of Nov. 18-20:
Montreal will stage its 61st annual Santa Claus parade down Ste. Catherine St. on Saturday, Nov. 19 beginning at 11 am.
(No truth to the rumour that Summit organizer Ian Cobb will be mistaken for St. Nick.)

1. Blunden
2. Fighting Lessons
How long till Martin realizes that Eller should be on the 2nd PP wave carrying the puck into the O zone? While it’s not Darche’s fault that the PP isn’t working, his presence surely isn’t helping, cause having a talent like Eller sit on the bench while your PP continues to struggle is unacceptable.
And why the hell is Gomez sitting with the green light to play? He must be rolling his eyes right now. Give the guy another chance. He had a great pre-season. Atleast he can freakin’ skate with the puck!
JM on Eller last week: “He’s still trying to find out what kind of a player he’s going to be,” Martin said. “He hasn’t shown to me he’s a high-scoring player. The key is to play a strong defensive game and he’ll get opportunities on offence.”
It does not sound like JM is grooming him for the PP. Eller is a first round pick with 100 games under his belt. Either you trust him or you replace him. I have no problem with sticking him on the first line to see what happens.
Blue, blanc et rouge. Red and White for Canada. Blue for Smurfs.
Pathetic. Yeah because Darche has shown you he’s a high scoring player? Yeah…maybe on your personal romantic time together. Such BS. How do you accuse a player of still finding his identity when you’re the one labeling and using him as a 3rd line defensive center? He said it himself FFS! Eller is one of the only forwards with Gomez, PK and Pleky that can bring the puck into the O-zone.

It’s P.K. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime
How long till Martin realizes that Darche should be sitting his ass on the bench in any offensive situation is the real question.
Put Nokelainen on the third line instead of DD, DD can play the fourth with Darche and Blunden. I think it’s worth a try. DD is getting beaten physically all over the ice for the puck. And Darche is the cock block of any good offensive rush.
Any question that begins with “how long till Martin realizes” is an entirely hypothetical exercise. Realizing is preceded by conscious thought; conscious thought is preceded by awareness. At the moment Martin is only aware of whatever he has in his pockets!
LOL!
Brilliant, effin brilliant!
It’s time for Jess Rusnak of radio 990 to ask JM the question. Why Darche and not Eller. It worked with Cole.
Stay Thirsty My Friends!
Are all these injuries the result of our team not having an enforcer in our lineup?
No. Reimer’s out because of BG.
“May you live in interesting times.”
It was tweeted that Cammie got a puck on the knee cap during the last game. I didn’t see it, so I would assume it was accidental.
I posed the question with some wry sarcasm, as while I wish our team was more physical, others say our injuries are a result of not having an eforcer. Yet all these injuries are part of the game.
Gomez gets green light but is held out. Darche still gets pp time and seems to be promoted (or is cole being demoted?) to line with cole. It’s not like these points mean anything at the end of the year anyways. i’m having a hard time supporting JM.
Welcome to the club. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
I am not enjoying mine.
” Go JM,Go….”
Some Leaf fans are saying Brian Gionta should have been suspended for the hit to the head that has left James Reimer out with concussion symptoms with no return date announced.
It looks to me like accidental contact – in fact if anything Reimer comes out and makes contact with Gionta. Gionta was not skating towards Reimer and never changed his direction:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW3L1jhvSik
Looked to me like Gio twisted himself in an effort to avoid contact.
Here is the quote from Reimer after the game: “I obviously don’t think he tried to do it. I guess it’s up to the NHL, but I don’t really think so. I don’t think he stuck out his elbow or anything. It’s just some contact in front of the net.”
It was a collission, not a check. The wrecklessness rule I think applies to checks not collissions. If Reimer was in the crease I think it would be different. I hope Reimer makes a full and speedy recovery.
Blue, blanc et rouge. Red and White for Canada. Blue for Smurfs.
Given it was a hit/contact by Gio, hard to believe any intent. However, if it was Price hit by Kessel would we be screaming?
Reimer leaves his crease as Gionta is skating towards him to find a rebound. he tries to avoid him but ends up bumping him accidently. Phaneuf makes contact with Gionta aswell so he was sandwiched between Reimer and Phaneuf. Even rational leaf fans say it was completely accidental. Only morons will say that merits a suspension. Out of the question. Malone on Campoli on the other hand…

It’s P.K. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime
Frankly, PK should have been suspended five games for that vicious snow-showering he laid on King Henrik in New York.

Here’s hoping that some of the summiteer’s don’t get accosted after their morning breakfast by a group of clowns warming up for the parade.
We’ll just throw JAson M at them…
Im hearing rumors that Cammy is not playing tonight. Anyone confirm?
Chrisadiens and HabFan10912, one of the few father son tandems on HIO.
Yah just read on other thread, scary, too late to call up that sniper Schultz I am guessing.
Heard he was hit by a knee on knee, I guess he is a game time decision.
Palushaj was skating with Eller and Moen.
Randy for HC!
TSn said it in their preview

Look for posts by IAn Cobb with full details and his contact info…
Hey everyone, in the spirit of good causes (which the Summit is helping promote), I’d like to remind you that I’m growing a Mo’vember moustache, and trying to raise money for prostate cancer on the Mo’vember website!
As men (mostly on this site), we’ve all been in contact in one way or another with prostate cancer, and anything you can do to help will be appreciated by men everywhere, and for generations to come!

Will Santa be making an appearance at the Bell Centre before the Summit game? My new daughter would love to meet her!
Hopefully the Habs will light the lamp like Rudolph’s nose that night.
The lines look the same for tonight – I’m not complaining – but I think I would have given Eller a chance on the 2nd line with Cammy and Cole. 3rd line – Moen, Desharnais, Palushaj – move Darche on the 4th line – he seemed to work good with
Nokelainen and Blunden. just a thought – may work may not.
Looks decent to me.
Randy for HC!
Cammi wasn’t at practice this morning. Dunno if that means he’s not able to play tonight or just a way for him to rest his knee to be 100% tonight. He apparently took a hard shot on it. We’ll found out soon enough.
Anyways when Gomez is back, I see:
Cammalleri-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Eller-Kostitsyn
Gionta-Gomez-Desharnais
Darche-Nokelainen-Blunden
I know the 1st line wasn’t working at the beginning of the season but Cole has been one of our best forwards since the Philly game. He’s been dominant coming down with strong on the right wing creating chances and showing he has chemistry with Cammi. It only makes sense to pair him up with the best center on the team.
2nd line is a no brainer. Youth, size, speed, talent.
3rd line maybe needs some tweaking
———————————————————-
It’s P.K. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime
Desharnais is too small for center and way too small for wing.
He has to be replaced. My wish is we get rid of Darche as well. IÈm tired of watching players who have zero effect on a game. No goals, no assists, no big hits, can’t fight, just nothing, zero.
Will St. Nick be putting a lump of Cole in Jacques Martin’s stocking this year?
Stay tuned…

Don’t know what he’s getting, but he asked for a grinder with cement hands for the powerplay.
Hope he brings a couple of consistant scores – and a consistant system. 18 years could become 40
Hey, it’s a parade down Ste. Catherine St. You take what you can get…
