The Canadiens returned Andreas Engqvist to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday, which likely means that Jeff Halpern will return to action on Tuesday in Philadelphia.
Engqvist played two games with the Canadiens, making his NHL debut on Friday in Ottawa.
Halpern missed the last two games after being injured against the Buffalo Sabres last Tuesday.

Maybe he will sign Spacek & Hammer as well ?
Habs Passion unites us all
Hahaha – I know that a lot of people despise Eklund here – but this stuff is genius! Hahaha I cannot stop laughing. Here take a look yourself: ”To Dallas: Nazem Kadri, Clarke MacArthur, and Kris Versteeg plus a conditional pick. To Toronto: Brad Richards, Jamie Benn, and Ondrej Roman.” Hahahaha - wait! Wait, there’s another one: “To New Jersey: Jay Bouwmeester, Rene Bourque, Mikael Backlund, and a first and third round round pick. To Calgary: Zack Parise, Brian Rolston, Bryce Salvador, Mattias Tedenby and Vladamir Zharkov” Oh God! – This just completed my weekend! What a great laugh hahaha!
So what does Martin run? The concession stand?
Habs Passion unites us all
Was at the game yesterday (best live sporting event I’ve witnessed since Joe’s Homer in ’93) and Engqvist *really* impressed me. I’m kind of surprised that he got sent down and White didn’t.
Steelers vs Packers, Love it!
Football question: Near the end of the half, the Bears QB fumbled the ball and the ref whistled it dead when another Bear picked it up, saying inside the 2:00 mark, only the fumbler can recover. What’s the reasoning?
I just saw Penner live here in LA against the Kings and i have one thing to say about him joining the Habs:
yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui, yes, oui,
Apparently someone had posted a porn link recently. I think the maintenance team has disabled links or posts including links. I’m not too sure; Ian was explaining this to another poster in the previous thread
You got that one right!
GO PACKERS.
The NHL isn’t singles tennis. Win as a team, lose as a team. Bettman is such a despicable panderer.
Hypothetical – next year Darche is an UFA. Would you resign him? He’ll most likely take very little money simply to stay in the NHL on a team that uses him. Hell give em a slight raise too. I’d have no problem signing him for another 2 years or something at the same pay or slightly more.
I was one of the guys who thought he shouldn’t rob a youth spot, but you know what? He works hard and has EIGHT GOALS on a scoring-depraved team. That says a lot.
A sub-genre of the full breezer tanking post? The post with the most? Hang on, I feel a draft…
Martin’s job is to get pissed off if we leave our own zone.
Give me 20x D’Arche, Metros, Bouillons and I will give you a Stanley Cup.
Could have been someone made an inappropriate reply to it, in that case the whole thread of discussion can get eliminated.
I love this website, but it’s such a clusterf*** most of the time.
Why was my post showing the top 10 PP and PK teams and the best of the PP and PK combinations deleted? I spent a lot of time on that post. I am seriously upset. The Mod standard at HIO is starting to take after NHL refereeing.
Yeah I saw that LOL, Eklund’s such a knob! Why would Dallas trade Richards AND Benn to anybody???
I don’t understand ANYONE who suggests a team’s best players being traded for spare parts on a garbage team. Guess what? Successful teams KEEP their good players.
Prospect RW Brendan Gallagher now at 31 goals on his season, 10 away from matching his previous-season output and he’s got 24 games left on his season to do it.
I am sure most people got their money’s worth Friday night. Well, at least the ones that were cheering.
The Habs have played the Flyers twice in 3 yrs in the playoffs & didn’t beat them. So I say NO!
Habs Passion unites us all
For now, I’ll settle for two points and PK Subban disrespecting PHI with the GWG.
the question is not whether we can beat the flyers on tuesday the questions is can we beat them 4 out of 7 games in the playoffs especially if we have to play them in the third round after two tough series…
“Scoring-depraved”, love that expression!
Full Breezer 4 Life
Not very hard when one of the best defences in the league is playing against a very subpar QB.
Of course I’d sign him. I’d also give him a 100,000-200,000 raise for being such a great teammate and example. Just for standing in front of the net like he does is worth that raise.
did they play twice that month? with raycroft getting pulled? because i recall not seeing this game http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/boxscore?gid=2007022610 (my brother was texting me about how raycroft got the yank, i was in new york city, cuz i went to see THIS game http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/recap/_/id/270227013/montreal-canadiens-vs-ny-rangers-rangers which ughh… yeah… that sucked
“in the days prior to the weekend games”
Is that why they no-showed for 2 games? If that’s true, they should give back the money to their fans who bought tickets since this was done. I’m pretty sure people who bought tickets at the start of the season didn’t want to pay money to attend a game their team had no intension to show up for.
Yes sir. The dreaded Aebischer was in net.
The Habs have a very good team. It’s the veterans that have the team never giving up. Who here thinks we would not have won last night had there been no shootout? This team is built for the playoffs and with a tinker here and there, we’ll go further than last year.
All this with our best player and Gorges out long term! I’m lovin’ it!
Go Habs Go!! “Fans are great, but the quickest way to start losing is to listen to them.” – Sam Pollock
If we don’t sign him, Yzerman will.
Mike Boone’s Steelers lay down the hammer and take a 24-0 lead.
was that a february game… like 07?
Straw man? You’re the one who stated ” its the veterans who need to work with them or else” in a leading question. LOL. I agreed with you about the youth movement, it’s the “or else” I don’t get. Or else what, the vets will get bumped from their jobs? If I misinterpreted your position I apologize. We seem to be on the same wavelength for most of the comment but the “or else” needs explanation.
***Subbang!!!***
He’s one of the few Habs who goes to the front of the net. And remember how we all thought he was signed as a 13th forward – a guy who won’t complain if he doesn’t start? Now he’s a clear starter.
But he isn’t getting any younger.
Good question, I’ve often wondered the same thing. Anyone hv an answer?
Nabokov signed a standard player contract negotiated with Detroit. He and his agent were well aware of the mechanism for him to return to the NHL and they rolled the dice. He now pays the piper for attempting to backdoor his way onto a contender past mid season. Strange though how he never got so philosophical (” Play for medals”) what a crock, when he was making 6 million with San Jose but getting knocked out in the first round regularly? “, Nabokov is a money grubber with an inflated self worth who came running back to the NHL when his American missus didn’t like living in Russia. BOO HOO!
…”The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star: 1st star: Henri Richard 2nd Star: Doug Harvey 3rd Star: Jacques Plante Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
don’t blame him… nabokov signed with the wings for a chance to win something..
not with the losers
