• AUDIO: Full Saku Koivu news conference
(38 minutes)
An emotional Saku Koivu returned to the Bell Centre late this afternoon for the first time since April 2009, and he expressed to the Canadiens, their fans and the city for making his 13 years in Montreal a memorable, mostly joyful time.
Koivu, who signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Anaheim Ducks in July 2009, plays his first NHL game on Bell Centre ice in a jersey other than that of the Canadiens on Saturday night, and he said he doesn’t quite know what to expect.
He is, however, certain this weekend will be one he never forgets.
More details to come.

I would love to hear that answer……on one hand he knows Saku never won anything, on hte other hand he knows how difficult it is to captaina team for a decade in Montreal…..be an interesting one for sure….
I wonder what Belliveau thinks about the idea of retiring #11 … any thoughts?
the people who criticized this guy for the pettiest of reasons are soulless monsters
I dont care what anybody says, Koivu was the heart and sould of montreal. He played with heart. i’ll choose him over Gomez anytime.
